So... the people that had zero luck in cloning these two dragons have zero chance at even breeding for the dragon. If anything they should have opened up the two dragons to available that you need to use for the new one. 😡

If you have just one of either Ditto or Faux, you're probably best off trying to breed that with the other in co-op and hope to either clone the missing dragon or breed a Violetta. Unfortunately Violetta is 18 hours, and so are Permafrosts, so you can't determine success without the egg reaching the nursery.
Oh, but at least there's a gem sale starting today on the high end packages! That's so very thoughtful of them, given how many gems we'll be using to try to clone / breed this thing. It's almost like they somehow knew we'd need gems if we wanted these dragons...

Yeah, each event, BFS/HASBRO’s efforts to force us to spend RL$ have increased...it feels like being herded into a corner 😲 me, not doing it dont mind having new goal dragons sitting there...took me 1.5 years to get Gourd 😂
theyre working on on our FOMO especially bad for completionists...long game folks, play the long game and enjoy the journey 😊 (that dratted Pollyanna creature jus keeps popping in to visit) 😈

No 🐨 here w Elder Fire, so I think it was one of those early event luck thingies that seem to occur each event. If you’re late to the party, the first wave of successful tries is gone i KNOW the statisticians will disagree with this, but it’s been both my observation and lived experience over years now with this game last event I got all the dragons within the first few hours this event, as with every other event, I’ve been several hours late in even updating, and had no extra 🐨 with breeding, except super slowly through the whole event, often not getting all new draggys til way after event is over, or next BeB.
Re upgrading to Elder, I’d do one at a time as your food stores allow; they really help with some things, and not at all with others... There may be some wisdom out there re which one to level up first, I’m not sure
I agree w/you on your theory...whenever I’ve ever successfully bred a new, low odds Dragon, it has been on my 1st one or two shots in whatever breeding area I was using.

Got 18hrs 1st try with Faux and Ditto *Crosses Fingers its Violetta". Wish they hadn't made it the same breeding time as Conifer/Permafrost, those are always annoying fails...

I tried several times to breed with the breeding combo, with no luck. I switched to Faux with a friend’s Violetta, and while it still took several tries, I finally was able to clone it.

Along with everyone else, I'm very disappointed with the breeding pair for Violetta.
I can see that this will be another event where it won't be possible to get all the dragons. And cloning them in co-op will be next to impossible because of the dreadful breeding odds.

I'm hoping this might be of help to others. I wanted to get the most out of the Burcadian Breeding Cave, so I needed a way to track the dragons I've found in the cave and the ones I still need to collect for the 100 bonus. I created a Google doc with every dragon in the game that can be bred or cloned. I sorted it by incubation time (the new 80 percent off time for the cave), so that I can focus on the shorter incubations first. It also lists if the dragons are available to breed today, the combo, and if not it will state 'Clone' if that's the only way to get it. There's a completed checkbox on the right for when you find one, and if you want you can create a simple filter to filter out completed rows.
I found Quil’s post on egg history and went back and did all the short breeding times. Thank you Quil for putting in the time to make the spreadsheet, your the best.
