Got my first Aurora breeding from trying for Snowflake 3 and Snowflake 4! And a whole lot of Snowflake 1 and Snowflake 2 from my (now dual) Snowflake 1 + Snowflake 2 breeding. I'll tally it all up once BEB ends
One of my goals was to get a light rift and a dark rift dragon. Once I had 2 light rift dragons, I bred them together in hopes of a dark rift. Looking at Breeding Sandbox, that seemed the most logical way to go, but now I'm sitting here with 5 light rift dragons and a rapidly diminishing window of opportunity. Maybe that is not the best strategy?
What are the dragons that only return during a BEB event?
Koala!
Panlong, Apocalypse, Century, Bicentennial. And on a longer than normal trajectory, Blue Moon and Leap Year. Technically Panlong is on a long trajectory too, but 48 years ( time to repeat water dragon in the Chinese horoscope ) is longer than most of us will be playing.
What about dawn, dusk, and the rifts? Im playing since august and missing them too.

Yep. Them too. I didn't add the Rifts as the original question was already talking about the Rifts, but I did forget Dawn, Dusk.

Thanks for the link. And it's fine to post to that forum. They are good people and we have an open policy. In fact it's obviously better to openly source them for the info we get from there. Credit where credit is due.
I didn't get a popup for Frostbite, I got a popup for Garnet ?! We have January 17th ! Why yet ?
On another note I'd like to remember all that the limited decorations will not be available anymore when the BEB is over. So make sure that you have all stuff that you want.

So want to grab some themes to do some decorating, but I don't think I would use one of each, and with the price being 10 themes for the price of 9 ... well it doesn't strike me as much of a deal. So at this point I'm just thinking of buying them as I use them. Have they had many deals or specials since they introduced them? What are your thoughts? What have other people done?

When they first came in, I bought e of the ones that I liked, and got gifted others as rewards in events. I have not bothered with any of the discounted packages.
Kindle park1: nearly all dragons are frolicking in their habitats! (A Thorny little problem to resolve...)
Smartphone park2: Geode, a dragon with rocks in! Still to breed 4 dragons...
*sigh*. 1 egg from completion... All set to spend gems to get it... And then Aurora shows up. I don't mind limited dragons. But limited dragons with a 1% breed chance? Things like this make me want to stop bothering. 1%... That's just plain mean.
Sorry it's a bit late, but welcome to the forum darkbridger. There's lots of useful info and friendly people here if you have any questions you'd like answering.

The problem with the island themes is that you don't get to see how the island looks with it until you bought it. I don't like them all. For example the fire theme is making it hard for me to see the dragons. And at first they all looked very overloaded to me. So I only bought some. On my second account I bought the bundle to play around with it. (It nearly cost all my gems there) . If I plan to buy a theme in my main account I can verify if the colors fit in the secondary account.
We could get awarded a dark theme and several spooky themes during the Halloween event and now several wonderland themes in the Christmas event.
I expect that we will have more island themes in the future, maybe for Valentine or Easter, and maybe there allso will be some themes for epic elements (celestial, rainbow, treasure...) So there will be more possibilities to cover a "naked" island. No need to buy the bundle.
The themes I like best are Earth, Air and Cold. Would be interesting to see what others think about it ( poll ?)

A much better deal for the one-of-each package was available when they first came out which is when I grabbed it. I also obtained the Spooky theme at Halloween and extras obtained with events. I liked when they first came out that someone described them as sweaters that you can take on and off. Example: I'll only bring out the Spooky theme and Halloween decorations during October.
Personally I really like them all and enjoy decorating around the theme. Some may question the surrounding of my volcano with fireworks but I think it works! Placing some light colored decorations strategically on the darker themes seems to help. I have seen friends islands that put the Cold habitat on the Fire themed island. FIRE and ICE, it's really stunning! (For anyone who wants to check out my themed islands, I use iOS GCID: !!vp!! )
You are right, Fletch, the deal they are offering now isn't so hot. I have also seen deals offering multiples of the same theme. Unless BFS is going to suddenly give us a dozen more islands, I wouldn't have need of those. I think when they reach some kind of saturation point where sale of the original themes drops off then they will offer a better deal for the lot.

They did a slight deal when they first came out, and I posted how they all looked on my dark apocalypse island. I liked having them all to play with, and I have the gems. They have repeated the deal once as well, I think. It's important to note (I don't know if you realised) that only spooky theme is limited, so there's no real rush.

Congratulations! I just got my grandson a second Ovalith! Still can't believe I bred 2 Ovalith Dragons. I really thought his dragonarium would never sparkle. Thank you BFS for the BEB. Koala to all!
After that first 20h timer (turned out to be a Snowflake nr. 3), I got another one, and Kite! Just on time! I heard that 1+1 should be generally better than 2+2, but I got both my 3's with 2+2 in the cave, when I had 1+1 running on the island, so I stuck with 2+2 in the cave and switched out my 1's on the island with 3's, and what do you know, 20h timers in both the cave and the island! So happy!

Is that based on something real? From what I understand the Snowflake element is the same element in all 4 snowflake dragons, so it seems to me that the odds of getting each one should be independent of its parents.

Good question. See how "willy-nilly" things get when you're not around! ;0) I basically stayed with 1-1 and 2-2 combos.

This information phrased differently was posted in the Season of Goodies thread during the event.
Each Snowflake Dragon has three primary elements which can result from breeding with it in addition to the snowflake element.
First Snowflake Dragon: Cold, Water, and Air. Second Snowflake Dragon: Cold, Water, and Lightning. Third Snowflake Dragon: Cold, Water, and Fire. Fourth Snowflake Dragon: Cold, Water, and Light.
