Time to pull this thread out of the library and share our good cheer for this year. I'll start by posting this year's tree.
Deb, I recognize that boat!
That tree is really beautiful!
Sorry I responded to all those old posts... I guess I hit first instead of new posts this morning. And I wasn't here last year to see this topic so I didn't realize it was old. But I had fun reading it from the beginning.
This is a fabulously gay thread! I too thought this was all this year, I was thinking how come I'd missed it all...
As I'm still working, the decs have not come out yet, but here's a photo from last year. I tend to keep the same glass decs, and add to them when necessary.

We have "roadside Christmas trees" in my city. The trees along one of the highways are decorated. I think random people just go out and put ornaments on them. It's really fun to drive down the highway and look at them. There are dozens! But I didn't want to pull over to the side too often... it's not the busiest of highways, but there are still a lot of cars.
That is so awesome that people do that. What a great community!
I'll have to go out driving on that highway to get some more roadside Christmas tree pictures to share! Last year I saw a family with little children decorating a roadside tree and it's just the cutest thing ever.

Our Christmas tree this year was decorated by 3 seven years old. You need to zoom close to see the ornaments. I did help by rearranging the ornaments when the kids hung them, they hung, the spacing was off. X-mas lights were off so the ornaments can be seen better. Did not get around to wrapping the presents but will do so this weekend.
That is Dali in the picture. She is a 9 years old female Shih Tzu. We babysat her the last Xmas and again this year while her family is vacationing in Sarasota, FL.
I would like to take this opportunity and add to Dragonmagic 's beautiful wishes is that...Wishing you all a Merry X-Mas and Happy New Year but most of all much much good health and happiness year thru.

Beautiful trees, and very touching baseball. Wish people around here did that. May start a tradition on our road next year, we have lots of small trees like that that would be fun to decorate.

Lemmy those are lovely trees. Do you ever get snow on them? Some people here in the UK have started doing tableaux with electric lit figures. One house around the corner used to have loads of dwarves and garden gnomes. They always lit up the house with lights and a soundscape of Xmas carols to raise money for charity.

Lemmyloop - How beautiful! I wish I had thought to do a public tree in memorial of my friend's 22 year old son that died just a few days before Christmas. Makes one really see the priorities in life.
ElectronX - Thank you and the very best of the season and new Year to you and yours! What a gorgeous artwork!

Sadly, these trees probably won't see snow. I live too far south in Texas to see much snow! We do get the occasional ice storm every few years...
Late, as usual. I just had to tell Elektronx those were fabulous greeting cards. And wish Cobus and everyone else who's lost somebody comfort and all my sympathy (curiously, the year of that message I also lost my mother-in-law and sister-in-law, both of whom I was pretty close to, especially my sis-in-law).
And in passing, to tell you I get the message "this forum has exceeded its attachment space limit". Does that mean, start another thread next year?

I'm afraid it's a forum wide storage problem...
People that want to post pictures are going to have to host them up externally and link to them using the IMG tags instead of adding them as attachments...
xmas cookies are a must in december (the Nanny loves it and so does my little Eddie) all these decorations make the cookies a bit difficult to eat with a risk to break a tooth in the pearls lol

Love this, thanks for sharing it! Both look so intense in their decorating. So much fun!
We are doing very little decorating this year as our house is for sale and it needs to stay uncluttered.
Was fun to see there is a group of people who live on our same peninsula who are talking about decorating trees along our main highway, reminded me of Lemmy right away. They are concerned that no one will remove the decs after the holidays, leading to more trash to pick up. Hope they don't let that stop them, could be lots of fun.
