I was happy to read that the clans work together on quests and goals.... It makes me think of the Twinners; our clan of twin gemstone seekers working together for the good of all. Sounds like a whole lot of fun!
Ughhhh I was getting so excited but I'm pretty sure my ipad is only on iOS 7 because it's getting old and I don't want it to lag...
My wife's phone is the only device in house that will play it. She's getting annoyed by my taking it all the time for this new game. Going to have to look at upgrading something here.
Christmas might come early in the fletch household .... If you pester your wife enough using her phone, she just might get you one at the nice holiday price!

I wish we knew if this was coming to android. I have a Galaxy S6, but my iPad is an iPad 3 on iOS7, and I'd really rather not invest in another Apple product with their blatant planned obsolescence. Every other game on the face of the planet seems to have the dual systems down...wonder what Backflip's issue is here.
I wonder if there is a potential connect thru cooperative breeding island. Or a completely separate platform. I have an iPad 4 with Retina display with ios8 I wonder if it will work. If I would have waited a month it would have been air.

Don't know about planned obsolescence, but my iPad is either first or second gen (weighs a ton) and is happily on the iOS 8 point something...and works well w DV Ah, but I don't think you have that option any more? Has to be ios9 series now? Which last I looked ( a while ago, fer sure) had some bugs for games; the apple community was suggesting waiting til 9.2 was out... aaahhhhh which might be your point about planned obs...that they cease supporting the older grades after a while....slow brain today

There's actually more to it than that.
1. Yes, they stop support (can no longer download and install) iOS versions that make certain devices preform better. They purposefully want your older device to frustrate you and run poorly. These devices are expensive and powerful - that they are purposefully made obsolete in this way is maddening to me.
2. Magically, every time a new version is released, older versions start running worse (even if you don't upgrade). There is evidence that searches for say 'slow iPad' peak when a new version is announced. This does not happen with Android.
It's so blatant and so intentional that I really do not want to give that company my money any longer. So I'm crossing all my fingers that they a) release this new game for Android and b) figure out cross platform syncing (so our friends list isn't determined by who has what device)

I have heard that iOS 9 works just a well, if not better, than iOS 8, but once I make that step I can't go back and my ipad is my primary computing device and I would hate for it to be bricked

I've been trying out the game as well. Based on my experience, DragonVale World seems to be quite a different game from DragonVale, aside from the fact that they're both games where you breed dragons. My guess is that DV won't be left behind for now, since DV World has been in the works all this time while DV has been going at full force. The difference in graphics (DV is 2D, DV World is 3D) probably also means that each game has a separate team of artists. So unless BFS suffers a major drop in interest in DV, I'd say that we don't have to worry about it for the time being.
When GD mentioned that DV World has been released in Singapore...I thought of you! Got to be that Light Rift dragon

Not genuine three dimensions. Just rendered as solid forms. Which means they turn rather than flip as DV dragons do. I think you can also turn the buildings when placing them. But I could be wrong. I am not one of the testers. My iPad is too old according to the specs. Needs iPad Air mini or later.

I looked in the AppStore to get an idea of 3D and watched the trailer for a dragon game by dream works called return of Berk or something like that.... It's really cool to see the lava and dragons as solid figures..

That sounds like a "How to Train a Dragon" game (DreamWorks movie -loosely- based on the books. ISland of Berk is where they live). Will have to check it out!
