Goodbye, great forum participants and fellow DVers!
After having had tons of fun playing this game and learning so much from the generous contributors to this Board, I've decided to stop playing DV.
But I didn't want to leave without warning you about having, as BFS put it, too many friends. I've given more details below, but the bottom line is that I strongly urge you to not let the number of uncollected twin gifts go above 100. That's my lesson learned.
Even though I play on an iPhone 6 with a huge amount of memory,BFS says the game itself can't handle processing the data that is required when I access the Social window. They concluded that it is because of the number of friends I have. In fact, I don't think it is a matter of having too many friends. I think it is a matter of having too many uncollected twins gifts from friends.
After many emails with Craig at BFS about the fact that my game crashes if I have the Social window open for more than approximately five seconds, Craig finally gave me BFS's definitive answer. He said that he had consulted several of the BFS gaming engineers and they had all determined that more data needs to be loaded by the game when I access the Social than the game can handle. He said that there is nothing that BFS can do about it, but he recommended that I reduce the number of friends I have.
What's weird is that he essentially glossed over the primary point I had made to him in the first place, that it is not the number of friends that is the driver of the problem, rather that it is the number of uncollected gifts from friends that is the driver of the problem. So, all BFS has to do to solve this is to let us delete unwanted gifts (specifically, unwanted twin gifts). But Craig said that they won't.
My suggestion is that you make sure that you do not accumulate more than 100 uncollected twin gifts, despite what BFS says about the number of friends being the issue. Although I did max out on the number of GC friends many weeks ago (I learned that the limit is 500), the game wasn't crashing at that point at all. What happened, though, is that I kept getting inundated with twins gifts. With no way to delete them and no way to incubate them fast enough, they accumulated. When I could last count them before the game began crashing, I had 122 uncollected twin dragons. I estimate that I now have well over 160, based on the number of notifications I've received.
In any case, I've decided it is simply too frustrating to continue, so I'm stopping. This has been a huge amount of fun, but I won't be playing going forward.
I wish you the greatest amounts of koala!
P.S. Would someone please remove my name and GCID from the coop breeding list? Thank you.

So sorry to hear this, alwaysloveddragons ! Enjoy your life after DV. *wave*
(I think you already made your decision, but I just want to point out that you can keep your 500 friends, and prevent yourself from getting more twins by marking a level 1 dragon for coop. Then you could slowly hatch your twins one after the other...)

alwaysloveddragons - sad to see you leave the forum...but I understand the frustration of continuous crashing that many members have to deal w/ days in/out. I am hoping BFS will give us option to delete unwanted twins from the Social Menu. I too had finally cleared out those gifts, such a relief to no longer see the RED Exclamation mark.
I recently helped a friend cleared out twin dragons from Social Menu. She only had 22 - 25 twins, enough to cause her game to crash.
Elysium left the market, and BFS released Halo. She decided to co op breed Elysium in the CBC only, and ignored Halo altogether.
When I logged into her acct., I moved twins w/ the least incubation time out first, hoping to releasing the bottleneck as quickly as possible. Unsure how Epics would play in term of the crash, I occasionally moved an Epic out based on the timing of the CBC. After 4 - 5 days, she is now gained control of her acct, Social Menu is cooperating w/ 4 - 5 gifts.

I think if possible, you could try looking for someone with an iPad, preferably the latest model? My assumption is that an iPad will probably have more memory than an iPhone, so it might be able to load your park.

It ain't necessarily so. My ipad3 has 32gb. My iphone6 has 128gb.

This. There's a few people here who would offer to help if you don't have RL friends or family with a device.
It is good advice about number of twins though. I think if you're not collecting them then it's probably best not to be offering sought after dragons in your CBC. This will limit the number of twins you receive.

It ain't necessarily so. My ipad3 has 32gb. My iphone6 has 128gb.
I'm not sure, but maybe the problem is RAM size? My iPhone 5 only has 1GB and is having crash problems. My iPad Air 2 with 2GB is not crashing. I'm trying to empty my gift list but it will take a while yet. I hope I don't start having problems with the iPad also.
Really happy with my gorgeous avatar by ElektronX! GCID: Andr3i4 Any and all friends for Cooperative Breeding are welcome. Gladly accepting any twins also.

