Greg, figure no 8 is followed by figure no 1. Which, in fact, was the moon we had until yesterday. This would mean, DV s moon is going backwards, which, in my solar system, is not correct. Where do you live ?
Moon got into the Fountain of Youth?
Does the DV Moon look correct to GregDarcy and Fletch_smf, then, in their Southern Hemisphere habitats? (Except for the tilt?)

Once you leave the game, does it correct your total afterwards? Say you leave the game with 9150 candies and when you open the total will fall back to 8150? That's happened to me when I've gone over the max due to lag.
Nope, it sticks. I rebooted my tablet to make sure, and I'm still at 9150.
Can't tag you properly, Mr. Bones, so asking again - were those candies collected Over your daily Max?

Personally, I never care about having a dragon with both elements in the competition ring. Always choose a Level 20 dragon with only one of the required elements and get 100 candies (200 at Double) almost every time, maybe 14 out 15 tries.
Another thing which worked out good for me: I'm trying for the Sanguinite in the normal breeding cave, not on the island. Had less long, epic fails though, but also got my first Sanguinite, which is on the nest now. On EBI, I was trying for Opal pedestal, what actually took longer to achieve than Sanguinite.
Not necessarily. I depends on where the sun is. All it means is that the sun is off to the left of the moon. Actually, if you look at the moon in its crescent phase regardless of whether it is waxing or waning, it is most often pointing downwards not left or right as the sun is usually below the horizon when you can see the crescent moon. What changes is when you can see the moon. Evening for waxing crescent. Early morning for waning moon (predawn). So that diagram is just as "wrong" as the DV depiction.

I live in the South. But that is beside the point. With your drawing you can just turn it upside down. You cannot do that with the real moon. Either ours or DV's. Relative to the dragons anyway.
The reality is that the horns ALWAYS point away from the sun. Draw a line between the tips of the horns. Draw a line perpendicular to it. Follow that line in the direction of the bright part. You will always come to the sun. Though the horizon will usually get in the way. Because the sun is pretty much always below the horizon when you can see the moon - the Sun's brightness swamps the relatively dim moon when the sun is above the horizon - the exception is when the moon is nearly full as there is a greater angular separation between the two so the glare from the sun is not so apparent. So that drawing is wrong. There will always be some tilt
Go outside tonight about 19:30.and have a look. The moon will be almost due South about 27° above the horizon (assuming Geneva). Though it will be very nearly first quarter rather than an obvious crescent. Also as the line you need to draw will be half way across the sky, it will appear nearly horizontal. But it WILL TILT DOWN.

When I look north towards the waxing crescent moon, the sun has just set to the west. Which will be on my left, so the lit part of the moon will be on the left. So yes. The DV moon is a Southern Hemisphere moon. Though as explained above it should be tilted down. Not horizontal.

Observers in the southern hemisphere perceive the moon to be illuminated on the opposite side than observers in the northern hemisphere (but the moon is either waxing or waning for all earthly observers at the same time). You might be able to visualize this more readily with a little thought experiment: imagine the earth has no axial tilt and you are standing on the North Pole; now imagine walking around the globe to the South Pole. The horns of the moon will rotate as you travel until they point in the opposite direction. As GregDarcy has noted, we rarely perceive the horns to be pointing directly left or right as shown in that diagram in any case; this is because the earth does have an axial tilt and because we typically observe the moon from non-polar vantage points, so the horns will appear to be rotated according to how perpendicular you are with respect to the plane of the ecliptic.
So no rotation change necessary, only have to switch to southern hemisphere. Thank you !
YAAAY! So BF is acknowledging us 'down unders' with the moon phases, which makes up for the Autumnal stuff while we are surrounded by beauteous spring flowers
and OMG Professor Darcy! With such erudite folk in our lists, no wonder DV is overflowing with wit ! Love it

The longest I've kept my park open for doubles is 28 hours, so you can probably do this forever. Of course, you can't really use your device while you're doing this because you risk the app unloading in the background.
And the candy limit also remains doubled while you're doing this, so I'm 1000 ahead of what should be possible right now.
I didn't try it this time for a couple reasons:
1) When I did it during the Faire event "a spell went wonky in my park" and I lost all the tickets for that day and could only get some of them back (through non-diminishing methods and it was late in the day).
2) I use my iPad for other things and can only spare a couple hours for this at most and it's reeeeeally difficult to max out candies this time without visiting friends (which resets your park) or spending gems (which are severely depleted for me since my Omenous adventure).

I wonder if it is an android loophole.
It didn't work too well for me either during the Faire. Got kicked out with the same error message, and they would force-reload your park when they added new prizes.
That was an interesting discussion about the moon phases and how they can be viewed by people from different points in the earth. Went looking around on the net for infos. In geneva we are " quite" north so the moon crescent is much more vertical than what you see in NZ or OZ. In any case, what we know now is that although BFS is in Boulder Colorado, Dragon Vale is somewhere in the southern hemisphere ! Hold on, DV has snow in the winter, white Xmas, which is typically a northern hemisphere thing. And the seasons are also matching the northern hemisphere! What does it all say Is DV in another upside down solar system ? Will we ever solve that mystery
ok where do you find these "pumpkins"... I have searched but can't find them...
Wow, how nice to see you again! Welcome back! Have found all of those darned pumpkins exactly once, they are really good hiders. Have a few pages to catch up on, but am sure someone has suggested putting your park into "path" mode so you can see behind stuff on your islands. Even with that tip they are still hard to find.

OR, the Wizards in Colorado just never took my earth science course or they would have made the waxing crescent on the right as it is in Boulder .... Here's another fun fact about the moon; in most non-scientific references of the moon, it is shown upside down and backwards; even in our textbook. The Ocean of Storms, which is the large dark lava flows on the left side is found many times on the right in photos.

A few pages you are funny. But yes and I found a few. Not sure how many there are. But doing some redecorating.. Lol

Lost a lot of my old friends when BFS transferred my park because of an email problem, will have to send a new FR to you. Love the new GCID. Great to see how many "old" faces have been popping back up. Can we convince Shelley to stop by? Does she still play? (Lost her, too)

I think I still have her number I can see... It is nice to be back..
I gotta say, the event threads are one of my favorite things about the events. All the excitement in the beginning followed by frustration a few days later. I love reading everyone's posts. I love everyone's humor. For me, reading the community posts is one of the best parts of my day.
Actually... If our parks are made up of floating islands, why is the shadow cast on the moon round?
It's not that there is a shadow cast on the moon. That is an eclipse. It's just that we're seeing the dark side of the moon. The side that is not illuminated by the sun's light. It is partially illuminated by the light reflected from the earth so that we can make out some of the details there.

There's no dark side of the moon... It's all dark! I have it on good authority.

Wow. We sure did get spoiled during the Faire event.
I hate this event. I've pretty much decided that maxing out and banking is impossible, so I'll get what I get and that will be that.
