What's the thought on gem cost for the new island? 125 like the EBI?
I think it's going to depend on how fast they make gems. Personally I don't think they're going to be fast producers, maybe one a day. So you get 12 gems a day once you've got all 12 birthstones. (Which actually raises another question, will they cap everyone at only being able to get 1 of each of these dragons, or will they let you get 12 Emerald Dragons?) So how much is 12 gems a day worth? In 10 days you've got your 120 gems back. And now that I'm typing that it seems like a really big number. But if it is 1 a day then you'd put a bigger price on the gem island. I'm thinking it will be closer to 1 or 2 gems a week earning from the new dragons. And the less they produce the cheaper the island.
I guess you've also got to factor in how hard they are to breed. If they're a Sun/Moon type rare, then it should be cheaper still, as they're habitats are relatively cheap because the dragons are so hard to get.
Sneak Peek! Gemstone Island and a new class of Gem Dragons are coming soon to DragonVale. There will be a new Gem Dragon available each month based on that month's birthstone.

Maybe I missed some posts regarding this new gemstone island and the accompanying dragons. Forgive me if this is repeating stuff that's already been said...
...but...
...I'm wondering:
1.). If this new island and dragons will all be priced for gems only, seeing as how the dragons give gems.
2.) Since the island looks different than the other six (similar to how the EBI looks different,) if it will also be unable to be decorated (again, similar to the EBI.)
3.) if these new dragons will be able to be bred at all. (might stand to reason, at least initially, that they won't, seeing as how there's a plan for a new one each month.)

Just curious! No complaints really... lol
1. No idea about the island, it's certainly possible like the EBI was. The dragons certainly will be gems only, because they'll all be breedable. The only dragons you buy for DC are dragons you can't breed.
2. Seems a safe bet. It's a new one like the EBI and it's already so intricately designed, not the blank canvas like the normal islands.
3. They must be able to be bred because that's what this game is all about. A dragon you can't breed is entirely pointless. I'm thinking it's a new species with a rare element, like sun, moon and rainbow. It will be a Gemstone species and the trick will be in working out the combination required to breed them (like you need 4 elements for rainbow and lightning cold for sun/moon).
Fun times ahead. Especially this first time as we'll only have 2 weeks to get it (I'm assuming) till Pearl Dragon is released, then a new one each month after that. Woot Woot!
