It's true, in the older past events you could finish them out with a 5-10 dollar purchase, and you'd often not even need that. I would buy or breed every dragon (usually two) and then sometimes need that extra push to finish up the decorations and get seconds of a final dragon or two. Or I'd spend 5 dollars at the start of an event and get that extra early push to get way ahead, even though it wasn't needed.
Now 5 dollars gets you 1500 eggs on a doubles day. That's roughly 10 percent of a single dragon, you'd need 50 dollars to get an entire one! And then doing that purchase, while getting you 1500 eggs, will remove the opportunity for 100s of free gems from visions. And we're not given enough currency to buy all the dragons, that changed over a year ago.
That's not even the only thing with crazy costs in the game. 10 dollars gets you 9000 Etherium. Now as a long standing player with an active rift, I'm making roughly 11,000 Etherium every 2-3 hours. For 10 dollars I can save myself 2 hours? That's insane. If I could buy 1+ million Etherium for 10 dollars, I might consider it on rare occasions. They're off by a factor of 100 if they want to sell this to me.
I have the same issues with spending any real $$ on this game too. Rigel costs 6500 gems... or about $130 (IIRC). You can get a few Etherium for another couple hundred dollars. This event, the rewards are so expensive in eggs and those are very expensive to get anywhere as well. If you got 10x as much for a purchase I might consider it, but if you are patient you can accumulate the same amount of 'things' for free.

Hm. Do I want to buy the new "green icons" habitat (will have juuuuust enough) or pick up a bunch of other incidental stuff (like that blasted Pearlescent pedestal because I'm never going to get another outside of daily log-in/RNG eggs)... I shall sleep on it, will have time before the event ends.
One thing to remember as this event winds down. If you’re going to purchase a Pearlescent, make sure to do it before reset today as it will expire then. I’ve made this type of mistake in at least two previous events, where I carefully plan what I’m going to buy at the end with my currency only to be foiled by an expiring dragon. But not this time!
I’m about to go re-do my final calculations to make sure I know what I’m doing and am adding correctly. Then, it’s Pearlescent time. I think I may have just gotten enough eggs to get everything I wanted, except for the grey and brown color cubes. But I can certainly live without those for now. Here goes...

Done! I purchased the Pearlescent dragon, the 3 new habitats, the 2 chrysalis habs that I didn't have, 3 peds, and 2 other limited dragons. Still don't have Ditto or Faux but I am hoping to be able to coop them. Used Quil's spreadsheet throughout the event and was able to gain a lot of eggs from the BBC. So glad this very long event is almost over!
Well I can't complain with event outcomes, ended up getting all 10 new ones and all 3 Harmonious Habitats but just barely with just 7 eggs remaining. Although I enjoyed this event, It was way too hard to get all the new content considering I had to spend 600-700 gems on speeding up and that's with great luck. We essentially had to rely on co-op breeding to be successful and to me that shouldn't ever be a "requirement" for an event as it's available year round.

I’m guessing the cloning rules apply, ie if you have one you can try cloning a second... I could be sooo wrong tho; the LOTV will chip in with wisdom soon 😊
I just turned on the colors again, after black and white through the whole event. Gotta put my sunglasses on, I'm not used to the bright colors. I also liked the butterflies and wanted to turn them back on and see how they look in color, but sadly, they don't appear in the weather station anymore. I know they were there before, I had to turn them off on my "antique" iPad, but I guess we don't get to keep them. I don't think they were offered as a prize selection or anything, right?

Rift dragons can only be bred in the Rift, so the CBC won't work. We should be able to breed a second in the Rift. I can't think of any reason why we wouldn't be able to. The only dragons cloning doesn't work for are the "evolved" dragons. I'm certainly going to be trying in my Rift!

I have to say this event was a success for me. I was able to breed most of the dragons and had enough eggs to purchase the rest (Pearlescent, Dittoglide and Faux). I also purchased all three Harmonious Habitats and the Omega Brown color cube. Couldn't get the One Shade of Gray color cube, but that's no biggie. I'm sure I'll get it eventually and I don't use color cubes that much anyways. After all of this, I have 19 eggs remaining. Whew!
A special shout-out to Quil, whose spreadsheet was invaluable in my late push to get enough eggs to accomplish this. Couldn't have done it without you! 🎖🏆🏅

Thanks for the confirmation. Just wishful thinking on my part Once I try breeding it in the rift, it's going back to my park. It's too beautiful to leave in my overcrowded rift.

So, if you forget to claim an egg from the BBC (as I did) it chooses an egg at random. I meant to claim an opulent but forgot and I got a chiltin as punishment 😢
Also if you forgot to claim your last breed in the BCB they gave you the eggs for it. Not sure if they did if your breed was not done, mine would have finished 10 minutes before the reset and I missed getting in to claim it before the reset. Didn’t breed or clone anything the whole event, so not a great event for me, but I can say that I think they cleaned up well at the end of this event versus how they left things at the end of other events ( not giving you the food you paid to grow).

Oh man, I had decided against getting the weather station because i didn't see it as an incredible benefit...but the butterflies! That's certainly a game changer! Good to know for when it's available again!
After purchasing Pearlescent, I still don't have Ditto, Faux or Gildamane but am looking at the habitats too. Was only able to breed Morpho and one other. Any advice?
