I have only been on this board for a week, but I have seen lots of posts about whining. So this is my whine, a little different from the others I have seen. My grandsons visit every Friday after school. Last week I found the 8 year old collecting the Dragon cash. Ok I let it go. He does have games just for him on my kindle. Today after they have left, I check in on my dragons, and he has upgraded all the habitats at 25 gems each! I was SO CLOSE to upgrading the breeding island! OK, I only had 160 gems, but I was saving them! I think it's a good think I didn't have more dragon cash or that might be gone too. I think I will need to start a local park just for him.

If you look back through older posts you will find this has happened to many players. We have also had players who have finally bred the one coveted, super elusive dragon they had been trying for forever only to have the youngster sell it off. The young ones seem to get drunk on power whilst playing DV! Local park is good, just make sure you are signed into the local park when they visit.
I'm back to announce that now that KYDOLIND has won the honor of "last man standing" for playing DV longer than the other family members, he has decided to join the rest of the family and leave the game. Because he spends his summers at a camp without electrones, he was going to have to quit before then, and decided he wanted to leave before another event. The Lind family wishes you all a fond farewell. We enjoyed playing DV, and we especially enjoyed getting to know you all. We have all enjoyed our non-DV life. My frustration level has gone down as I've had more time to accomplish things I wanted to get done. Best wishes to all in DV and beyond.

Sorry this was the outcome after your time off, but am very happy to hear you are enjoying life. Thanks for all you and your family have contributed to make this a great community!
I suppose I'm not going to be the first, but I too am going to leave the game. In fairness, I haven't entered my park for four weeks or so, therefore I guess I have already stopped playing, but now I'm telling you guys. I've been playing on and off (mostly off) since the beginning of the year, but I no longer enjoy the game. Without stumbling across this forum (Early March 2014), I would never still be playing to this day. And so its with a sad wave farewell that I announce my departure from dragonvale. It's been a long ride and I've enjoyed it, but all good things must come to an end I suppose. I'm very sad to see crumble and Buffy go before me, they were some of my close friends on this forum and they have always been a laugh on the forum. Their presence makes this place seem like home, and it will seem that much emptier without them. I'll miss you guys *tear* ! You two took me under your wings when I joined and have helped me through my days here, and always served as friendly conversation. Whenever I had had a bad day, you were sure to make me smile. You are both some of the friendliest people I know, and have truly proven to me that Internet friendships can occur. I don't know how I will cope without that baby lotus around, nor without crumble's seasonal dragon. Stay safe, both of you, and please do check in here every so often - we will all miss you! I will probably still browse and moderate the forum for months to come, and I'm still working on a few projects, so I will still see you all around. jv

jamesvaler, I will miss your insight and perspectives as your presence fades. Selfishly, I hope it fades slowly so I can enjoy your posts for a while yet. But realistically, you should (and it appears will) do what feels right for you. *bow*

Awwwww, jamesvaler! Yours was such a cheerful, unflagging spirit when you began! So sorry you've felt driven by the game lately. Your active championing of cooperation, rather than competition, helped me to keep my good humor, and probably many others too!

The fact that we were made mods at the same time means I will miss you even more.
I have been impressed by your spirit and gumption for being such a young sprout!
I am not too upset as I know even if you leave the game, you will never completely abandon the board. Though we may not be hearing from you as often I know that when you do pop in it will have been worth the wait.
Always remember, YOU ARE LOVED! hugs with a squeeze... {{{ jamesvaler }}}

Thanks everyone for the kind words, Didn't expect that! You guys made my day! Just wanted to say that I'm not leaving the forum - I will definitely be around, although as my tests come up (cyn, sadly it still have them all to go, so I can't have aced them yet ) I may become less active. Maybe one day I will be enthusiastic enough to open the app again, but for now it's my time.

I'm catching up after a busy few weeks (first the cataract surgery, then one daughter sick, then other kids & I got it...) and find that crumble608, Buffy, and jamesvaler are departing. *Sniff* I totally understand, though; I've quit games that became chores myself. Don't feel like you have to quit here, though. I have to echo those who have said they will miss each of you!!!
In other news, my recovery from cataract surgery went well and I'm really happy with my choice to correct for reading and wear distance glasses. A couple of days ago I got my new prescription so now I can get progressive glasses that will basically be clear glass at the base and corrective above, so I don't have to keep taking off the distance glasses when I want to see close to me.

Michelle, I still have the surgery in front of me, visit to doctor for check up next week and then fixing a date for the surgery, I also have made the choice for reading and glasses for distance. Actually, i currently need no glasses for reading. I just need them for tv watching and of course driving. I will also need new glasses but I will go differently this time, I have had progressive glasses since about 20 years and found out I never use them for that purpose. In fact, most of the time I take my glasses off when at home. T is quite funny when with my sister and she grabs her glasses to read small prints and take mine off to read the same lol. So i ill take just normal glasses for distance seeing. I ll keep you posted on the next steps. Still totally anxious about the surgery, i think they will need to pump me with tranquilizers !

Michele, congratulations on your surgeries. I'm so glad that all went well and that you're happy with the results.
Viviane, hang in there. Cataract surgery was my first operation ever and I had quite a case of nerves too. It all went much easier than I had imagined it would. I hope you have the same success and happy results.
I opted for the multi-focal lenses. I was near-sighted and had worn contact lenses all my life because I just couldn't adjust to glasses... they gave me motion sickness. Now I don't need glasses at all, it's wonderful. The multi-focus aren't like how they are in glasses. It's sort of like magic... the eye just sort of knows which focus to use all on it's own.

I know, it's sad =/ I live in the Minneapolis area (where Prince is from) and the entire community is having one long party weekend. Downtown at 1st Avenue (where he played a lot early on, and still these days, and the movie Purple Rain was filmed), out a Paisley Park, and all over the metro area. It's just... weird. A mix of joy and fond memories of growing up, and sorrow.
