Just got my first Pearl breeding! Kinda disappointed in the loooong times on this shiny new dragon, but I'm assuming it's pretty rare and that it's not limited. It's getting a little exhausting as a newer player scrambling from one limited to the next.
I did just silver some shrines, are there any must haves I should take to 15 first? I did butterfly and bouquet just because I like them, and blazing for a reason I can't remember. Does breeding with level 15+ parents have a noticeable difference?
Dragons to breed: Clover, Sakura, Diamond, Peridot, SOly, GOly, Bronze and Silver SnOlys, DR, Malachite, and four light and dark hybrids.
Is Panlong, with water and fire boosts, still the highest DC paying dragon? My level 15 is paying 411/min. I've been thinking to clear an island and set it up with just Panlongs in huge earth habitats with the water and fire boosts. Anyone care to share their thoughts?
It certainly is. As long as you can tap every hour and a half or so, you won't earn any faster.
And any other 4 element dragon we have to breed in the future. Once you've got the DR's that you want, it's really going to mess with us down the track. Seems they've made it super rare, though, to try and help there.
My sincere congratulations, Viviane! It's amazing you can breed this one so quickly!

Missing: not for the time being
My plan for this dragon is to keep going with Snow + Seaweed in the EBI (I already got my Pearl egg brewing at the moment, but might as well try to knock off the Pearl goal as well seeing as I'm going to be breeding for the DR now anyway) and Seaweed + Firefly in the Cave.
First shot in the cave was a Coral, so I might be going for a while haha. I'll probably net another Pearl before the DR, so will go Seaweed and Firefly in both locations at that point, or until a new dragon comes out.

I don't mind this as I currently have 4 large rainbow habitats. Each DR earns more $$$, so if I get one as a fail, I'll just replace the rainbow dragons I already have.
If I get really unlucky (or lucky, depending on how you view it) and get heaps of DR in the future, I could slowly remove my Large Sun and Moon habitats and replace with large rainbow. I'd never do this on purpose, as the gain is pretty marginal. But better than selling off a 60 hour fail!
So, the question is, I have level 20 Panlong and Paper. Should I try that combo for the Double Rainbow? Would the results of Seasonal and Rainbow out weigh the Double?

I don't think there has been any real evidence of Level 20 dragons actually helping much at all.
Breeding a Double Rainbow with a Rainbow, Leap Year or Celtic will result in a Double Rainbow about 25% of the time, and a regular Rainbow otherwise.
Which doesn't make sense to me. My understanding is that in the past breeding two of the same dragons *always* results in that dragon. Is this poorly written? Do they mean Rainbow + Leap, or Rainbow + Celtic will produce a Rainbow 75% of the time and a double Rainbow 25% of the time? Which also doesn't make sense to me. Why wouldn't Leaps and Celtics pop up?
It would be great if those with "test accounts" could check it out.
Thanks, Poppy

ManoMan, 60+48 hours is a long time to wait to get one. It's gonna take a while to phase out your other min/max DC strategy to replace with this one.
True. Probably not worth the effort of switching over for those that already have an army of Solstice dragons.
60000/hour for double Double Rainbow vs 56880/hour for tripple Sun/Moon limiteds should mean a difference of 74,880 DC/day/habitat.
The other consideration is the cost of the Large Rainbow habitat. It would take over 4 months for the additional $75K per day to pay off the purchase price of the habitat.
On top of that, you don't earn anything for 2 days while the dragons are going at it in the breeding cave - It'll take over a month longer just to pay off the $2.88m you lose in earnings (that the DRs would have earned) while they are breeding.
So all in all, it takes nearly 6 months (!!!) for the incremental increase in earning power to make up for the lost earnings and the cost of the rainbow habitats.
This is why I am not going to intentionally breed these guys together. But should I get one as a fail, I'll definitely swap out a Rainbow or Leap Year for a DR.

If you are only going to do one island, then level 19 Fire + Water boosted Panlong dragons in Giant Earth Habitats produce the highest DC/Min. Five of them in a Giant Earth Habitat will produce 2700 DC/Min.
If you were going to do two islands, the second one should have level 20 Earth + Plant boosted Paper dragons. They produce more than unboosted Panlong Dragons. Five of them in a Giant Earth Habitat produce 2160 DC/min.
In third place, you have level 10 Double Rainbow Dragons. Two of them in a Large Rainbow Habitat produce 1000 DC/Min
If you cared about nothing but DC/Min you could have 50 Panlongs, 50 Paper and 48 Double Rainbow Dragons spread out over 44 habitats and you would make 72600 DC/Min... which is 4,356,000 DC/Hour assuming you can sweep your park often enough...
It may be worth it to give up some Paper Dragon slots to keep a constant supply of Iron Dragons cooking. I'm also assuming you can only fit 10 Giant Earth Habitats on an island. If it's actually 11 then that changes the numbers slightly...
Regardless, this is a a fairly unrealistic strategy for most folks due to the high sweep frequency. The Panlongs and Paper dragons end up losing money if at any point in the day you can't check your park at least once every 55 minutes.
You know, like while you are sleeping
For less stress, the Double Rainbow Dragons should be are much easier to manage long term, since their habitat takes 25 hours to fill up completely.
Assuming you had 44 large rainbow habitats worth of Double Rainbow Dragons, sweeping only once a day would earn you 63,360,000 DC/day.
To get the superior results out of the Panlong/Paper/Double Rainbow strategy you would need to sweep 15 times a day over a period of approximately 14 hours...
And this is strictly talking DC/min. Doesn't factor in the considerable setup costs in habitat construction/upgrades, the dragon treats necessary to raise the dragons or the time investment required to produce the various armies...

According to the Sandbox, it is a fail for both my Pearl breeding and my Butterfly/Rainbow breeding, so I'm happy I can continue my current breeding strategy and also have a chance at a double rainbow in both breeding locations. I still don't have a regular rainbow, so I'm not sure what my chances at a double rainbow are.
Any news on what the results are if you breed a double rainbow with Celtic/LYD/Rainbow?
OMG! I think I just got the Double Rainbow as a Pearl fail (level 15 parents), only my second breeding attempt since Double Rainbow became available. I can't think of anything else that would breed in the EBI for 48 hours! That would be amazing luck, and finally put a regular rainbow within my grasp!
Eggs (Dragons) to Collect: Vortex (1), Barite, Pyrite, Quartz, Celerulean, Nebula, Rayleian, Teidian (1) Twin Eggs (Dragons) to Collect: Many
Not really sure. The only other rainbow that I can think of is a Fire Rainbow, probably the rarest one there is. There are usually created from hexagonal ice crystals afloat in high-level cirrus clouds, AND sunlight has to hit it at one specific angle (46) to reveal it.

I read the new rainbow decoration's description and got excited.
