Son-in-Law was a rookie cop in NJ 17 yrs ago. The next day, 9/12, he and other first responders from the NY metro area and all over the country were digging through the rubble. He still has respiratory problems... God Bless the victims and God Bless him and all the other first responders.

In addition to the horrendous tragedy of 9-11, there have been and are so many survivors, first responders, cleanup workers, etc who have suffered health consequences from all the chemical toxins they were exposed to. The effects of that day just go on.

Edited to add: My family is praying for all of you facing Florence.

Thank you Kiwichris. I am in a hotel room with my family, very grateful to be here. All the hotels over a large area of Northern California are full of fire evacuees. Some of the stories I've heard from survivors are horrifying, inspiring, amazing. My daughter's best friend had to abandon her car & literally run for her life. She wasn't able to locate the rest of her family for 2 harrowing days. I am so thankful to have Internet, so I can play a dragon game & worry about gathering spice , evolving dragons, read about other's breeding successes & frustrations & not have to think for a few minutes about the real world & what my friends & neighbors are going through, what we've all lost. The news media keeps mentioning Paradise, not understanding that there are smaller communities which are devastated also. And there are so many people who had little to nothing before & have even less now. If you pray, please pray for California.

Wow, interesting scary news about Fortnite; I came so very close to opting in to that game, so very glad I didn’t.
Add the huawai scare to that... tech’s Pandora’s box is well open now
funny how humans always spoil the positive potential of new developments, I remember imagining how useful tv was going to be, when it first came out (showing my age!) for teaching and learning.... now it’s predominantly repeated fake reality pap
Same with the web, texts and I guess twitterverse...
maybe we’ll mature through all this? Ah Pollyanna back again 😂

So poor Christchurch has been hit again; New Zealand now has experienced our own right wing extremist mass hate crimes; many people shot, with many fatalities, while at prayer in two mosques in Christchurch this afternoon. My prayers and thoughts with all affected throughout NZ.

Additionally Police report multiple cars stopped with explosive devices (IED’s) attached to them, since made safe. 
Also told us not to presume Christchurch is the only city in NZ which could be a target... 

more than 40 people killed, more deaths from wounds possible.
