I'm pretty sure "twinness" is assigned at breeding, so it will still be a twin

Actually, not quite.

If you don't get a twin then twin-ness is assigned when you put something into the nursery.

If you do get a twin, the jury is still out.

Absolutely anything is possible. But this is what we know:

When you enter the Colosseum, your prize is assigned when you start, and you have to wait 24 hours to collect it.
When you run a Quest, your prize is assigned when you start, and you have to wait ?? hours to collect it.
When you breed 2 dragons, the result is assigned when you start, and you have to wait ?? hours to collect it.

It seems unlikely that they would change the modus operandi for one part of the breeding process. That would mean, doing a bunch of calculations when you hit the Breed button, and then doing some more calculations when you hit the Heart button/spent gems to speed up the breed.

Aarrgghh I'm such a klutz! Put Faire up for a nontwopal friend; forgot it would replace mud for others than who I bred directly with... Ok NOW I've learned that :/

If you know when your friend will start breeding you can heart the Faire, visit a park, then heart the Twopal dragon right after

I don't think you can access a dragon in a breeding cave to blue heart it ...

Yeah, had two crystals, a couple of trees and some other gem wasters, will have another gem smashing session in not too long

I figured I'd wait with those (and dragons like thorn), because I can get them 100% and then getting a twin later on will still be very easy