All of these are excellent thoughts, but, interestingly and disturbingly, BFS did not suggest that it was a problem having anything to do with my device. I'll insert below the two most relevant excerpts from his emails to me, in chronological order. But first let me acknowledge two things: 1) having loads of GC friends that sent me hundreds of twins is a problem of my own making -- I wanted to collect twins, and by gum, I managed to get many unique twins, but I also ended up with tens of duplicates of many types; and 2) I realized that I was spending more time playing this game than I could realistically sustain, so this was probably a good catalyst to cause me to stop.
I only shared the information about my gifts/friends issue with you so that you could do what you need to do (eg, blue heart a Plant once you already have 60 uncollected twins) to avoid ending up in my situation.
So, here's what Craig eventually said, after several different days of "we've fixed your problem, and all you need to do is power cycle your device and you'll be good to go" and then me informing him that I had lost about 15 uncollected gems and 12 uncollected treats gifts.... -- "Our engineer had to claim all those gifts for you because we found that was cause the crash. What happens is some DragonVale games have so many gifts from other players that it start to impact the size of their game and when they try to pull up the social screen all those gifts force the game to crash."
Finally, here's what Craig last said to me: "I talked to one of our DragonVale engineers and it sounds like the amount of friends you have maybe the issue here. What happens when you hit the social button in game is your DragonVale game attempts to load all the data associated with each friend (from what my engineer says it's a good amount of data per user) including their friend picture, all this data creates a memory issue for DragonVale making the game size too big for DragonVale to handle and in-turn crashes your game. We highly recommend scaling back your friends list and seeing if that helps the issue. I apologize for any trouble this may create on your end."

Koalas.
Have you tried removing friends from Game Center? While I agree that the culprit is more likely the number of uncollected twin gifts, I wonder if the smaller friends list might help you get into your game long enough to start clearing these twins.

How do you remove friends from the Game Center? I haven't been able to figure it out. Some of my friends have stopped playing and it would be great to delete their links.

Hi annod, to remove friends from Game Center, go into the Friends tab and select the friend you'd like to remove. There should be an ellipsis symbol (...) at the top right. Select that and then tap "Unfriend" to remove that friend.

For those of you who are getting frustrated with the Social Menu crashing here is what I discovered: When someone gave me a Gem or Treats and I could not reciprocate immediately, I used to collect the Gem but leave their name on the list until I could gift back. Now I collect the Gem but write down their GCID on an index card and clear them immediately from my list. I am also clearing twins as soon as I get them. It seems the Social Menu works fine with no crashing as long as each time you open it you clear it. Hopefully BFS will keep working on it so the clearing is not necessary.

Go to the friends tab in game center. Seek the name of the person you want to unfriend in the list. Swipe over the name from right to left, there should open a red field saying unfriend. If you still want to remove the friend, press the red field and confirm that you are sure.

Hi everyone!
I see BEB is back. I need some help figuring out combos which can get me one or more of the dragons I'm still chasing. Any and all help will be appreciated. Thanks!

I'm just wondering - were Monolith and Snowflake introduced before the previous BEB? (I'm sorry, I just started playing again this month), and if they were originally introduced before the last BEB, and have not been given a breeding combo, is it safe to assume that it will be impossible to breed for snowflake and monoliths without already haveing one? Hey Graypaws, unfortunately, you're right. Monoliths and Snowflakes can only be bred with Monolith + Monolith and Snowflake + Snowflake, so you'll need one first to get more.

So this is a thread for you to post in if you have a few different dragons to get, and someone from the community (staff or member) will help you with combinations that will try for more than one of them ... if we can. We don't want to double up on the info found in the OP (Original Post) of the Rare Breeding thread, but we figure there's a need for specific requests from members who are trying for multiples.
So ask away.
Hello. I have a question that pertains to trying to breed the Lacuna dragon. I realize I need a Mirage with a water trait and a Shadow with an air trait. I don't have either of these and have been trying for months to figure out how to get a Mirage with water trait. In order to breed a Mirage in the rift, I need a Dark dragon and any dragon with light in it. My issue is I don't know how to get a Dark dragon into my rift. I only have a Dark Rift Dragon, no Dark and can't figure out how to get a Dark dragon in order to try to breed the Mirage with water in order to breed the Lacuna. Can someone help me? Thanks so much in advance.
