I've only just earnt enough for a chrysalis dragon and habitat and since I didn't have any of the prizes to start have to unlock 5 more prizes to get to the next tier. This event just seems ridiculous to collect enough for the very expensive dragons or items. Attempted breeding ovalith etc but getting no where with that and given these events seem to get more ridiculous on the prices I am not caving to giving real money for what seems a lost cause. Will continue to see what I can do but am not holding too much hope of completing this one...
For those who have yet to acquire a Chrysalis... Just wanted to let you know that if you have an Omnitat habitat that the Chrysalis dragons can hang out there. No need to spend your eggs on the Chrysalis habitat until the end of the event unless you want to.
I just wanted to repost Cyns post because it seems like a lot of people are getting the Chrysalis habitat first.
Also, BFS had to transfer some of my gifts from my bank into my vortex wallet because I couldn't collect any gifts. So I used the little advantage they gave me to buy enough pedestals to unlock Lacewing to share. I realize I'm not the only one, but if it helps...
According to the DV Breeding app, a DR is possible with any combo that includes chrysalis. A better combo is duskwing and swallowtail which will result in duskwing, swallowtail and chrysalis and they are the top three breeding timers for that pair.
I used mono 1 and 2 in the EBC and got a 20 hr timer, which means it can be 3,4 or 6.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I don't think that's a Mono6. It's a 24 hour dragon, making it 19h12m right? Maybe someone else can clarify as I have not yet managed to breed kne myself!
Thanks. Don't worry about bearing bad news. I also looked it up to figure out what I might have. A 25hr dragon (Mono 3 and 5), is 20 hrs in the enhanced breeding sites. A 24 hr dragon, which Mono 6 is supposed to be, is 19:12 reduced time.
That said, I don't remember if it was an 20 hr clock or 20 gems to speed up. I guess I'll find out in 10ish hrs. (8ish if real life was so enhanced).

Even though BFS says that you can unlock all the chrysalis dragons with just 2 dragons, this doesn't seem to be the case at all. After looking at all the breeding combinations, I think you'll need a minimum of 3 dragons to unlock them all.
I'm hoping I'll only need to purchase 2 dragons at the very most, since I'm counting the Marbletail as a given (from the Rotunda of Rewards). Here are the possible pairs I can get to unlock all the chrysalis dragons:
Chrysalis + Duskwing = no offspring but both can breed with Marbletail (Lacewing and Swallowtail) - This is the cheapest pair at 16990, and they're in Tiers 2 & 3, so they'll be available earlier. The drawback with this pair is that you can't unlock new dragons until you get the Marbletail from the Rotunda of Rewards.
Duskwing + Swallowtail = Chrysalis; Duskwing can breed with Marbletail (Lacewing) - If you can get access to Tier 4 early enough, this might be a good way to start breeding and unlocking more of the dragons before you get the Marbletail (which is 2 weeks away for those who are caught up at the Rotunda). This pair costs 17990.
Chrysalis + Lacewing = Duskwing; Chrysalis can breed with Marbletail (Swallowtail) - Same as above, but slightly more expensive at 18490.
Of course you can use the co-op cave to try and breed for the chrysalis dragons, but I'm setting this strategy aside in the event that I can't get any chrysalis dragons at all through co-op breeding. I'm definitely leaning towards the first pair (Chrysalis and Duskwing).
Would appreciate any corrections if anyone finds any!

Also, I'm not even bothering with Monolith 6 right now. Have my breeding areas dedicated to Quartz and Chrysalis, so Monolith 6 will have to wait till I have all the other dragons (in the distant future, probably).
And BFS really shot themselves in the foot when they didn't create unique designs for the Monolith (and Snowflake) eggs. Everyone's confused about which Monolith pedestal counts as a prize because they're all identical. Not good to alienate your customers by confusing them and disrupting their event strategies...

