New Rigel dragon available starting today, for one week. It's a new Galaxy dragon. In order to get it, you must first own all other Galaxy dragons in your park. Then you must breed two galaxy dragons with rift elements together in the rift. Even meeting the criteria, the odds of this thing will be very low. Think original Chromacorn. Or you can buy it for the low cost of 6k gems!
Also back in the rift market, the Galaxy Egg of Mystery.
Got excited for a minute but post-update I'm still crashing on iPhone 8.
😢🎻
Hopefully it at least improves it for some.
I also play DV on my iPhone 8 Plus, have yet encountered any crash. I got loads of in open gifts. DV works great on my end.
The crashes are a result of the March 28th update (two updates ago) and affect all iOS devices with less than 3GB RAM. Newer phones (iPhone XR, XS) and the iPad Pro family aren’t experiencing crashes because they have 4GB RAM. iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X have 3GB, but until now I had not heard from any iPhone 8 Plus or X users, so it seemed fair to say that 3GB was the minimum requirement to be freed of crashes. Thank you for verifying this!

I haven't been following this issue, really, but from what you've said, I'd expect that mine should crash, but it hasn't. I'm on an iPhone 6s Plus - 2GB RAM, I think? No idea what I'm doing right or different, though. I have a ton of windows simultaneously open on Safari and loads in open gifts (eggs and such from the last events)... I'm crossing my fingers that mine will still be ok in the future!

your info is quite helpful but where from do you know that we have to have all Galaxy dragons before having a chance at this new dragon. I just can't find this information in the game ?

When in the Rift, click on your breeding island then on "breeding hints". Explanation is there free of charge (can t belief there is something free of charge in this game these days lol).
How do you breed rifted galaxies? I thought galaxy dragons could only breed in the coop....
Initially from Rgalaxy eggs...
I checked, and I already had two rifted galaxy dragons. Must have been daily login rewards along the way since I had all the galaxy dragons. So, at least I have a chance at Rigel.

Or you may have bought galaxy eggs from the Rift egg market last time? That’s how I got mine.
Nogard and several others are currently sharing Galaxy Dragons in the co-op for those that don't have all galaxy dragons. I'm guessing that they will cycle through them all over the next six days.

I have been considering buying an iPad 6th generation, but it only has 2GB RAM. Does anyone here play on an iPad 6th generation? Any problems?
Is it possible to transfer my IOS Dragonvale game to an Android tablet without using Facebook? I use an android phone, the iPad2 is the only IOS device I possess and if I'm going to upgrade would I be better to buy Android?

iPhone 6 Plus has 1GB RAM (the issue with that device’s inability to load the game was fixed a month ago with update 4.14.0). iPhone 6s Plus has 2GB RAM. You’re very fortunate if you didn’t experience crashes with this device. The size of your park (amount of animation in your park), the number of gifts you have pending in your Gifts menu, etc all add to and increase the crash problem. Perhaps you haven’t met that threshold yet. If you do, at least the low resolution mode is now available.

The iPad 6th gen will likely have crash issues unless you use the low resolution mode. Interestingly, the last update installed the low res option on Android parks as well, even though they haven’t been prone to crashes. I guess Backflip anticipates this to be an upcoming problem and 'please use low resolution' will be the new answer if any players complain about crashes.
Personally, I’d ask Backflip for assistance in transferring a park from Apple to Android without FB. Better safe than no park. Horrors.
I don’t think Apple is better than Android or vice versa. It’s really just up to user preference. As far as DV is concerned, it’s impossible to say what device will be the next crash problem. I wouldn’t buy anything based on this game (I realise you’re not, just reaffirming my stance so I don’t fold like a paper lantern and buy an iPad Pro).

Lots of weird happenings with the Dragonarium. Forest and Tree are in the rift only section and now all rift exclusives are showing up in each elemental section.

you can transfer your park from ios to android ( that's what BFS made with mine) but I think that you'll need at least a fake facebook account. Otherwise you won't be able to save your park. You can make a facebook account without being visible for anybody. Your ios friends can be friended in-game and cross platform. I personally find that ipads are too expensive. I play on a relatively cheap android tablet without any problems.

I don't have forest or tree in the rift section but I do have dodo, malachite, ooze and wisp. Strange

You can link your park to a google account now, so you might want to test that to see if that works. (It's in the options section under switch park.)
Also, fake FB accounts have been known to get deleted or purged by FB at times, especially if it's obvious. Better to just create a real one that has no public information and use that, or as someone else said, try a Google account link instead. I use my park on both ios and android devices with no issues, going back and forth, with FB linked. I'll run DV on my computer at times using an android emulator.

On this whole topic of RAM vs memory and what generation device struggles, please check out Quil’s posts on the most recent one or two pages of the event thread i would hotlink, but it’s not working for me atm; Quil, you might like to do the honours? Or/and put a link in the ED?

Nah, I don’t buy the eggs from the market. Pretty sure they were login reward eggs. Still no luck with Rigel, though.

Dumb question (for someone you has played this game for years): When I want to clone a dragon in the coop (for example a Galaxy dragon from my friend), can I use any dragon on my side or does it have to be an epic ?
and another question : if I have 2 Galaxy dragons of the same type, will it be possible to clone them in the normal cave or will I have to use the coop with a friends edragon?
Edit: really dumb : since I have cloned a Faux dragon with a friends Faux and my Elder Fire it does not have to be an epic
but the second question is still there

You answered the first, and it's true that you can clone most Galaxy dragons with anything (such as an elder element dragon). The exception would be the new rift dragon, which also requires the rift. Galaxy dragons work a bit different, so it is worth asking just to be sure.
For the second question, you generally can't breed Galaxy + Galaxy outside of the social cave except during a special event (like Starfall). It was assumed that you could clone them, but testing over the past two days is showing that you can not clone them in any cave except social. I've seen a couple of hundred breeds with no parent cloning in the rift, and I've not yet heard from a player who has successfully cloned a Galaxy dragon while trying for the Rigel.
