Been playing around with a few rainbow flag designs on my 2nd account, only place I have space to play. I need a design to go to my rainbow island on my primary account, currently 6 large rainbow habitats, planning to put this in the middle.
Bottom right is my favorite, but too big. Top right is was a space-saver attempt, looks awful. Too left doesn't look to bad but not the best. The one I am leaning towards is bottom left, same design as bottom right, just smaller.
Hopefully you guys can help me decide, or better yet, come up with a better design.

Lol, I LOVE flag designs! It all depends on which perspective you like; sideways (or slanted) or straight up and down. I personally like to keep my flag art as straight up as possible, but can be quite hard when the placement of objects in DV are diagonal. If you would like, I have a whole island that I experiment with these sorts of things and wouldn't mind testing some of these out (cuz I need to get rid of my old Mario design ).

Okay, so here are a few models I've tried with the rainbow design. (Oh, and the Rainbow flags means that a Large sized rainbow habitat can fit there or anywhere around it)
Upright Curved Around Portal
Upright Around Portal
Diagonal Left Around Portal (Deep)
Diagonal Left Around Portal (Shallow)
Upright Corner Around Portal
I got bored, so this is the Whole Shabang
(Not sure if a Large Rainbow habitat will fit on the top area for this one)
All these designs can be altered, flipped, and sized to your desired needs. The key is to keep it in a half hexagon-like pattern to make the sides as round as possible. As shown in this Olympic symbol, the hexagons can be turned so that the upper sides stay flat or pointed to your desired design.
Good luck!

Wow ElektronX, I am speechless!! This makes my attempts look abysmal...
I will spend some more time later to choose once I'm on my laptop.
Expect a few koala and thank you gems for your efforts!!!! Thank you so much!
I have a rainbow thingie that I am very dissatisfied with. I got sick of moving the eggs around, so just stopped here. Suggestions for making it softer are welcome. Also, not enough of each colour eggs, so I made it a gradient instead of lines. Will add more blue ones in at the bottom as fails allow.

Woah, nice egg collection there, Bliss! I really like your idea of a gradient pattern.
Softening colors of a Rainbow order would likely flow as ROY G BIV (Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet). Red=Fire/Orange=?/Yellow=Lightning/Green=Plant/Blue(lighter color)=Cold/Indigo=Water/Violet=Air. It is very hard to find an egg color corresponding to the color, orange, as Metal takes on the color black in the place of orange. The closest eggs I could find that somewhat fit this color are sun and gold eggs (but obviously we don't want to use those), so as an alternative, a Scoria or Obsidian egg matches closest to orange IMO.
As far as your layout, are you limited to using only that space? If so, you can try smoothing out the top area to a level position (like the flat side of a half-hexagon). This should give you more space around the top of your island, but those eggs may have to be moved to the bottom area of the rainbow to keep it's thickness even.
Edit: Also, the firefly eggs in your display work great for orange at a distance as well, since the egg's two primary colors mix well with the retina display.
Good luck!

Thanks, corey, though I am dissatisfied with it. Just it is moving all those things is very tedious, so I have been slow to try again.
Elektronx, yes, that is the limit of my space. I think your polygon idea might soften the hard edges a bit. Now to just have the time and patience to move them again.
Ok so I just rearranged my egg island and I don't know how I feel about it. I definitely like it better than what I had before but I don't know if I LOVE it (no pun intended given the most recent update). Thoughts??

What's not to like? It's very organized and symmetrical. I would like this set-up while acquiring my egg collection because the nursery is right there and it would be easy to check to see if an egg was missing before cashing it out.
Well, I just spent all this time doing a before/after tour of my islands. I finally caved and adjusted the islands to cram the large sun, moon, and rainbow habitats into them. So after all the time of tracking down the pics and putting it together in Notepad, it was a failure. I posted it and all the pics had errors saying that the image was no longer available. Oh well
