The purpose of this thread is to give you a chance to get to know the team members who work hard to keep our little community humming along in the spirit of Aloha.
We've had some personnel changes and shifting of duties of late, and we will use this thread to let you know what is happening.
It also serves as a "Suggestion Box". We encourage and welcome your input as we strive to continually improve our village.

I have this friend named Fletch Underscore Smurf, and I'm just so upset I had to tell someone. He's this bald guy (bald guys are not sexy) who makes diapers, and I know him from my silly dragon game forum, but he's being a jerk. It really dots my eyes and crosses my tees, if you know what I mean.
See, he used to do all this stuff, like maintain the THE Dragonvale Community website, with all kinds of neato graphics and info whenever new DV content was released. Then they made this new robotty game called Gizmonauts, and of course he just had to do a website for that, too.
Then like he'd make an eZine for both games every couple weeks, as though he had nothing else in life worth spending his time on! And he ran a Shrine Strategy thread, and a Post of the Month thread, and, sheesh, I can't even remember what else.
Problem is, the guy's an old fart, and now he thinks he has a real job and his daughter got married and moved away, but he still makes diapers on the side, I dunno. So he's pulling back from a lot of his responsibilities on the forum. Which I guess is fine. Seems kinda selfish, though. It's not like he's up and quitting. No, he'll still be around. But, honestly, there's more important stuff in life than diapers.
I guess it's not all bad, though. There's a couple old-timey folks who've been around a while who're gonna step in and take up some official roles. And that's nice. Normally Mr. Smurf makes folks quit, not join up! Also, Fletch is gonna still lurk around and help out when he can, which I suppose is nice. Some of the new folks, and some of the old folks, are taking up Fletch's duties, and really they'll prolly do a better job than he ever did.
Anyhow, it's all just really annoying, and poor Pixie had been basically holding it all together by sheer willpower, which is just unfair. Myke has been stepping up, too (finally), but really he's more like dollar store krazy glue (cyanoacrylate) compared to Pixie ePoxy (that two-part stuff that's got kevlar in? You know?). First Poppy pulls back, and now Fletch. Sigh. But I suppose we'll muddle through this transition, like we always do. I guess I just needed to vent. Fletch looks silly with long blonde hair.
Hope things are okay with you and the cats, Mom. Thanks for sending baby wipes. Maybe whiney boy Fletch could use some. I'll bet he makes extra large diapers for himself to wear. Yarrr.
Love, Tommy
P.S. I didn't get an Amethyst Dragon. I hate my life.

Awesome Tommy!!! Been missing you! Hope all is going well and getting even better! Time to post some more pics of your little cutie!
Love that post and the dedication that all of our MODS have provided! Stepping up and in whenever needed is certainly a huge responsibility to our ever growing community.
If ever a need, I am available to help out with "The Shrine Grind". I was able to complete my own much faster than I thought possible and am familiar with the multiple variables involved in providing good and alternative solutions depending on current dragons available, food storage supply among many others. In this particular area I am comfortable.

Thank you April. It's good to know you are willing.
My post was sup"post" to make you all sad that Fletch is pulling back, and tell him how much you appreciate him.
I personally am extremely sad to ever see Poppy or Fletch "go". My hope is that they will never truly leave the baby they created! I cannot imagine this forum without them in any capacity. At the same time I also understand and respect when life needs to happen and take precedence over all other things that consume us. My attraction to this fine group of people is the uplifting support and personable extended family that has been created over time and connections! I feel I know most of you on a personal level and at times even better than my own extended family! I've been happy for you, overjoyed for you, cried for you and many more emotions that could only be elicited by a personal connection that has been developed and nurtured over time.
I would never want to step in or on anyone in this forum who is willingly providing a desired service to its members! Only to help out someone who needs respite for a period of time from what they do so well and willingly!

Um, FAIL! I was laughing too hard at your funny letter to read between the lines. I'm not sad that Fletch is pulling back either. While I do appreciate him, it's good to have a life outside the cyber world so really, I'm happy for him. He deserves a break and the extra help.

WOW TommyB! What an awesome remembrance of one of our Great Founders. While it is truly sad to have Fletch and Poppy step down I look forward to, and welcome, the successors of this wonderful forum. They are all wonderful people, and I too feel a personal relationship with most of them.
I send well wishes to Fletch and Poppy and hope to see future posts from them.
YOU WILL BE MISSED DEARLY!

May I suggest a troubleshooting thread for common DV "First World Problems"? It could be a collection of solutions (which can be updated) that can help fix problems that many players face in a day-to-day basis. Kind of like a nice bundle of answers instead of searching for the solution all over the place.

What type of problems did you have in mind? Can you give a couple examples? Sounds interesting.

A few problems that I had in mind were: o Friend List/Park Visiting Crashing with suggested solutions o Gem Tree gifting with its timely functions, including solutions for the 24 hour bug/wait. o The difference between signing into DV with a Local Park or Gamecenter Park o Power Cycling/Reinstalling further explained for updates o Overall crashing with suggestions on what you can do to help your device / optimizing gameplay o Etc... And so much more with basic solutions found in the BFS FAQ.
After seeing many posts with the same problem many players face, thought it would be nice to have a section just for that. A quick reference guide for fixing problems that we all may face during our experience in DV. Of course, solutions can be updated when bugs are removed, glitches are repaired, and kinks are fixed.

That sounds like a useful idea. We'll figure out where that thread should call home and make a thread for it. Then, if you are willing, you could develop what you have in mind, as well as other people who have had success fixing problems, within the thread. We'll use the OP to gather and organize a finished product. Does that sound ok?
If you like that, please PM me if you don't see it posted within a couple days. A little busy right now.
