haha no worries. I'm happy to help. I hope everyone has lots of koala getting the dragons they need during BEB before the winter event begins.
What dragons were they exactly? The habitats a dragon can live in is not necessarily an accurate picture of what is needed to breed them.
I used the storm dragon + meteor dragon, and I indeed ended up with the motley dragon.
The motley dragon can show up in any pairing when the motley dragon is available. (Kind of an APril Fool's dragon) so is not an indication that the trait showed up in the child.
As the Wiki says "The Motley Dragon can be bred by using any two different dragons, in either order, regardless of their elements, at the Breeding Cave/Epic Breeding Island." (And, it appears, in the Rift now)

Ok another couple of baby rift Q's from an Utterly Rifted club founding member 😜 I think I just worked out that the reason some dragons in the d'arium have a coloured in rift symbol, is because they are RIFT dragons, other dragons with a greyed rift symbol means they can have rift cousins...check?
Second; have begun just methodically working my way through all the elemental rift-able ( can have rift cousins) dragons, to breed what I haven't got from fails of all the Rift dragons ( Kampos, viridian etc) suddenly wonders, is this doing it the hard way, or is it just of many one valid ways to breed at least one of all the rift-able dragons? I s'pose I'm thinking something like cost-benefit analysis, is ther a more E efficient way to do this, given I have ( thanks BFS) all the R special dragons now Whew, o lords of the Rift your oracular wisdom is awaited with much gratefulness and anticipation 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

Not quite. The rift symbol means they can have traits. The golden rift symbol means you have unlocked all possible traits.
That happens to be very easy with the riftboys, since they can only have one trait each.

So, I finished my set of rifted hybrid eggs yesterday. I just went for Primary + Primary until I got one of everything. I'd advise being careful with your elements when doing this, unless you need every combination of the elements I don't think adding more will help.
Let's say you need both fire/dark hybrids and plant/lightning hybrids. Don't be tempted to do something with all 4 elements because you're also adding in the fire/lightning, plant/dark, fire/plant and lightning/dark dragons which would be fails if you've already got them. ...Unless you need them as well of course.
It's going to be annoying when you want a dungeon and just keep getting watches but I don't think there's any helping that.

Wow, excellent timing with the release of the new rift dragons. This morning I just managed to get the last rift dragon that I needed! Although I do need 19 of the 'normal rift' pedestals.
And I will add to the 'tankyous' regarding Darkling and Thorn being limited.

this now officially confirms that Bramble, Darkling, and Thorn are all golden hybrids. I'm happy (although it's perfect time for them to fix the Bramble and Darkling pedestals, right? A guy can dream.... )
So 49 new dragons that can have rift traits (the golden hybrids) + the 90 basic hybrids + the 11 spooky + harvest and feast so that's 152 pedestals and 1,520 rift traits to unlock I'm going to be busy, busy, BUSY! Thankfully I already reserved space for this when I rearranged my gargantuan egg pedestal island in preparation for the original rift pedestals. But I was so close to getting all 90 pedestals (I have all the other rift pedestals - the 11 spooky, 2 harvest/feast, AND finally got zaffer and nimbus between yesterday and today to finish the 24 rift unique pedestals), so I have my work cut out for me.

It seems that the pedestal base designs are based (hehe) on the first element of the dragon, while the egg designs are determined by BFS. So I think as long as BFS fixes the element order for Darkling the pedestal base should be corrected too. And now that Bramble is confirmed as a golden hybrid, BFS should really change the egg design!

Today I was able to get Coldforge, Darkling (metal looks fantastic!), Ivy, Shining and Verdigris traited dragons. Coldforge isn't making any E though so I put it in hibernation for now.
