Huh, strange to get rid of negative boosts. I. Didnt pay attention to boosts. I did at first and tried to set up my islands accordingly but after a while I just started to do whatever. Don't know if this'll change anything or not... probably not!

if you put things wherever, you may find an increase in your DC as the negatives are now cancelled.
Kindle park1: nearly all dragons are frolicking in their habitats! (A Thorny little problem to resolve...)
Smartphone park2: Geode, a dragon with rocks in! Still to breed 4 dragons...

Hm, yes. I just checked. I had my boosts places on islands where their habitats were. So, earth boost on earth island... negative boosting my panlongs and eath opposites. But now I quess they're earning more!

I bred DR/DR when there is nothing to breed. I read this kind of discussion throught this Forum several times. What you are saying is true for a short term. However, if you plan to play for more than a year, my approach is not that bad. Actually the real reason that I bred so many DRs is because I anticipte we will have Giant Rainbow Habitat someday.
I am bringing back an old topic/discussion, my thoughts may be jumble, as I am pressed for time, and I think much faster, than I type...(Dont know if anybody even remember the posts/conversation), maybe BS does.
At the time of the discussion between an army of Soltice Vs. an island of DRs, I did my own calculation and the break even point for them was at around 152 days (I remember 1/2 year vividly, for some reason 152 days stuck w/ me), but not a year like someone may have believe.
I basically solved for X. X equals to the break even point, and it would take aprrox. 152 days for DRs to catch up to Soltice. After that DRs. will surpass Soltice in earning.
I did not share my calculation because
- I was new - My chicken scratch hand-writing was on a letter size paper, and it meant I had to redo it a presentable manner - How this member arrived at a year time frame did not sit right w/ me, so I did one for ME, out of curiosity, nothing more. - Dont think anyone would care as we all play differently.
You approach is not bad at all. Your Drs. have earned you so much DC already.
It was pjsteel. He was obsessive about optimizing his park for DC. He has now stopped playing
I was not saying climo should not breed DR together, just to be aware that there is a cost. There always is when you breed two dragons. For example, from an earnings perspective, it is better to breed Shadow rather than Drift when trying for Dream as it earns much less, so the cost of breeding is less. The comment was more directed at newbies who may not realise this.
Personally, I used to fret about optimizing earnings, but I don't anymore. But I am aware of the issues, and point them out now and again for the benefit of new players who may not have realised the unintended consequences of their actions.

After the negative effect was removed, I boosted my Giant Dark Reawrd Habitat with both light and dark boosts. I have three Dark Rift at level 18 and two at level 16. It gives 1,158 DC per minute. I also have the Large Light Reward Habitat on the same island with two Light Rift at level 18 and a Luminous at level 18. It is also earning a good amount of DCs.

Really? Just how does one go about optimizing "earrings". Have made "earrings" for many years, out of many materials, but have never come across a need or a customer requiring optimization.

I plead the iPad defence.

Your ipad lacks a fence? Mine doesn't have one either, but I know better than to try to optimize earrings. You have very strange notions... I think you desperately need to try that dragon-free diet. It will do wonders for you.

Currently breeding for whatever twins I can possibly get my hands on
Decided to do a couple gem dragon races while I waited a few minutes to speed something up. I didn't win a gem, but I got a good laugh when one of my competitors was a leaf dragon. His racing stride was a curled up bouncing roll that was quite hilarious (and distracting) to watch. I will admit that I did not win that race, but I enjoyed it immensely.

GD - I understand your well intended post perfectly.
I only replied to climo's post, specifically to this stmt "I bred DR/DR when there is nothing to breed. I read this kind of discussion throught this Forum several times. What you are saying is true for a short term. However, if you plan to play for more than a year, my approach is not that bad."
I basically share my thought, and calculation at the time...all is but history, now.
I still need a Prism Dragon...been trying since it came out...might need to sacrifice some gems come Sunday night.
You will have Prism before Sunday. We have DV wizards in disguise in our community, and most of the time they hear our whines, and grant us the dragon right after. Hmm, I hope they open for business on weekends.

In that case, I need a leaf! I've been breeding constantly since they came out, and no luck yet.

Wapa, come talk to my dragons.
Well, I talked to them, but I'm not sure how well they listened. They just kept complaining about how bright the sun was, and how loud the birds were, and how much they missed the crickets. If they don't produce at least one leaf tomorrow, I asked for two, let me know, and I will return for another chat.
