Just as a quick check in: are we all still crashing incessantly while panning around the park or is that just me now? It's making egg hunting rather annoying, getting to the last egg, three quarters of the way round *CRASH* and it's changed places again. Fun fun fun fun, FUN.
Turn off your orbs and crowns. Ever since I disabled mine (except for my Elders) the crashing in my park has stopped even though I have all of my animated decorations on display. Don’t forget the ones in the Rift.

My game crashes more often if I have the Pantheon in egg hunt mode than it does in full colour. I also have to go slower around the islands to try and have fewer crashes. As for resetting the eggs, yes that is all part of the fun!

Am afraid we all share the same fun ...
Besides removing orbs and crowns, I also removed the island themes. That helped too.
1. I am working on beautifing one island, and realize I have 9 Flutter Fruits, various color. I need 10 of them to conjure a sugarplum dragon. Is there a way for me to get the last Flutter Fruit? Prob not, since it has an hr glass next to the pic. Can someone tell me which event this was? Thanks.

Sugarplum is from the Winter Saga event. You should be able to pick up the missing Flutter Fruit during BEB. It’ll cost 100 gems to evolve.

That’s very interesting. I haven’t noticed this in my park. I generally take the same path when collecting from habitats, so my game always crashes at the same point. Whenever I keep the park in black and white, my game still crashes in the same place. So it doesn’t appear the Prismatic Pantheon is negatively affecting my park, at least not enough to be noticeable.

This is a wonderful tip! I’m glad it worked on your device and will hopefully help many others. Sadly, it didn’t improve my game. With orbs off, DV still insistently crashes just the same.
I’ll send another email to Backflip. If anyone else is experiencing this issue, I highly recommend they contact BFS as well. The more players who do this, the more of a priority the issue becomes, and the quicker it’ll be fixed. This is the only recourse players have. Backflip needs to understand the magnitude of the problem and that we’re not okay with it, because hobbling through your park, dismally collecting DC between crashes, is hardly enjoyable and never acceptable.
What a shame that such an original game like DragonVale has fallen to common crashes.

sorry, but I disagree. I used to play dv on an ipad 2 (from nearly the beginning of the game) At first it was all perfect but when my ipad got older there were more and more crashes. When I stopped playing the game the crashes were unsustainable. Now I play on a samsung tablet a 6 It is not the newest and best device but it works. I have nearly no crashes at all (knock on wood) maybe one crash every 14 days or so, unless I stumble over an add that is not well programmed. And the crashes I have mostly happen due to bad wlan at my home. So, it is NOT a general problem of the game
dragon list (last dragon : Gatren) DV friend id: Crumble#7733 friend link coop friends always welcome, but all my gems are spoken for

I've seen a lot of people posting, here and in several other places, about crashes that began after the last event ended. It's all the same description, players who are moving around their park, collecting from habitats, and get frequent random crashes. I'm not seeing any crashes on my device, and secondary accounts on other devices don't crash either (but do have smaller parks). But my wife is getting the occasional crash on her fairly new iPhone.
Any crashing on any device that Backflip lists as supported in the app store is their problem. If you're using hardware that they recommend and list as compatible, then it should never crash. Given the numbers of players reporting issues, there is something clearly wrong with the latest version of the game.
Programming and bugs can be fairly complex. There may be a reason you and I are not crashing while others crash on a regular basis. It could be something as simple as a specific rift trait on a specific dragon is coded wrong and when it tries to display it in the park it may overwrite a location in memory, or cause a memory leak, or a million other things. Perhaps you and I don't have this specific trait dragon out in our parks, while those who crash do. Or any number of other similar type problems that may just hit a subset of parks. Turning off all the extra display stuff (crowns, effects, etc) may help the problem for some if it's a memory leak, just by saving extra memory on the device, but that doesn't mean the game is working correctly for those players.
It's always good to report crashes to Backflip, but the hardest bugs to fix are ones you can't reproduce every time. If anyone can find exact steps to follow to cause the game to always crash at the same point, that's usually the most helpful information that you can send them.
Quil, I normally play on a newish iPad Pro, on which I do not have crashes. I DO however get them when I try to play it on my iPhone 7. It is always when moving around the park, and I notice it mostly when going to the rift to collect from habitats. I will try to pay closer attention to what and when it happens.

