I really planned poorly this event. My attention was elsewhere for sure and I mismanaged my event dragon purchases. Now that the time has passed to buy the limited dragons, all that is available for me to purchase is the daffadowndilly and petunia regular dragons and the pedestals. And of course the prismatic pantheon. After that there is nothing left for me to buy. I have everything else but the spritely pedestal which I will pick up. It's a real waste. I have 17,000 roses at the moment and nothing to do with them. And I was not able to breed anything this event. I was not able to breed any of the recent limited dragons and I wasn't able to clone the event dragons. Nor was I able to get twins or rift versions. Of the first limited dragons I was able to get a couple in the rift but that was it. If I had been paying attention I could have bought a couple of the limiteds while they were available. Oh well that will teach me to get so involved in my life.
You can hold out hope that the limited dragons will return for a day or two when the event ends but the market is still open. They've done that in one or two events in the past, and several of us wrote them asking them to do it again with these dragons. Fever and Brilliant weren't marked as limited breeding until the very last minute, which was unfair to those planning and assuming they could breed them after the event was done. We asked if they'd consider putting them up again at the end, I'm crossing my fingers that they do.
Well, since I have absolutely nothing at all to spend my event currency on I will have roses to buy the limited dragons should they become available and I do hope BFS decides to do that.

Thanks for that thought. In one game, I'm 400 roses short of being able to buy the Prismatic Pantheon. I would spend two bucks to get it, except that I understand that then I won't get visions-for-gems for 6 weeks, and I'm not willing to spend two bucks AND give up six weeks worth of vision gems! I don't have the mental bandwidth this morning to see where else I might spend my roses, since so much is taken up with "I don't have the roses to get what I want in any of my games." But if Fever and Brilliant came back, that would be worth thinking about if I have the roses to get one.
I don't know that it was possible to plan well for spending roses, since there were so many limited prize tiers and we didn't know what would be on the next limited tier and what the various dragons would cost that we weren't able to breed. The numbers of variables easily overwhelmed my mathematical skills, and I felt they were stingy with the roses this event anyway, too many dragons and decos for the length of the rose-gathering portion of the event.

No luck in the coop trying for Daffadowndilly, so bought it and the pedestal this morning. Now trying to clone a Silverline in the coop since that’s the only one I didn’t manage to get.

What?! No Fever or Brilliant dragons available in the Boutique? I can't believe BFS was so stingy as to not make them available again, considering their marking them as permanent until the last minute. I have emailed BFS support to complain about this. There's just no reason to be this stingy! Talk about fostering ill will amongst your customers. I'm disgusted. 🤬

Well this is a disappointment to say the least. Only Petunia and Daffadowndilly are in the prize tent. I had a hard time knowing what to do in this event, was afraid to use roses on dragons since there was no way to know what and how many were coming next. All those bugs didn’t help either. Having dragons available to breed and then suddenly not, Fever and Brilliant not showing as limited. Only the Aura dragons in categories in the Dragonarium, having to scroll through all dragons to find the other ones. Plus playing in slow motion, crashing and other annoying bugs.
After buying what I need I have a bunch of roses left and nothing to use them on. Missing a few dragons though, so it looks like I will be stuck cloning for the rest of my life. In my book this is the worst event they have ever had, just feels like a huge waste of time.
I thought their goal was to sell roses, why not have all the dragons available to buy in the end of the event then. Just saying...

And here is BFS's response:
Hello,
The Fever and Brilliant Dragons were always limited and were available only for the duration of the timer shown in the limited section of prize market. They did not initially have the hourglass icon in the Dragonarium because doing so prevents them from appearing in the elemental Dragonarium collections. We learned that this was causing some players to think that the dragons were permanent and later added the hourglass icon to indicate their limited availability in the Dragonarium. We apologize for any confusion this has caused. Best Regards, Mike
I'm decidedly unimpressed. Just because they don't know how their Dragonarium works doesn't mean that we should have to pay the price. It's just a game, but that's weak sauce. 👎🏾

What was the trade in value for roses? Trying to determine if buying/selling an item would be better.
Any leftover roses will be converted to DC at an exchange rate of 1 rose for 1,000 DC.
The Moonstruck pedestal is the best roses-to-cash conversion. Costs 400 roses and sells for 2,500,000 DC.

