Swell news! Poison and Mountain have finally reached level 10 in my new park’s Rift. So here’s the first four results (I did these breeds before the reset, so I can post four more later, after I return to the park)...
RIFT: POISON + MOUNTAIN
1 May 2019 Park level: 31 Poison/p (lvl 10) + Mountain/d (lvl 10) Alignment: m
On Thursday, since I didn’t have Poison and Mountain at level 10, I decided to try for the re-released evolvable dragons. Fire Rift (lvl 10) + Earth Rift (lvl 4) = Coal on the first try, Bone on the second, Lava on third. Since I already had all the other possible dragons from the combo, decided to try for Gift. Poison (lvl 8) + Cold (lvl 8) = Gift on first attempt. Was it all just luck? Decided to find out and tried it again on Friday: Coal, Soot, Lava, Bone. Since I’m Etheriumly limited to four breeds a day, didn’t have a chance to try for Gift.
Even though it’s common knowledge that park levels make a difference in breeding results, every time I bring up a new park, I’m still amazed at just how much a difference it makes. We have many examples of how newer parks are given leniency: all elements don’t have to be fulfilled to win races; dragons at level 10 can win gold in the Colosseum; and rare, epic, and limited dragons can be bred at low levels. It makes perfect sense that leniency is given early on; otherwise, new players who have limited resources and dragons would really struggle. And since that’s always bad for player retention, games usually accommodate newer players. In my experience, the leniency seems to taper off at approximately levels 14, 29, 49, 79, etc. But it’s not a hard break, there’s still some level 29 advantages at 33, especially if you’re missing many dragons.
Quil, I know you’re combining data across all parks regardless of their levels. Since there aren’t a lot of players contributing right now this is the only option to get enough numbers. However, keeping track of park levels along with the breeding data they’re contributing today, may be very useful in the future when park levels are factored into the breeding odds for accuracy. And it could open a fascinating study into how much a park’s level changes the odds. You already have a wide variety of parks ranging from 31-125, so this is a good sampling start.
The same could be noted about dragon levels, which we know also makes a difference in breeding results. Separating the current data based on dragon levels would not only assist in accuracy, but in the future when more players are contributing results, it could offer a potential to examine how much dragon levels impact breeding outcomes.

I've updated the name of the thread, I was told the original was too boring!
For those who have been helping with data collection, there's an exciting new post that I'll work to tie in with what we are doing here: The Big Reveal. I've been going crazy calculating numbers.