The crashing issue is a problem for iOS users. If you’re on a Samsung, you’re not going to experience crashes. At least not yet.
To give a little history and help you see why this issue is so frustrating, the crashes began with the March 28th update (4.13.2). As a result of this update, iPhone 6 and older devices, and older iPads could not load the game. iPhone 6s, iPhone 7, iPhone 8, and iPad Air 2 users experienced frequent crashes. iPadPro and iPhone X were not affected (I haven’t heard any complaints from iPhone X users, so it appears they weren’t riddled with crashes). Also, smaller parks weren’t affected, but they will inevitably grow into crash-dom. The last update (4.14.0) fixed the loading issue, which is fantastic. That was clearly the priority, and I’m very happy Backflip got it done before the event started. But the update did not address the crash problems for iPhone 6s - 8 and iPad Air 2. So here we are, over three weeks later and we’re still getting kicked out of the game while we attempt to collect DC, search for eggs, visit the Rift, set up quests, breed dragons, or press any buttons. This isn’t a new problem. It’s old. And it’s growing older with every crash.
My biggest concern is that Backflip has put this issue on the back burner and won’t properly address it until the event is over. There’s still 24 days left in this event. By then, we will have endured constant crashes for seven long weeks. And what’s worse, the problem may intensify and crashes become more frequent. I’ve already noticed a slight increase. This is why I encourage players to contact Backflip and let them know that the problem persists, and it is still very much a problem.
So that’s the situation we’re stuck in. I’m glad non-iOS players and players with small parks can play the game crash-free. That’s how it should be. But that doesn’t mean the bug-less experience is shared by everyone. And unfortunately, until Backflip fixes the problem, you’re going to hear a lot of iOS users complain. As they should.

Not too surprisingly, my game sometimes crashes when I send gems/treats. After I reopen DV, it looks like the gems/treats were sent because I can’t send any more to that person. But I have no idea if they were truly delivered. If you’re one of my daily gem/treat exchanges, and you don’t receive any, please message me and I’ll resend after the game resets.

I play on an iPad Pro too, not on my iph6s- couldnt cope w a screen that small, and have v slow load times for breeding pair selection in the Vale, Rift, and event island, but so far, 🤞that’s the only issue

Can someone please help. If I put a dragon in the CBC, then blue heart a dragon not in the CBC, then breed that blue hearted dragon elsewhere, does it lose the blue heart? (major confusing run on sentence...ugh) Thanks!!!

adlerist Your comment made me doubt myself - not necessarily a bad thing! This morning I 'fired up' the Pantheon into egg hunt mode before I did anything else. Next I reset my treats, cleared my breedings and did the rebreeds. Off to the colosseum, watched the ad after which it went into 'jerk' mode, so unplayable and I had to exit and restart. Not sure if this is caused by the Pantheon or not, but I don't usually have this problem after watching the ad.
In my second park I cleared and redid breedings, treats, colosseum and mythic dragons before making the Pantheon active. I can usually get right around the park and clear all the habitats (not rift) in the first sweep of the day before it crashes. Today it crashed a few islands before the end.
I'm wondering if it is making the Pantheon active which causes the game to crash as it uses more resources/memory to set up and for the first visit of the day there is only so much 'selecting' it can fit in before crashing. Perhaps if I left it in black and white it would be fine. I change back to colour once I've found all the eggs and flag bearers.
I am going to regret asking this next question because it will sound really silly. My egg counter stops counting. I have currently 10,450 eggs, and flying eggs were flying right to left..but the egg counter shows same 10,450. What did I miss? Thank you!!

There is a cap on the number of eggs that you can collect from habitats this event - 500 ordinary days and 1000 on double days. There aren't as many ways to collect eggs in this event - habitats, Tolzar's Visions, Burcadian Breeding Cave, Colosseum, Arcade Game and hidden eggs.