So maxing out just got easier :/ I have some friends' gifts totalling 5&600. I'm now going to have to develop a strategy to keep track of my gifts so that I don't exceed the 7K. I completely understand BFS' decision here, and whilst it makes my collection easier, it won't be as fun. I really liked "playing hard" as it gave me a great sense of accomplishment. And also I was really looking forward to getting a prize Ovalith, pedestal and reward habitat. Oh well! I'll just have to work out a new plan for what I want!

I just wish the Monolith Habitat I bought in the market counted as the prize listed... would make such a difference for getting 14 gifts to unlock the Epic statue... that's my ultimate goal in the event.
I finally got a Monolith 5 for the pedestal, after breeding for it in all three spots for a while. Also managed a Monolith 6 after only a few tries, which was nice. Anyway, I had the 5 in the coop cave, but I'm happy to switch it to the 6 if that would be better for others. Opinions? I'll switch to Mono 6 now unless friends (old or new ) prefer Mono 5.

So I just did some calculations and it will cost me 41,475 MEs to get the dragons I need, which is all Chrysali and Mono 6. But to achieve all of those, I need to waste 6285 MEs, which is the cost of each pedestal (excluding Mono 5) plus the the 2 "Shell" decos. I will this leave me short 6910 MEs if I max out and collect daily from the rotunda. So yep, my desire for the Ovalith reward-stuff is now a pipe dream unless I can breed multiple Chrysali. Breeding one cancels out the 6910 pedestal spend, and each additional Chrysali would grant me an additional prize.

Crazy! I have yet to breed any of the new dragons!!!!! I bought a chrysalis and have been using it nonstop in the coop. These odds are ridiculous for some and easy as pie for others. I think I'm taking a long hiatus after this event. It was really poorly done. Btwn making it difficult to max out daily, limiting the amount you can bank, confusing us with the monos, making it impossible for me to breed a single new dragon yada yada yada list goes on. It's just not fun anymore.
Sorry for the whine but I'm so frustrated. I've never been able to breed a prize dragon in my coop. I always end up having to buy them. I'm happy for those having koala and who are able to enjoy this event. Koala

Skeeter; fwiw; I decided to jump to the next tier (buying cheapest pedestals to unlock), and got duskwing not chrysalis (which , from the 2 fora I read in is not bringing much joy to anyone)...I'm gonna leave chrysalis til last...
i empathise re lack of joy ( while so many celebrate fortune, and yay for them, truly) w breeding event draggies... Am in that camp w you many koalas your way

All through the xmas event and up until this one (even through the roses) I tried to breed an ornamental and have never been able to. I've been breeding my mono5 with different friends' chrysalis non-stop since about day 2. Nothing. I get a little jealous of those folks who seem to breed them pretty easily.
Weird. I just opened my park and it opened to a screen from the Eggschange Center. It had a heading of "Limited" with a blue background but no prizes listed. Just as quickly as I saw it, it disappeared. Are we getting a limited prize soon? I sure hope not. I purchased 19998 MEs on doubles weekend. With those, the daily collections, and the 7000 cap from my bank (which I hit yesterday), I will only have 680 MEs left at the end if I buy all the new content, the Ovalith pedastal, and the reward gemstone habitat (old content that I did not have). I bought Chrysalis as soon as I bought the MEs and have been using it in co-op non stop with no luck getting any other dragons. If a limited prize comes out, I will have to re-calculate my purchases. Really hoping that screen was a fluke. Did anyone else see this?
On a really positive note, I bred Ovalith!!! I could not believe my luck. I tried for it the entire BEB this year and last and last spring when it was available. That made it possible to plan to collect all the remaining prizes, so I sure hope that limited screen was just an error.

I am also having difficulty breeding new dragons and especially the mono's. I just got the egg pedestal just prior to this event. Now with egg pedestals being required to unlock levels we are forced to collect them. My baby park is going to have a very long wait to see completion as I am not collecting egg pedestals. And this is my official whine!
I managed to breed a duskwing in the coop with my chrysalis and lacewing Now I think i have bred either a duskwing or chrysalis again, will know tomorrow. Atleast it will be good as an egg.
