I have 5 sun and 5 moon. I just haven't had the heart to shut down my oly ranch I have 10 habitats there......
Yeah, it is hard to do. I bred about 30 gold olympus dragons back in the day when they were the best money earners (unless you could check your park every hour with an army of Panlongs).
But if you have 3 limited sun/moon dragons (with Solstice being the quickest to breed), you'll earn an extra $366/min having a Large Sun with 3 x Solstice as opposed to an Olympus with 3 Gold Olys.
That works out to be over $500K per day, per habitat! So even the $5m purchase price for the Large Sun habitat will be paid off very quickly (and bear in mind you can always recoup $2.5m when / if you sell them).
On that note, the Gold Olys sell for $2m a pop as well, so I don't mind the time spent breeding them. They earnt me some good cash while they were the best available option. Now I am retiring them. All the limited Moon/Sun dragons sell for around $2m as well from memory, so again, they won't be wasted if / when something more lucrative comes along.
I'm going to hold them all for now though, just in case they release an epic shrine.
I'm hoping they'll release Giant Moon/Sun habitats. You'd be able to rake in some serious cash if they did that!

No, no, no!!! Both cave and island have 48 hour dragons breeding. Soooo want the Emerald egg. Still have 38 hours after Karios for both. (Sad face and whining).

This is very interesting. I'm still in my mid 30's level wise, so I still have many goals and dragons to achieve, but I've just been looking at my park trying to puzzle out the best way to maximize more cash. Thanks to the new giant habitats I've got a mini Century army going. And I'm thinking maybe a Love dragon or Rose army. Oh note: I don't have panlong, just missed the boat on that one. But this is great info about the sun/moon limiteds!

If you don't have any Panlongs, sun/moon limiteds are your best option by far.
Panlongs technically earn more, but only if you are willing / able to check your park at least 12-15 times per day, plus they require you to purchase giant habitats (i.e. pay a lot of gems). And for all that effort and all those gems, they don't net you much more cash at all.
With the limited Sun/Moons (Solstice is my favourite as it has the shortest breed time), you only need to check once per day and will earn a whopping $1,365,120 per day per habitat!
The habitat itself is expensive ($5m), but better than paying gems for the giant habitats. And besides, you can always sell the habitats later for $2.5m if you don't want them anymore. You also have the added benefit of not being at the max level, so you will net yourself a LOT of experience just buying the habitats.
I thought I was all squared away with limited dragons this month, since I managed to get an Emerald, a Bouquet, a Solar Eclipse, and just today my first Spring. Now I see a notice that Century is leaving May 18! Does anyone have some good Century suggestions? Once my cave and island clear out, I'll be working for a Century...
I got both of mine with river and iceberg dragons, but both took quite a while. The bummer is that even if you get the 8 or 10 hour breeding time (depending on if the cave/island is upgraded), you still don't know if it's a century or a glacier until they are done breeding. I think I bred about a million mountains and glaciers waiting for those centuries. I hope your luck is better!
May I present my new and improved egg island. Backflip, expect a bill for an eye exam, a new paid of glasses, and carpal tunnel surgery. Moving all those eggs around was ridic!

Ok, I have a question about breeding Limited Dragons. I have a Lunar Eclipse and a Solar Eclipse. According to the Breeding Sandbox, breeding them would result in another Lunar Eclipse or Solar Eclipse. Will they only be able to breed this way if one of them is currently available, or can I breed them later, after the Solar Eclipse has left the market?
GCID- peanutzmom:) And yes, you need to include the smiley face
I give gems randomly to those who seem to need them because I'm not organized enough to keep a list, but I'm always looking for more Party Hat friends!

Thanks, Ninjakiwi! That means I can keep breeding for my Century and second Emerald, and save Eclipses for later!

That looks totally awesome. What a lot of work you put into it.

It's always a 50/50 shot when you combine any of the Sun/Moon Limiteds.
The possible exception to that might be Blue Moon + Moon during the actual Blue Moon event. Since normal Moon dragons don't breed during that time, that combo should have a 100% chance of producing a Blue Moon.
Not real sure on that one, as I wasn't around during the last event...
For the record, I believe it works differnetly for the Rainbow Limiteds: any non matched breeding pair will always produces a Rainbow.
Ok thanks for explaining. I needed another equinox anyway so its not a problem. I was just confuzzled.
I tend to distribute my spare gems to those who look like they need them so please don't feel you have to return if you get one from me!
My GN won't let me in regularly so please don't send me gizmonauts crystals. I can't use or return them!
