Does this mean the $7,500 and $8,500 amounts are to actually purchase amounts? And NOT a cost to evolve the beasties?
Yeah, that's the cost to outright purchase the evolved dragon. It's cheaper Spice-wise to buy the deco and evolve if you have the prevo dragon available.
Well, that's it for me. Uninstalled. Another convoluted event I simply haven't the time and patience for. The fun's gone, time to call it quits. Can't be bothered anymore. Best of luck to everyone with their individual goals, and thanks for all the laughs here! This forum turned out to be the best thing about the game; great crowd of people here. Cheers and masses of marvellous marsupials to all.
I agree that the forum is the best part! I almost uninstalled during the last one, but decided to just poke at the game occasionally for fun, so I could still drop by here.

I think this is what i am coming to also.... last event only ended up participating in the ghost dragon breeding at the tail end cuz of the gambling aspect of obtaining the elusive parts & pieces i needed & also because i was not going to give up the one & only chromocorn i got by using a precious wish.... Think i am going to have to pick & choose what i am able to handle & do only that.... i absolutely refuse to spend real money here any more & hate hate hate the constant & never-ending events ... don't know how the game will be able to handle the huge influx of new dragons they are perpetually adding either ... feeling very frustrated & sad because i just loved backflip & dragonvale what it used to stand for...
will come in here for the good cheer & help & humor but will definitely be playing dragonvale very selectively for the first time 😔
Thanks, unlocked both within the first couple tries.
Meta-carotene is crazy good. They make Fiery Figs obsolete. Better cash-to-food ratio and it's not even time-limited.
What is the point of the special event crops now if they're not the best anymore? Guess I'll keep saving up for the next bumper crops mini-event, instead. That's gonna be nuts if Meta-carotene is included.
It's pretty close, Meta is 24 coins per food and Figs are 25 coins per food. So no more waiting until Thanksgiving to grow all your food during the year. Maybe that means they'll be adding level 25 dragons soon and running us out of food, and this is their way of helping!
Not sure what I will do about the level 20 thing, I don't have, nor do I want to spend 1775 or whatever the number is of gems to get the other relic needed. I'm limited to level 15 at the moment. I could spend one of my 2 wishes, but I just used one on my chromcorn Dragon. Blah....

*pokes spice totals* I've poked at the game about as much as it ever took me to cap in the last event and I'm sitting at a grand total of 263 spice earned for today so far... Not seeing the point, honestly. (Not muttering about quitting, just potentially slacking off for this event rather than treadmilling my way to exhaustion and likely still not capping.)

This event is really picking on the newer players (like myself). You have to get a level 20 leaf dragon to get a curleyleaf right? Not fair ☹️ It hasn’t even been a full day and this event is starting to feel worse than dragon boat and candy bash V combined. Don’t forget about the prices of the treats, my word. If it wasn’t for the off to the races micro event, I’d probably be broke

Not really Om of Noms related, but the Halloween thread has gone where old threads go to die. I was away for a couple of days (got so disgusted by the Halloween event that I couldn't bring myself to start up the game), and came back to find a duplicate Ghostly Mountain Dragon egg ready to hatch. The egg is cool looking, floating around above the nest. I want to know whether they do the same thing on a pedestal? If so, I want to preserve it; if it just sits there and looks like a translucent regular egg, I'd rather hatch a second ghostly mountain so I can keep one in baby form. Anyone have a pedestal who can report back?

Oh my gosh - I thought it was just me. I have never had a problem reaching the daily limit especially after breeding up to 5k in the rift. I’m at about 560. Kind of frustrated.

I picked up a Ghostly Ghost Pedestal with some of my spare currency because the notion of a ghost that was even more ghost-y made me giggle. Not quite as dramatically elevated (I think), but it's still actively floaty and swaying a bit above its pedestal.

Hi bethmo , I decided not to bother with Ghostly’s, but seem to recall the pedestals in the prize tent had a wibbly wobbly (‘timey wimey’) thing going on, floating above the base and sorta undulating... maybe visit some of your friends parks, and check out their ped collections, or ?DVWiki May have pics...or our own sandbox maybe (👣👣👣👣 off to check)
👣👣👣👣👣 no, neither sandbox nor dvwiki have moving eggs (even rifties) so it must be too hard to show the shimmer and wobble

I see what they are doing with this event. By having the cap harder and adding the community pool back in, they are trying to force us to watch ads for stupid event currency. Community pool or not, I refuse to watch anything unless I get a gem.
They also found a great way to make us waste all our resources, leveling rift dragons to level 20, which I never do. The new dragons don’t have a rift symbol but there is the evolve possibility on the right rift dragons. So basically we are supposed to waste all our Etherium and/or dragontreats to level those up.
Does anyone have the exact cost to level them up? In Etherium and dragontreats. Couldn’t find it anywhere.
Just want to see if this is even a possibility for me, otherwise I might just skip the rift version of these new dragons.

It floats, but the effect is much more subtle. The egg in the hatchery moves side to side by almost the entire width of the egg, whereas on the pedestal it sort of tilts from one side to the other. Looking at the Obsidian egg with its earth pedestal, the egg stays within the bounds of the "trunk" of the pedestal supporting it below. Hope this helps.

Wanted to say that I appreciate so much all the info y'all have shared about this event! I've unlocked all the treats in all my games now, so it's a matter of figuring out what dragons I can get for however much spice I can get, and whether I want to go through the trouble of unlocking dragons for less spice than buying outright. Yesterday, I got to the max in one game easily after collecting from full habitats when the event began and then activating Kairos so the habitats were full again. So today I'll see how collecting from my rift every 3-4 hours does - will the collection rate decrease the closer I get to the daily max even though the rift habitats are fill? Thanks to everyone for sharing your knowledge. I'm disappointed that the Om of Noms, which was my favorite event because it was just about getting food cheaply, is now yet another event slog and I'll probably use all my treats leveling up event dragons, but hopefully, I can adjust expectations so I have some fun too.
