A lot of us are trying for Rigel. It should be very quickly apparent that they can’t be cloned, based on our results.
My thoughts exactly. If cloning were possible, it seems like someone would have done so by now in trying for Rigel. Unless the cloning odds are very, very tiny.

greggerman I'm afraid not. None of the Galaxies were made Rift/Cave/Island breedable with this change, just that they can now always be used as a parent wherever.
wait wait wait wait wait wait. Hold on. You mean to tell me. That BFS only allowed the galaxy dragons as PARENTS at any breeding spot, but they aren’t OUTCOMES from breeding at say the EBI, even when using like + like?!?! Oh man. If that’s really the case, I’m going to be very disappointed that I’ve been wasting time breeding for non twin egg pedestals... 😔😰
I've noticed this event during this past mini star fall event. I tried Like + Like galaxy in regular caves and nothing for almost the whole duration of the event. This was odd considering like + like results in the same dragon at about rate of 20-25% so I'm guessing they can't be outcomes which makes no sense...
And Quil Great job on all the testing! Pretty much on par with what I've noticed anecdotally over the years of playing and doing mini tests here and there.

I don’t think anyone in this thread is doubting that Galaxy dragons can’t be cloned. On the contrary, everyone is convinced they cannot be — that’s the problem – it contradicts the announcement.
The larger issue is that many players do not use social media or forums to play DV, so they’re not privy to info from the files or other players’ breeding results for Rigel. These players remain in the dark.

You’re correct. Cloning is not possible right now, and there’s no indication if/when it will be available.

I am back in town tonight, although I won't get much of a chance to go over the code until tomorrow at the earliest.
I did a quick check of the loot boxes, which I find to be fair game in sharing here. When you get a summer costume piece from a chest, there's a huge chunk of conditions that it runs through to determine which piece to get. They all have different weights, which I'll post later, but for example head might be 20, leg 100, and tail 50 for one of the two sets of Darcowl. The other set may have different numbers too. And then there are lots of checks getting you a much higher weighted piece if you own nothing of the set and there are various duplicate rules that I'll need to read later too.
On the chests themselves, they have weights on how often they appear: Gold: 3350 Treats: 3350 Gems: 500 Costumes: 100 Costume Dups: 900 (If you have less than 2): Magic Egg: 300 (If you have 2 or more): Magic Egg: 100
I assume the more/less than 2 refer to the number of times we've gotten an egg, but I'm not exactly sure.
I do not know if these weights work as exact percentages, like a new costume piece is 100 out of the sum of everything, or in some other way. The first would mean about a 1.2 percent change for a new piece, which might seem low given how many I originally received, but there's a catch. If you fall into the costume dups range, you can still get a new costume piece if you don't own certain ones, which is why I was getting lots of new pieces at first, non dups, and thinking the drop rate is higher than it really is. So you'll get some kind of costume piece roughly 10 percent of the time, and 9 out of 10 times it falls into the 'dupe' code.
Thought this might be helpful. While they can't be bred, these will eventually be the combination and should help you decide what to use to clone them. The breeding chance will be 1.75% (again, you can not breed them now). Outrider: light + air + metal Darcowl: dark + earth + metal Riptide: water + dark + air Quantum: light + cold + dark
All four dragons have the same cloning odds: Normal/Rift Clone: 30% Normal/Rift Single Parent Clone: 0.75% Social Clone: 10% Social Single Parent Clone: 1.5%
I find it interesting that cloning them is not even 1 percent outside the social cave, yet breeding them is more than double that. This is another point where breeding is better than cloning when they return in the next BeB. The other interesting note is that if you have 1 parent, you might want to clone it in the social cave for double the chance vs other caves.

This is really interesting and useful information for if/when these dragons are able to be bred.
It would be great to have a spot where these little gems could be stored. With so many dragons and different breeding/cloning odds for all of them, I am never going to remember that these dragons are better to try breeding rather than single parent cloning. I would always default to cloning over breeding.
I think an escaped koala happened upon my park today. I have been trying and trying to clone Outrider with no success so finally purchased it with magic yesterday evening. By-the-way, I noticed yesterday that when playing name the egg, some of the chests contained magic and that, even after I reached the daily maximum, the magic in those chests counted towards my total magic earned.
But, back to the koala...this morning I noticed someone had Quantum in the co-op so bred my Outrider with that Quantum and got Quantum on the first try! I can't believe it, lol. It shouldn't have happened, and yet it did. Shell shocked. And happy.
I wish I could remember the order of events. I know that this morning I looked to see if I had all the pieces for Quantum and I did not. I can't remember whether I got the final piece for one of the costumes before or after I cloned it. I can definitely say I only have one complete set for it.
it just needs some Koalas
dragon list (last dragon : Gatren) DV friend id: Crumble#7733 friend link coop friends always welcome, but all my gems are spoken for
crumble608 , Seem to be short on koalas in my park, starting Day 7 with only four outfit pieces and zero new dragons. My park seems to attract DragonCash and DragonTreats only though I did manage one whole Gem for spending 20 Gems one day!
So I am wasting my time trying for an Outrider with someone else’s and my Elder Light in the Co-Op Cave?
I got an Outrider dragon in the CBC using a friend’s and my Elder Light. And I saw that BFS confirmed in a friend’s email to them that these new dragons can be cloned, so long as one of the parents is the target dragon. So koala all!!
The only other costumes that are currently defined are those for the dragon that until the very last minute I thought was going to be released alongside the first four. It'll presumably arrive as a limited alongside its costume pieces. I only have potential names for the rest so I can't say for certain, but I think it's likely that they'll all have them too. Sorry if this is bad news bearing. 🐻
The following is pure conjecture, but it doesn't look like there's enough weeks in the event for the six limiteds to be one a week so I have a suspicion they'll arrive in pairs.

