After reading about Poppy's painful Dream experience, am very happy to get my first Dream with only one major DR fail. Didn't get the Sulfur or Orchid fails along the way, either.
Hang in there people, success will come. Deal with the fails however it makes you feel the best.
I'm in the same boat and to be honest I'm not looking forward to where this boat is headed. Soon most breeding combinations are going to have ricidiously long fails at the rate of which BFS is introducing epics :/
Maybe that's another reason they are looking at introducing a sequel game? Because this is inevitable.
It's inevitable, but it's a manageable problem if they make dragons have a higher breeding chance, to balance out the increased fails.
Not entirely true. Sometimes they release the old limiteds before they release any new ones (perhaps to give people time to get them before trying for the new ones). I think an example of this was the Halloween dragons. They released Bone and Ghost before Zombie. So there's still a chance

True, they do tend to release the old ones before the newer Limiteds...

I hope so.
Personally, I consider Sprout a Mother's Day dragon. (Mother-Child... see?) Though I guess it could have substituted for both. There's even a Kid's TV channel called Sprout

Definitely agree that it's a manageable problem, but increasing breeding chances could work either way. For example, some might get fed up with never getting a dragon.
I think that they need to start being specific with breeding combinations for epic dragons from now on like how the sun and moon dragon requires Storm. And if they are really taking their players into consideration limit the four element combinations, because that's a double whammy fail with 48/60 hours.

Sun and Moon don't require Storm. They need any combination of Cold and Lightning in the parents. And right now, I think they are being specific considering that you can buy the breeding hint which tells you exactly what you need. This is why I found the Gemstone dragons pretty exciting. When they were first released, no one knew what the combos were so it was a trial and error until it was found and shared with everyone. I do agree with the Rainbow however, it gets disappointing when you keep getting them over and over (ahem Dream). It would be awesome if Rainbows were breed with 5 elements. However that would lock out anyone from getting them unless you had a 3+ limited element dragon...so probably not a good idea.
Yes, I think it is the combination of requiring 4 different elements PLUS lower breeding probability than rainbow and double rainbow that is the problem. Even an equal probability with rainbow/dr would be easier to take and not so discouraging. That said, I do love my rainbows. Maybe getting them as fails would be more welcome if we had new bigger capacity (same size) rainbow habitats! That would take some of the sting out...

I now have 3 DRs in my park1 nursery. The odds must be different now Dream is in the mix...
Kindle park1: nearly all dragons are frolicking in their habitats! (A Thorny little problem to resolve...)
Smartphone park2: Geode, a dragon with rocks in! Still to breed 4 dragons...
Note that today's desired dragon is going to become tomorrow's "Not another Rainbow/Double rainbow/Dream"...

I have not gotten a single Rainbow or Double Rainbow in my search for Dream yet. And I've been breeding constantly since it came out. We don't know what the odds are.

I am with you except that I have bred one DR which I actually used when the extra habitats came out as I had a Rainbow in the HC. I would like to see a second Dream and the egg, however it is no where near as frustrating as all the Forges I have gotten with looking for a second Sulphur with Fire and Metal. Koala to all
Looking around and enjoying life!
All Dragons are safely in their habitats or in the HC

Yes. Yes! YES!!! The Dream is here! Quarter past three in the morning and I finally get the 40h! Perhaps I'll finally get to see the Dragonarium breath fire
Or not. Hatching is 90h away...

Where are you getting this information?
Has anyone actually tested it yet?
I am getting it from the sandbox, Dream odds are said to be 0.5% cave, 1% island; Rainbow is 1% cave, 2% island. I know the sandbox odds aren't always precise, but they are an indication, right?
I've gotten another Rainbow and another DR breeding for Dream. Kind of ironic that that the game has been ruined for me by continuous Rainbow and DR fails.

That's what I figured.
When robo updated the sandbox database, he needed something to plug in there. So he guessed that it was about as rare as a double rainbow and just used the same values.
Mind you, that could may well turn out to be true, but we won't know that until someone takes the time to do some actual testing...
