Ahhhh, but the nursery is jammed with long fails and gems must be spent on speeding to try for more breeding... what to do, what to do?

I think I'll probably be able to incubate it at some point in July, if I can fit it in

I assume the event will end at the "usual" reset time and thus there will be no more collection of berries after that. THUS send your gems BEFORE that reset time so that your friends get a last round of berries.
I hope somebody can clarify something I've just realized. This is my second event where I've been sending and receiving gems/treats. I have lots of berries in my social/gifts menu. I have about 2,000 from my Arctic Arena, and in past events they would get added to my total at the end of collecting and i had another week to spend them. This time since ive started exchanging with friends, I also have another 2,000 from generous friends that are listed with their name in my gifts menu. When the event ends will all the ice berries from my friends automatically convert from my gifts menu to a total for me to spend? So, I end up with 4,000 more than my current total? I didn't pay attention to how it worked in the last event. I didn't remember specifically collecting them, and if I did is there a daily limit? Thanks!
Let me share my tale of frustration and triumph...
I'm on holiday. Four nights at a motel with free wifi and today, starting a seven day cruise, no internet. I was all set to set my parks up for an extended time away (long breed and long incubations in the nursery) when the wifi stopped. Poof. I couldn't get in to anything and worse, I would not be able to log in to get the dazzling today. Both parks would miss out, I don't mind the lost iceberry collection, but a whole dragon?
Anyway, there's no wifi at the cruise terminal, but in my slightly insane dedication, I left the screening area, walked back towards the cafés on the shore, and came across about eight people all on their phones. Behold! The last free wifi for a week. So here I am, about to board the ship, dazzlings safely incubating and gifts all sent.

My son is new to Dragonvale this year, and he missed one day of the festival. Am I going to need to get enough gems (61 I believe) to get that last dragon, or will I still be able to get it tomorrow afternoon without having to shell out the gems?

Hey Jack, I'm not too sure about this, but try waiting till tomorrow to see if you can get the Dazzling. If you were able to continue collecting gifts from the giftery after missing that one day, I believe you should still be able to get the dragon.

In past events, ALL banked tickets, regardless their source, were transferred to your wallet (thanks JV!) at the end of the collection event. We can only hope the same happens again.

I wonder if Backflip will ever fix the bug that locks you out of your park if you stockpile too many gifts. It's happening to me again.
They basically expect you to bank iceberries if you want to buy everything, and then it breaks your game.
