1. Dragonarium is now more colour-coded. The banner under each dragon is either white (element), lime green (basic hybrid), blue (rare hybrid), purple (epic), pink (mythic), light blue (galaxy), orange (gemstone). Some/most of these were already in place.
2. Twin pedestals now glow, kinda like the ghostly pedestals.
For comparison, here are the pedestals for Lava, Lava Rift, Lava twin, Ghostly Lava, Ghostly Lava twin.
It’d be nice if we had lots of time to enjoy these new improvements.
I didn’t notice this, thanks for that. There are things like this that make me think this game isn’t quitting in a few weeks. Why would they bother, unless it was unintentional. Just an error, maybe.
Or, of course, if the last staff member is just having fun, bored out of his wits, giving us our last present. Making everything cool for us at Christmas, could be.

Not sure if anyone noticed this, but ever since the app update they've added a new section under options that says "Do not sell my data." I might be wrong, but I don't remember seeing that before.
The optimist in me wonders if they are doing this to make a little extra money and keep the game going. Which is fine by me, they can sell all my data that they want.

I want a regular Mesolite pedestal. Tried while it was available but no luck. I purchased an egg in the rift and got a twin Mesolite. I already have that pedestal. But is it possible to hatch it and breed Mesolite and Mesolite? Or will I be wasting my time? Mesolite is not listed in the sandbox.

Gemstones and Crystallines can’t breed together except for during the Shimmering Solstice event. For the Gemstones and Crystallines that you need pedestals for, I suggest trying to breed them in the month they are available (like you did) and if you don’t get it, pay the gems to get the pedestal right before it expires if you can afford to spend the gems. 😊

Realized after posting I was grasping at straws and can’t breed crystalline. Was going to remove the post but you were faster than me. I really wanted to complete the collection. Will check the gem budget.

Speaking of gemstones and crystallines, I finally completed my gemstone dragon collection. I kept getting gemstone dragons as part of my daily rewards, then I checked my dragonarium a couple days ago and suddenly realized that I have them all.
I finished collecting all the crystalline dragons about a year ago. So now all I have to do is sit back and let them earn gems for me.

Maybe there’s still some hope for Dragonvale..... I just fired up Dragonvale World. It was supposed to be buttoned up and unplayable by Dec 20, but it fired up just fine and seems to be fully operational gamewise. I didn’t try any in-game purchases other than using gems. But the server seems to still be active. So maybe Dragonvale won’t just go poof in a puff of wizard smoke.

That's not all. If you type "DragonVale World download" into a search engine (I used duckduckgo) the first thing that comes up is a site called APKpure where the game is still available for download.
I tried to download it out of curiosity, and apparently it still works. You can download it from there if you want, but the catch is that the game's not available for download if you go to the site and search for DragonVale World. You have find it with an offsite search engine in order for it to be available.

Just having a moan, cos , you know, Season of Bah Humbug and all that I reeaallly don’t like the new twin egg effect, I have to hatch them to work out if they’re a ghostly...bah humbug

Just to let everyone know, several hours ago a player on Reddit posted a screenshot of a partial Instagram post stating that DV 'will keep running under new owners'. I searched for the original post on Instagram, and here it is in its entirety:
It’s not clear who the new owners are, but since Hasbro gained ownership in 2013, it’s not them. One thing I curiously keep coming back to is the 30%. BFS sold a 70% stake in the company to Hasbro. The owner(s) of the 30% might have an interest in retaining the game.
In addition to the mysterious new owners, it’s also not clear if DV will have new content, or if a bot will be involved. Perusing the replies to this IG post, there is some indication that the owners will operate DV in full with new content and ideas:
I just want to emphasise that EVERYTHING REMAINS SPECULATION UNTIL WE HEAR CONFIRMATION FROM BACKFLIP, HASBRO, AND/OR THE NEW OWNERS. While I don’t want to spread wild rumours or raise anyone’s expectations, I do want to keep forum members informed of what’s being discussed about DV on other social media sites.
It’s certainly something to discuss over Xmas dinner tonight. Enjoy!

Not gonna lie, I have tears in my eyes reading that post. Part of me is immensely happy knowing that there's a chance for us to keep playing our game. The other half of me is crying for those poor people. I mean think about it. You bond with people and create friendships over time, growing closer together through the game you love, kind of like the people on this forum.
I wish them all the best in their future endeavors. It must be really hard for them right now, but maybe this is their chance to move on to bigger and better things.

It would be amazing if DragonVale will be kept running under new owners. Perhaps this is why we had the new privacy policy with the last update.