I'm working on a full spreadsheet with all sorts of data from the file, but until then I've put this together to help with the numbers:
This contains all of the dragons as of today, with the breeding odds and cloning odds. There are up to 3 odds for breeding, and I believe the last populated number will be accurate for most of us. As discussed earlier, some dragons have multiple numbers such as the Air dragon, where it's 100 percent when you don't own one, 33 when you do.
For cloning, it lists Normal, Rift, and Social. Parent cloning is when you only use one as a parent instead of two of the same, and is generally much lower odds.
Not all data is populated here, and when you don't see data, it's using default values and calculations. We talked about how normal hybrids don't even have breeding odds, they share a pool of left over chances once all the other dragons with numbers are calculated. This sheet also don't include special breeding chances, such as having different odds during various events.
It also doesn't include what's limited or available to breed, and just lists everything. For example, Outrider is showing with a 1.75% breed chance, but that's only when you CAN breed it, which isn't today. But you can see the clone chance is 1.5% in the social cave, with 1 parent, and it can be cloned today.
Also keep in mind that these numbers are NOT the final breeding numbers, as those numbers can be lower with large result sets. For example, Chromacorn is listed as a 0.5% breed chance, but because there is 785 percent chances of other things total, along with a set 10 percent rainbow/dbl rainbow result, and 2 percent roughly for the normal hybrids, the final number for Chromacorn is closer to 0.05%, one tenth that, during BeB.
Armament dragon is out, I have some bad news on breeding it (metal / light / fire). "breeding_chance_0": 0.005 "breeding_chance_1": 0.02
What this likely means is that if you don't own one, you have a 0.5% chance. Once you own one, it's 2%. Cloning is still 1.5 percent in social, 2 when you take note that you could also breed it at the same time.
Running the numbers, it looks like if you breed through 10k in the rift for 7 days, you'll have a 40 percent chance of getting one. It would really help to have one in a social cave, a few speedups per day would give you a much higher percentage chance to clone+breed one.

This isn’t bad news to me, this is actually really helpful. In my stupidity I wasn’t even realizing this dragon was breedable, so thank you for that. Thought you needed the comstume pieces to buy it, totally escaped me that it was actually breedable also. I think I am getting more and more utterly clueless in this game, maybe I am getting old. Going to take a little break from the testing in my test park (yes I am calling it that now), think I have to try to get this new dragon. Even though the odds are low, who knows, this park has been really lucky with dragons so far.
Just changed my mind while writing this, D.Rainbow and Rainbow have been really kind to me, so I think I am going to continue with them to try for this dragon, even though the odds are extremely low. In case I get it, I will put up the test parks friend ID on here, if anyone wants to friend it. That park already has Dracowl, so maybe I should just put it up anyway, wasn’t thinking about that earlier.
PSA: Rigel has been added to the Daily Rewards Galaxy Egg of Mystery!
I know many people on this forum have a great interest in knowing if/when Rigel will be relegated to the Daily Rewards egg. Over the last five days, a couple players on Reddit have stating they received Rigel from the Daily Rewards mystery egg. From the screenshots, it appears they did receive Rigel from the Daily Rewards and not the regular mystery egg or the Galaxy Egg of Mystery currently for sale in the Rift.

I can confirm this as a family member received one a few days ago as a log in reward. They were pretty far behind me as I haven’t missed a day since launch of the rewards.
Thanks for the confirmation amos! I’ve been away for a week, so I’m just now catching up on a week’s worth of posts on this forum and Reddit. I haven’t tried breeding Rigel yet, because BEB has been very helpful filling in other traited dragons I need. Now I’ll probably pass on breeding Riggy and wait until the Daily Rewards turns up a Galaxy egg. I’ll still have to breed two Galaxies for Rigel the next time it’s available for a second and a pedestal. But I’m in no hurry.

Yes, I can also confirm that I received one a couple weeks ago. I tried cloning for another one, but with no luck. If I am understanding correctly from the previous posts, one cannot clone a Rigel? This is the part I don’t get. The breeding hint says the breeding pair must be galaxy dragons. But it won’t work if one or both of the parents is/are a Rigel? Or did I misinterpret?
