I have managed to get Calaca last night & Zoncos this morning by breeding only in one spot & no speed-ups. Once Zoncos has finished breeding & hatched I have the '4'. No purchases made to achieve this only used gems to extend drop game to get 1 or 2 crystals when tickets reset.
Next to try for their Ench version, going to be a lot tougher as they require both crystals. But I don't feel I 'must' have them, so slow & steady 😊

What do these new dragons have, like a 0.00001% chance of being bred?
Just about.
Sigh. I'm so weak. The thought of not completing something sent me into a tizzy soooooo 2000 gems later I have the set. Still need the enchanted but people are saying it's much easier with the potions. Like 2-3 breeds easy.
Things that worked for me
1. Practicing the stupid games over and over 2. Airships give 4 tickets so have a 60% explorer potion going. I sped some skips and I also paid the 8 to get all the shards. 3 ships is an enchanted crystal. 3. Don't buy the crystal packs. Learned this one too late. Spent the 5 gems when you get a bucket. One gem is normally 125 so if you can get the bucket for under 25 tries your ahead. 4. At the end of the ticket thing you have the option to play again for gems. It's got no limit so I just cranked till I had 30 crystals. 5. I used enchanted dragons and oddly out of the defined order worked for me. So cinder x venom. Might be a fluke but.... 6. I sped bred. 7. I did this after I bought another 1000 gems. I hate to believe that had anything to do with it but you never know. We know there was a tier system at the beginning. It might (probably) still exist. The way data mining is going nowadays anything is possible.
I feel so dirty but LOOK at my pretty dragons.
It doesn't matter if I get a golden bucket or not. The ball isn't going in there. Do y'all have some tricks or tips for this game?
I have had no problems earning the makings and creating the Crystals. Where the problem arises is every breed I do ends up with a goose egg instead of a desired dragon.
Well I FINALLY got the breeding time for a Calaca this morning. That’s my first rare one. I have all the common ones (and their pedestals). I’ve lost track of how many goose eggs I’ve sold off. I’m now trying for number two.
I can’t give any advice on the dragon-drop game. I suck at it. I scour my park for the little painted skulls and keep sending off ships. I only win a pittance at a time on dragon drop. I have used gems to extend play and have gotten a couple of crystals that way. But it kills me to burn through my gems like that just to breed another loser.
Edit: Yep, I’m back to breeding the minions.

The DragonVale Community Whine™ works again. Finally bred my first of the new dragons: Calavera. Watch as you level her up to 20, what a poseur! Talk about flamboyant! Let’s see if I can get the others.
I have my first Ench 'special' breeding - Ench Calavera - I have the Epic Rarity Remedy for Calavera active and it was my 5th attempt.
I have a nice stock of Spirit Crystals but I'm having to exchange all misbreeds for shards to get Enchanted Crystals and waiting until I have enough before trying each time. At this rate I don't think I'll manage to get all the Ench specials in 14 days!

With all the “wash, rinse, repeat” I’ve been doing trying to get the spirit dragons....on a breed attempt for the Scorpia dragon, when it asked if I wanted to add a crystal, I dutifully added an enchanted crystal...got an enchanted Kaiju. I don’t have one so that’s a nice surprise, but it’s also a 42-hr miss I could have done without while I’m trying to get Scorpia...hehehe.
Now I know better than to try to breed dragons before I’ve had my morning coffee.
Well, I keep getting duplicates using the crystals. Bah. 😂 I also do not see any option to use rarity potions for any of the new dragons, but, I am admittedly not that knowlegeable about them as they were stupidly expensive when they were first introduced. Inhave enough stuff to make one, but the choices of dragons to use them on are dragons I already have 🤷♀️

My understanding is that the rarety potions only work for getting enchanted dragons anyway. To get an enchanted spirit dragon requires both a spirit crystal AND an enchanted crystal. At that point, it makes more sense to put out the runes to get the potion I guess.

You have to have bred one to be able to brew the rarity potion. I haven't played around much because my device isn't updated, but I played around on another family members device that has been updated. I brew a Rainbow rarity potion and then added a crystal to the next breeding and actually got them an enchanted Green Rainbow on that first try. They also ended up with a couple extra rainbows before the potion ran out. I'm not sure if it works that quickly in most cases, but I do think it helps the outcome. It doesn't help if you haven't bred the first one to begin with though. 😒
While my Enchanted Zancos was breeding I got the Epic Rare Breeding Remedy ready and activated for Enchanted Marigold - when my Zancos had finished breeding I moved it over to incubate - didn't have enough shards for an Enchanted Crystal so pressed rebreed (still with the Zancos combination because I forgot to change it) and got another 'regular' Zancos first try. I have both Zancos & Marigold Remedies active.
I hatched one of the misbreeds from the Zodiac dragon to give me enough shards, sped up the Zancos mistake - changed the breeding pair to underbrush & magma added both Crystals and first try was Enchanted Marigold!
Only Enchanted Calaca to go now 😊
I highly recommend using the remedies - of course you need to unlock them first, but keep plugging away - it can be done!

I finally got all the spirit dragons...just hatched the last one. I’m still hesitant to blow my runes on the rarety potion for the enchanteds. I’ll try it on one to see how well it works....don’t want all the repeated fails. Then again, I really don’t care whether collect the enchanteds at this point. I’m sort of toying with the idea of just blowing off the enchanteds and using the breeding space to double-breed for the Scorpia dragon.
Edit: Ok, I’ve got the rarety potion for Calaca. So far I’ve gotten two EnMagma Spirits.
Edit 2: I tried the rarety potion and got the EnCalaca on the third attempt. That’s a vast improvement over the number of tries it took to breed the regular Spriit Calaca. So I guess I have three more rarety potions to go.

If you don't have marigold yet, though, you can't brew the marigold potion.
The chance for a golden bucket with a whole crystal go up when you play beyond 3 tickets and reset to 10% if you stop after 3
I think I might have gotten this wrong. It looks like the chance of a golden bucket appearing goes up only when you're paying gems to play after your tickets are gone. I still save up tickets and play in a long string since I feel like I get better at the game when I'm practicing back to back.
I saw someone was frustrated that they paid gems for a 100% chance of a golden bucket and their ball didn't go in it. That 100% is only that the bucket will appear, not that your ball will go into it. Nothing to do about that but practice and hope (or pony up the gems to try and retry).
I'm personally frustrated that the drop game is the primary way to earn spirit shards; it's truly no fun and it's not rewarding enough. The twice weekly events are nice and of course I look for the skulls but the shards and crystals from those are a drop in the bucket of how many you need. I deeply loathe the dragon drop game used this way.
Both this and original dragonvale crash so much they're virtually unplayable.
Have you updated your device to iOS 11? I have updated my iPhone 7+ but not my iPhone 6+ (I use it like a mini iPad on Wifi only) DV & DVW crashes regularly on my non-updated device especially in my main Park where I'm connected to FB & GC. But no issues on my updated iPhone 7+.
I'm not planning to update my iPhone 6+ because I haven't managed to work out how to log into different GC accounts in iOS 11 yet!

My Enchanted Calaca was hatched this morning- I now have the full Day of the Dragons collection. All Enchanted specials were bred with the help of the relevant epic rare remedy.
I'm not bothering trying for the eggs, I can't collect enough shards to make it happen!
