BEB ends in a couple of days, and I'll start chasing a Twin Garnet in earnest. Who's with me?
It will work in the following way:
1. Those keen to use their CBC exclusively to try for a Garnetwin post in this thread with their GCID and/or a link to their Facebook. 2. Because we'll be about half way through the month we'll just be going with The Long Haul entries till the end of January or Success!. 3. Any pledge of gems can be made when registering. 4. This is open to players on all platforms, so an indication of whether Facebook friends are welcome is also necessary. Posts should like this

5. I will then randomly sort the names into two lists, one for SMOKE one for OBSIDIAN. 6. Everyone in the SMOKE list breeds a Smoke with the top person in the OBSIDIAN list. Everyone in the OBSIDIAN list breeds with the top name in the SMOKE list. 7. The list order will be rotated during January to give everyone multiple shots at the top spot of their list. 8. When someone breeds a Garnetwin with the first person on the list, the person who is second moves up to the top and everyone breeds with them. 9. People who have bred/received a Garnetwin are under no obligation to help the others, but obviously all help is appreciated. 10. Rinse and repeat until midnight January the 31st. 11. Anyone can join to help after the event has started, but they are added to the bottom of one of the lists.
Any and all questions and comments are welcome. If there is anyone without one of those dragons, please make a note of it in your Pledge post.

Well my twovalith hunt was unsuccessful. I lost my stomach for spending gems for it towards the end, espeically when my nursery had four 24h+ timers running and I got a 48h timer in the CBC. 72 gems for another attempt? Nope.
I saw one Ovalith I did get a lot of other interesting twins out of the breeding Bloom/Panlong together for so long. Thanks for everyone who kept their Panlongs up for so long (Lakes, NinjaKiwi, Hyder & more!).

BFS said they'd do another twin event like they did that one weekend (they'd be bad entrepreneurs if they didn't) and in 2013 or 14 there was a gemstone BEB event where all gemstones were available for a limited time. I don't see why the two can't be at the same time.....it would be really great for us, but maybe my level of optimism is far too high. I'm at least looking forward to the next twin event. The 100% success rate will be great for rare epics and limiteds.
I forgot about the twin event, and remembered yesterday while thinking about what I was missing. I'll definitely be saving gems for that one.
Hunting for twinstones is definitely taking a while. I haven't even started on the seasonal twinstones, and then there are the twin crystalline dragons. At this rate I'll definitely have enough food to level 3 of everything to 20 before I get all the twin dragons.
I second guess my decision to get all the gemstone/crystalline twins before making an effort on twins of the regular limiteds all the time.
Edit: I looked through my log, the twin even was the weekend around the 12th of October last year. According to the wiki the gemstone BEB was in May 2014 only.

Sorry for the delay folks. Got back from settling my daughter into her new home in Mackay last night. I thought BEB was going until the 21st or the 22nd or something. Will be sorting things out now.

We have a weekend of breeding nothing but twins, so we should get these Garnets sorted. This post is a reminder that you can only receive one grin at a time, so post here when you get the magic number so the recipient can log on and clear any other twins s/he has in the queue before you speed it up. Timing is going to be important.
Wow, it looks like the number of twins you can receive from the same person has increased. Instead of only one and losing out on the twins after that, I just got about 8 twins from the same person...including another Garnet twin. Thank you, KBailey9!
