They gussied up the the 6th Anniversary Statue. Or did it happen before this update and I just now noticed? Or am I imagining things/losing my mind?
I hit the daily max easily with regular nest and den maintenance and breeding in the Rift (my usual, daily 11,000ish E, total, worth of breeding attempts). The Galaxy Islands are no longer in the menu. Was going to buy one with DC to make some room for incoming new dragons, but they are only available in the prize menu right now. No way I am using Stardust on that ... hopefully they'll be back to normal after the event is done.
Ack! I take that back- totally forgot I used Kairos after collecting everything the first time. Oops.
So, that makes about 15,000 E worth of Rift breeding, 9 total eggs hatched in the Park (my nests were not all full for the Kairos bump), 7 Park breedings, plus 8 gems spent to move a 3:11 egg off a den and to hatch it. I was well past 1000 pts. before completing all that, though, so I don't think extreme measures (Plant grinding) will be necessary to reach max every day- unless one ends up breeding bunch of Suns and Rainbows, Seasonals and Double Rainbows.

So I didn't know I needed to 'hatch' all the rift dragons. Bred up to 10k there, released them, and ended up with about 500 dust. Plant grinding for the rest of today, and hopefully earn more tomorrow with hatching.
This was a terrible design by Backflip. They should be completely aware that the majority of us release rift dragons and there should have been clearer warnings that hatching and releasing are not the same, especially given that releasing does earn points so that we wouldn't know. Or better yet, make selling, hatching and releasing all the same!
Btw, my first plant+plant earned 25 for the breed, 4 for the hatch. After that, only 4 per hatch and nothing on the breed.
I just realized my kids are going to get nothing from this event. They only have a basic breeding cave, coop with Norgrad (stupid gamecenter changes) and very small rift. I can see them getting <100 a day since they only get to play once a day.

My results the same as althea 's; in fact, made the mistake of doing some plant grinding before I had done all my Rift breeding; so to keep trying for Rhydra now will 'lose' me serious potential stardust on each breed, bother said Pooh. So: recommended actions: park maintenance, rift breeds to whatever your personal limit is, HATCH all breeds, collect stars, then lastly go thru the Vale and Rift hib caves and only sell unwanted babies until you reach daily dust limit, save the leftover unwanted hatchlings (someone cover the babies ears please) for selling the next day: in fact strategically, probably load up hib caves and use them as a bank? Thinking as I write as I think... So this may be flawed...

I just updated the OP and added a link to the BFS Star Fall FAQs page.
Ways to earn Star Dust Breeding dragons Incubating eggs Hatching dragons Selling dragons from the Nursery Releasing dragons for Etherium Displaying eggs as pedestals Finding and tapping fallen stars hidden in your park
So I just ran the numbers, 1000 per day, 13 days, 1 doubles weekend, +500 today and no other bonuses from calendars, banking, etc, that's 16,500 total. To buy both new dragons: 17,575. To get the limited Galaxy island too, 22,510. Not even counting the two new Celestial/Meridiem habitats for 4625 each.
This is certainly the first event where you can't get all the new dragons without purchases, minus the rosebud fiasco last event that ended up being fixed. Or an event where a minor purchase can get you everything new. On the flip side, these dragons should be breedable after the event, so you can perhaps skip them and go for habitats. That's 14,185 for all the habitats, leaving a little over 3k left over.
Guess this means my alt accounts need to get the Galaxy dragons, and I'll focus on the habitats. Collecting on those alt accounts that have smaller rifts is going to be painful..

I swear the last time I looked at mine, it was one, single, solid shade of grey, with no rune-like/swirly carvings, and no cloudy thing at the base? The water looks different, too? This one is gorgeous and detailed (snort) compared to how I remember it looking. Imma scoot over to the Wiki and see what their pic looks like ...

Good news is these galaxies seem to be permanent. Although probably at singularity difficulty. Sigh. The only things we HAVE to get with stardust are two habs and the fifth island. Normally there is a timer so I’m waiting to this double weekend to buy, so hopefully the fifth hab isn’t a one day thing.