Due to a potential limit on the number of friends a player can have before issues arise in the game, I will only be able to add Forum members. Thank you, for your understanding, and please consider joining us!
I'd like to apologise for my contribution to the Brilliant/Fever confusion – when I posted the combos on page 7 and noted they appeared to be permanent I should have stopped to think, then also noted that they were probably not intended to be permanent and that it would be safer to buy them before they expired.
I shall attempt to do better if this situation happens again... which is sadly fairly likely. 😔

That is a terrible response, and I'm also unhappy with their decision. Most of the various DV discussion groups were under the assumption that these would end up being permanent hybrids after the event. They confused the majority of their players, and we based decisions on what to breed and buy with those false assumptions. They cleared it up only on the very last day they were available, without notification, and many of us missed the change.
It would have cost them nothing to add them back in to the market for the next couple days, and it would have generated them quite a bit of good will. I had high hopes that they would bring them back when they didn't deny the possibility in earlier emails. What a missed opportunity for them.

No, that's totally not your fault. I believe that some players could breed these dragons just because of you posting the combination. And yet another bunch of players was able to breed them in coop with these first ones. So thank you, Arkynos, thank you very much for always posting the breeding hints that quickly

Yeah rare hybrids becoming limiteds and kinda last minute too was sketchy. That and randomly adding the Prismatic Pantheon last minute which I did manage to get (just barely). These kind of things really throw off planning especially if you miss breeding a limited dragon. The last thing you want to have is 10,000+ roses and nothing to spend them on...
Overall, I didn't hate the event but way too many new dragons for a traditionally mid-small sized event and the last minute add-ins I listed above detracted from it being a great event. On a side note, I already miss donations. Have so many dragons just sitting in my social menu waiting to be donated for event currency

Well, I’m 50 Roses short of the 9250 needed to get a Daffodowndilly. Do I have any friends out there who would 💙 one for me? I’d be forever grateful... 🤗

I added you. My code is in my signature or the quick link is in the friend list. I have a level 20 up.
Well my mistake this event... I calculated if I would have enough roses for the Pantheon plus Amaryillis. I bought the Pantheon first not thinking about the amount of time on the timers. 🤦🏼♀️
And now I sit on 13,000 extra roses and missing two dragons from the event instead of just one. I should hopefully get Fever in three days with the reward egg coming up since I am not missing any other rare dragons.

Hey hey hey You did absolutely nothing wrong. You have been nothing but helpful with your combos ans explanations. I blame the game for tricking us and myself for my stupidity. I was thinking they might be limited but then I trusted the Dragonarium. Thought I could get them fairly easily afterwards since my extra park bred both of them. I didn’t get Derecho either because my extra park had that one also, so I thought it would be wiser to save my roses for other ones. Ended up breeding those other ones so I didn’t buy anything and now it’s a mess, missing a bunch of pedestals and dragons. I feel like this event was some sort of lottery I couldn’t think my way through. Kicking myself here now for not doing things differently.
So dearest Luggageman, don’t hold back your very helpful information in the future, it was the game that screwed this up, not you. Your help here is priceless!

Arkynos I'm not sure what you could do better. The dragons started off being breedable, then they weren't. They were showing as permanent and then suddenly they weren't that either. I feel that the game changed the rules once the event started, which isn't very sporting of them. You do expect the rules to stay constant during an event and not change part way through.

For clarity, I'm less feeling guilty than disappointed. Mostly in BFS for the issue (the way the elemental categories work is apparently ridiculous) and response (it wouldn't have hurt to bring the weekly limiteds back for the post-event market days, and might have even encouraged last minute rose purchases). But also a little in myself for not trusting the nagging feeling I had regarding those dragons, and not posting to advise caution regarding them.
It probably didn't warrant a formal apology, but... I'm British: unnecessary apologising is our national pastime! ...Well, that and colonialism I suppose. 😒
It's a real shame, because without the aforementioned shenanigans, I'd say that this was an excellent event. I like all the new dragons. 8/10 of them were breedable, with reasonable combos... albeit with pretty low chances. Thematically, it was different and interesting; fun story wise as well. The greyscale effect on the Vale was very cool, and I'm glad we got the Pantheon to control it at the end. There was no big obnoxious feature like Ghostlies, Dragon Drop Decorations, the Pay-to-breed Cave or Bingo Boards. I think it was the best event in over a year, and it's sad that the hourglass mistake has to put a dampener on it.
Arkynos, I came to the same conclusion as you without your mentioning it, so no sweat. (I did, however, speed-breed because I SIMPLY DON'T TRUST this BFS).
That said, I miss the old days. Would and did happily pay them. Now it's different.
