Update on the store. New monthly Zodia dragons (tied to the zodiac) with a huge Zodia habitat complex looming above the Epic Breeding Island. The first Zodia is apparently not available yet, I suppose they will release it after the update has rolled out to enough players. Maybe with another event of some kind...
Other changes:
- The game is *annoyingly* zoomed in now. Blech. - Timers have disappeared until you zoom in even closer. - Graphical improvements with less pop-in behavior (partially due to the extreme zoom-in. Blech.) - New Market organization making things easier to find.

Hydrogen is a colorless, odorless gas, which if left alone in large enough quantities, for long enough, will begin to think about itself.
Well, the requirements for Lantern are: four elements, two of which must be fire and air. So to keep exactly four elements in the mix (to avoid as many of the long fails as possible) my main breeding pair is Enchanted Eve + Enchanted Rime (that avoids Kaiju and Plumed to name a couple long fails)
However, I still don't have a Gongji pedestal or Enchanted Gongji / Enchanted Gongji pedestal, so my alternate pair is Gongji + Enchanted Plumed. That gets me some five element fails (including Enchanted Plumed at 2d8h30m) but it really amps up the rarity factor. Hopefully that will help...

I hate Gardenia's giggle!!! I try to never complain about DV because I think they do a fantastic job at Backflip and it is impossible to keep everyone happy all the time. I know I will like most stuff and some stuff I will be "Meh!" about.
However I must say that I HATE Gardenia's giggle. I mean really! Who does that anymore. Once you've left puberty it's not even cute. Heck it's not cute in puberty. I hear that giggle and I have a physical reaction that just needs to SQUISH Gardenia!!!
There I've had my complaint, hopefully I can go on to ignore that obnoxious sound bite.
Happy rose gathering all!!!
I play with my sound turned off, but I still like to squish Gardenia. Apparently mugging her is the only way to get her to give up her roses.

I gambled 150 gems on the flower + event dragons in coop and I came up empty. Skitch - where did you get the koala and where do you have him stashed in your park?!?!
Are you getting the weird Retry error where your friend's dragon is reported as being the same as yours (but with the correct picture)? In other words, if you try to breed a Flower dragon against a Cuddlewing and then hit Retry, does the window show your Flower with your Friend's Cuddlewing but the Cuddlewing is mis-labelled as a Flower? Some folks have been reporting this for a few days while some have not been seeing it. I'm seeing this error and I'm wondering whether it's related to "glitch cloning". If you're NOT seeing the error that would be interesting...

Well, that was different. Intrigued by the weird results of co-op breeding we've been seeing lately, I embarked on a little breeding program using a simple Flower dragon against various friends' event dragons. 250 gems later, here's what my Nursery looks like:
So that's all the event dragons without spending roses (plus a random Electrum)...
Also, you can see that my attempt at the extended doubles trick resulted in 1450, even though I thought I had reached the full 2000. When I banked my Rose Ring winnings, it actually banked 550, the difference from 2000 (but minus the actual arena winnings!).
IT'S CHAOS, MY FRIENDS!
Edit: the weird results make me wonder whether this new kind of cloning works with non-event dragons. If anybody would like me to put up a dragon they don't have to try to "glitch clone" it, please let me know.
I didn't see this mentioned, so I'll put it here now:
PSA For all of you max bankers out there, I suggest upgrading the Aura habitats during doubles weekend. Do one at the end of the run today (so get to 1996 roses and then upgrade). That will bank a nice 296 roses for the gems spent just on the first upgrade (150 gems during doubles = 300 roses for the upgraded habitat). Then do the second one tomorrow for the same 296 banked roses. (And of course, after topping out you should finish your dragon pair thingie as well for another 200 roses).
Hmm, I'm not sure gem expenditure roses get banked. I vaguely remember trying this in an event a couple years ago and only getting currency up to the max (like when you hatch a dragon near max you only get partial credit).
Has this changed or am I misremembering?

I thought that once you maxed out it wouldn't let you play anymore. How do you save a 'ticket' for banking?
If you collect event currency right up to the max without actually reaching it (i.e 1 below max) then any currency you earn in the next game will be banked in your social menu for collection later, so the trick is to keep one game ticket to play to put you over the top once you're close to max.
Ps. Mine doesn't drop dragons. I'm jealous mine just drops a ball!?!
lol, that's what happens when my brain gets too far ahead of my fingers!

Arrrgghhh! I just committed a totally n00b error and blasted through all my Gamery tickets without reserving one for banking. It's almost like I haven't been playing this silly game for the last 25 years (has it really been that long? it hardly feels like it...)!
Newbie question:
What are Gamery tickets??
The event islands always have a section with minigames for collecting event currency. This time it's called Gardenia's Gamery. BFS limits minigame plays to 10 and usually represents this as tickets remaining, so to drop a dragon (or spin a wheel, or whatever the game type is) you have to use one of your 10 tickets (attempts). Truth to tell, though, I didn't notice if they're using the ticket metaphor this year or not, I just burned through all 10 attempts like it was my first rodeo!

Do you use both breeding sites, or just one? I've only been using one and leaving the island dedicated to something I'm trying for to take advantage of the half breeding times.
Since the breed time is effectively zero you can immediately fill up all your available hatchery slots as quickly as you can hit the Speed Up and Retry buttons, so there's no advantage to using both breeding sites! I use the Island to work on my goals while using the cave to complete the breeding event (this is based on the assumption -- which I have not seen verified yet -- that the Island offers better breeding odds in DVW as it does in DV).

So how do you complete the breeding weekend event? I think I know how to do the others(actually completed my first one a week ago - the airship)save lots of food for the feeding one, don't clear your habitats for days before the dragoncash one, have lots of stuff in your warehouse and speed with gems for the airship, but how do you do the breeding one? I was using two fire dragons, and the prize egg was an enchanted totem, which I really wanted... but after speed breeding 10 or so eggs, I realized I couldn't sit there and do that for another 100(I'm not sure I had enough gems to speed both the breeding and the eggs anyway)... So is it literally patience and repetitive speed breeding? Or is there some kind of trick/strategy I don't know about?
Earth dragon is a 10 minute breed with the last 5 minutes free (though you have to stay on top of it). I usually complete my breeding weekend watching TV on Friday and Saturday evening.
ETA: Oh, I should also point out that breed time is halved so it's instantly free to move them to the hatchery where they can be hatched for free after 5 minutes. If you have a few slots empty you can move them through pretty quickly.
Just realized that thru the Frostival, with 500 or so visitors in my park, the only females were Yumi and some Banner Bearing Visitors! How 'bout some more Winter-Theme Girls next year, Backflip? A Snowwoman, at least!
How do you know the penguins aren't female? For that matter, surely some of the abominable snowmen are actually adorable snowwomen (I don't actually know how one determines the gender of a yeti...)!

A funny thing with my Ornamental habitats - one of my 3 habitats makes a tinkly chiming 🎊🎊sound when it's selected. I thought it might be the SFX of one of the new dragons, but the same combo of dragons in a non-chiming habitat did not chime. My granddaughter has 2 of 3 that chime! Can't figure out if the tinkling one was a gift habitat or purchased, they're indistinguishable. Dragon Mystery!
NONE of mine chime
Hey, I think your granddaughter may have gotten my chiming habitat!

Would any one of my friends be so kind as to blue heart a Panlong for me please? I'd like to try for my first Thank you
One Panlong blue-hearted per request!
ETA: Although, now that I think about it, since they're not epic and you don't already have one, there should be lots of potential breeding pairs that give you an equivalent probability...