So doing quick math... 13 days at 1000 a Day is 13000. If they do two double weekends each of them lasting 3 days, we can get up to 19,000. Plus the free 500. A HOPEFUL total of 19,500. (And I don’t know if they can do two double weekends because the event only includes two weekends)
Just buying the 5th Galaxy island, one Celestial habitat, and one Meridiem habitat will cost 14,185.
And since 6,750 stardust costs $49.99, those two new dragons at 8,325 and 9,250 stardust are DARNED expensive.
Now, I’ve been playing for 6 years and am at the top level, but this seems like it would be a deal breaker for enticing any newbie to join the game.

Cor! Your description alone is better than mine looks: reloading to see if it morphs lol
if you got the Sculptor's Special Limited Althea's edition I'll be in the whine lounge crying into my Laphroaig !
👣👣👣 OK, yes I THINK the runic carvings are new, the rest of mine looks no diff, got no cloudy base same ole moss, water looks same close up.... still mightily underwhelmed and keeping it obscured by other stuff to save it suffering mortifying embarrassment - o right, the dragon's mortified already, well, to save me the embarrassment of looking at it... 😈

Sigh. The feature that I miss the most is the daily calendar. I enjoyed the suspense of opening each day, and looking forward to Dragon Egg day. Hopefully, the calendar will be back next time...

I think the key is just to play the long game. This way, there's definitely always something to strive for!

Pro tip. Never buy unless it’s doubles. So that 50 dollar pack gives 13500. It’s still expensive for pixels but....
14185 + 8325 + 9250 = 31760. 31760-19500 = 12260. Perfectly hitting and raising the price point for crazed collectors.
The thing is the two habs and the islands are the only things we HAVE to get. The galaxies will come in time, ALOT of time I fear. But will be free. Since we got the T dragon to get it won’t effect fire breathing cause no one has it right now. We got TIME
Ps. Don’t forget about the potential limited dragon too. Blah. Also this doesn’t count pedestals
Ps2. Math going on here AVOID if necessary. Love you kiwi

I was a tad concerned when I saw how this event works, but it was fairly easy for me to reach 1000 star dust in the rift. I reached the max by breeding up to the first 1500 etherium breed available and hatched every dragon. I sold the dragons after. The only time I will choose not to hatch a dragon in this event is if I need the pedestal so it should continue to be fairly easy to reach the max dust using the rift. I didn't even need to collect a single star.
The fact that this event only lasts 14 days and getting most of the stuff I need will cost over 32000 is the real buzz kill here for me. Even if every day was doubles day I wouldn't be able to do it. So I will have to prioritize what I want and get what I can. Checking the cost I've discovered Star Dust ain't cheap. I suppose it's not that easy to collect and package for sale in pinches, vials, flasks, jars, bowls and hope chests .
Sigh. The feature that I miss the most is the daily calendar. I enjoyed the suspense of opening each day, and looking forward to Dragon Egg day. Hopefully, the calendar will be back next time...
The really bad thing about no calendar is we will not be gifted random Star Dust. Being gifted 100, 200, 1000 Star Dust would really help with this event.
PSA: Hatch all dragons, selling them reduces the dust collected!! My baby park hit max in easily with just rift breeding, but I had to hatch each dragon and then sell it. Its a loss of ~800 ether

So basically we have to choose between using our event cash on Habitats/Island or dragons or pony up real $ to aquire the new stuff. Over the years I have supported BFS with my time and my money and I am finding this rather insulting. Unless we have a couple of triple weekends instead of doubles or they say, “Ooops!” and gift us Star Dust, this is not doable. Are they hoping a few of us buy the new Galaxy dragons outright and then share? Are they going to make it easy or difficult to breed? I wonder if this is Hasbro’s doing because their latest game isn’t selling as they expected? Hasbro’s idea of a fun game Talk about stepping in it.
So we need to breed the new dragons in the co-op. Anyone have any idea what the elements are or what might be the best choice to breed one? Or does it really make any difference at all or should we just pick a random dragon to breed with one of the new galaxy dragons? Any suggestions?
Every day is a good day to feed dragons. Prisca#4020

I’ve already seen the new dragons on my friends list. My first three attempts. Electrum, platinum and rainbow. Ha. They also are showing up in mystery eggs
