Boy was July busy!! So many POTM! With the new month, comes a new installment of POTM. It works like this:
You find a post you like and you nominate it for Post of the Month. You do this by quoting the post and adding the comment "Post of the Month" or if you think you can't pull it off, simply "POTM". A Mod will move your POTM Reply to this thread. Conversely you can right click on the "Link to Post" at the bottom of each post and Copy Link Location. Then post in this thread with "Post of the Month" (or "POTM" if you think you can), right click in the thread and Paste. You cannot nominate your own post ... I mean c'mon ... that's just really lame ... no matter how cool/funny/clever/poignant you think you were. Each post can only be nominated once. The first person to do so gets the nod. On the 1st of next month (or thereabouts, I mean, we're all working folks here, well most of us) we'll make a Poll with all the nominated threads and everyone here will be invited to vote for their favorite thread. You'll have about a month to vote. So at the end of next month we'll have a winner, or more accurately, two, because the original poster AND the person who nominated them wins. What do you win? Gems of course. The mods will pay the winners.
So, to sum up. - Make good posts. - Nominate good posts. - Vote for posts. - Profit. - Have a laugh.
I'm hoping we can change houses if we want. Last year as a family group we weren't sure how everything would work so it was decided that everyone would choose 1 house in case it was necessary regarding dragons we received so we could be sure as a family to have access to all dragons for breeding. As the only 'adult' (my husband included 🙄) I took the leftovers Not my favorited (whinge whinge 😉).
Yes to cool new dragons Double yes to 3rd lost Island Yay! Keep the wishes coming! Although I have yet to spend one I can never convince myself that if I spend one I wont have just got it at the next special event and wasted my wish or worse yet what if something better comes along 🙄🙄! Wish hoarder here!!

Apropos of nothing, I just realized that I've got my chrysalis island right below my lighting island. The butterflies the chrysalis theme releases fly directly up into the lighting playing about the bottom of the lighting island.

I should not be bored. It just shouldn't happen in my reality. I LOVE events. Really love them. By now I should be knee deep in speed-breeding fails and low on gems. I should be plotting and planning and making lists of what I need and will get.
I do not understand this new reality, lol. A reality where I have not bought gems. A reality where I have nothing to speed-breed. A reality where There are so very few fails...mostly because there is only co-breeding.
I am bored. 😂
Still, I have high hopes for the next phase of the event. Maybe.

Mine cost me 0 magic, I got to keep all the magic I earned up to my daily limit (same as all the previous events). As for the food, I think I donated some, but my dragons ate all the rest.
Edit: I totaled up my contributions across my parks... IT 179,591, MS 55,686, BG 54,072, IB 53,202, HB 52,733 for a grand total of I PLAY WAY TOO MUCH
I very much like breeding, there was always something about it that kept DV so fresh and fun. I'm OK with not being able to breed during this event, but it does seem to me to be the best part of life in the vale. Well, one of the best anyway...
This summer I've taken to re-decorating the park. And honestly, the way the event has us contributing magic means collecting and searching is again exciting. Just like looking for flagbearers in years gone by, it has me looking over my park inch by inch and changing a little something here and another little something there. With the size of the park today I have to admit I haven't been decorating like I used to. This event has inspired me if nothing else.
Oh, and I must add: The rift dragons are BOSS. The animation is SO COOL!!! I absolutely LOVE THEM!! So, even not being able to breed them out of the gate, they are very much worth getting IMHO.
Here's something that's crossed my mind lately while going through the park: I wonder if the rift will give rise to a twin-like re-release of element couplings; which will suddenly become more breeding than we can handle. I noticed it while decorating the Olympic island with the pedestals from last year's house dragons and this year's rift house dragons.
So, for me anyway, I'm content with what DV is and has today knowing tomorrow I may once again be wishing for a little quiet time in game to do the things I keep meaning to get around to
So many decorating ideas, honestly, I'm more busy now during this event than I remember being in any recent ones. Now, where did I put that broom... Hey! Well bless the wizards - will you look at that; I think my house dragon is trying to help tidy up! Thanks little buddy!
Not for me. I've redecorated during decorations week, when all the island themes were on sale. Except for one island, I'm quite contend, how my park looks like now. For the last island I know WHAT I want to do with it, but I don't know HOW at the moment.
Also I'm no fan of the rift dragons. Didn't like dark and light rift in the past, now they look even worse. All the house rift dragons look quite odd and the elemental rifts look like aliens or robots to me.
I miss breeding and calculating during this event. This one is just about waiting. Even the old dragons like Tidal aren't breedable at the moment apart from cloning. That would be a lot of fun for players who are done with all the elemental dragons, but missed some of the old limiteds. I really appreciated those opportunities in the past.
All what I do now is breeding Babies of Gem- and Crystalline-Dragons. But what to do, if I already have these? Switch to the next upcoming breeding combination, just to have my breeding spots occupied and sell the dragons afterwards. It's not that I don't own enough DC right now, but I really look forward to The Om of Noms-event with the special treats to grow. I plan on spending all my DC and piling a huge hoard of treats like I did in the last two years. That's why I do banking like in all other events. Even if I don't get treats for my left over magic, I want as much DC, as possible for TOoNs, even if the exchange rate is quite poor.
Love the honesty and perspective! There is no right or wrong answer, only our perceptions.
