As you guys know, I no longer spend real money on DV and I don’t mind using my gem stash. I have been playing the guess the Egg game and have accumulated the following enhancements:
Darcowl’s Conjured Spellform: Legs = 3 Tail = 2 Head = 0

So, we can’t buy the new dragons without the spell forms and you need the dragons to get the spellforms via the big gateway thingybob transformer, unless you’ve chosen a game which gives you chests which may contain spellform pieces.... Don’t play the pinball drop game (my reflexes are too slow for the other drop game)! I’ve played it twice daily and no chests appeared, spent gems on one chest for 3 lots of food... Looks like noodles has the right idea I’m switching to name the egg!
👣👣👣👣👣15 gems later in name the egg, 9 chests of food and dc.... 😟 with each game I have this increasing sense of being herded into the gem shop by Hasbro 👿 less fun with each event, sadly
ah well, there’s always the remote whiff of a possible faint chance of cloning the new dragons in coop 😈

No luck here. I haven't managed to collect a single spellform piece, and I'm pretty good at the daily games.
Since these new dragons are supposedly breedable in co-op, I think I'll try breeding some and hope my luck gets better. Because that Darcowl and Outrider are so cute! I must have them. ❤

I play 5 games and some seem to be luckier in this event than others, even with spending gems. Today, my luck in all games has felt worse, fewer pieces and more dupes when I do get pieces, but it’s mostly treats and cash, with a couple of gems here and there.

I have been fairly lucky getting chests with pieces in them, but am having no luck in cloning the one dragon in my co-op. sigh I am sort of uninterested in this event for some reason, so if I cannot get all of the pieces or dragons, I think I'm going to be okay with that, lol.

13 extra drops for chests, 65 gems, for ONE enhancement. I am livid right now. I was also fortunate to get a Metal Rift as well. *groans* I got all 13 chests without missing them. So frustrated right now.
Edit: 21 chests out of 23, with 3 enhancements. 75 gems.... Edit 2: It took 14 chests in my baby park to get my first enhancement.

Breeding Target: Ovalith. It's ALWAYS Ovalith! Hoarded gems as a safety net to ensure an Ovalith during BEB, but I'm not sure if I want to spend them: I think I want the thrill of breeding it! Gems wasted on speeding up Ovalith breeding/incubation: 2890

Ive done around 120 gems so far. Getting the chest everytime in Magic Tap. Only just got an outrider enhancement. I think I will also have to try Guess the egg. I do wonder how many gems Noodles has had to go through to get that many. Does this count as an official whine??
I will try co-op now that a couple people have dragons. Any ideas what elements they contain (ie the best elder to try)?

Arkynos has kindly put all the dragons and their elements on the first page of this thread. Except for Outrider, they all share dark as an element.

I have been spamming the Name that Dragon game a bit too much and yesterday actually got a piece from All 3 Chests from one go. I sat and stared for at least 30 seconds. And totally didn’t think of taking a screen shot... so even tho I got the pieces It Didn’t Really Happen because I don’t have a picture. 😏 But I can buy the Outrider from the bazaar if I had that much magic which I don’t. Off to try cloning...

I’ve used around 1000 gems, but that includes the few hundred I used to unsuccessfully clone an Outrider.
I have also been lucky to occasionally get 2 or 3 pieces in one set of chests.
I have decided to only try for more pieces from name the egg if I need Magic to max out and I’m no longer using gems to speed up clone attempts. I’ve got around 1500 gems left and I want to save them for any limited dragons.

I've posted some details on how the loot chests work in the reveal thread, though I'm still working out some of the rules. I think it's safe to say here that you can play any of the games and have equal chance on costume pieces, that some pieces are rarer than others, and that duplicates can happen and are more likely than new pieces as you start to fill your collection. You'll probably want to finish the last pieces with the guaranteed new costume loot chests for magic in the shop, similar to previous events.
Hi All of the magic I earn from the Parade Gardens goes into the community reward even though I haven't maxed out. Is this supposed to happen?
It feels like a glitch. I don’t think it was like that when the event started. I did get magic at the beginning of the day for the previous day’s last collection, but only 60 magic not 120. After that, collecting from the Parade Gardens didn’t add to my daily total at all, just to the community award. They’re either sloppy with this event or they’re deliberately changing the rules from day to day, which is not a way to keep players happy when the changes make gameplay harder.

Thanks. I emailed BFS to ask if this was the way this was intended to work. Will post when I get an answer.
Same here, no collecting from habitats anymore, so I played a round of drop thinggy, got some earnings which were added to my total and afterwards I couod again collect normally. Happened twice. Strange.
Thoughts: The winter event at least gave you three decos that even if duplicates could be exchanged for 150 event currency then you could trade that in for an unowned deco once you spent so many gems. The spending of gems for mostly food and coin and no guarantee of pieces is not worth it to me. The dragons are expensive currency wise so why not have made the pieces to find or buy. It still would be a lot of event currency for one dragon. I still play and enjoy the game after shifting expectations, but the events aren’t as fun as they use to be for me.
And how are we supposed to get pieces for 6 more dragons and can you imagine if it is a small amount of time for limiteds?!? I hope the limiteds do not require costumes.
I do love the designs of the new dragons and think it is a neat concept. The artwork on the opening screen is gorgeous and I would love to pay the artists if things were different/more like they used to be when I supported the game designers. Maybe one day... until then I go forth with my sloth mode attitude and get what I can, when I can and enjoy what I have.
Question: can you earn pieces through any form of golden chest (races) or just the gamery chests?
from the FAQ : Spellform pieces can be acquired from the Energy Chests in the Bizarre Bazaar, and may also be found in Golden Chests won in mini-games.
So I doubt that they can be found in chests from quests.

In one game, I did something before setting new dragons in the Parade Gardens. When I went into Parade Gardens second, the magic didn’t add to my daily total, just went to community award. So that game starts the day 60 magic behind. Guess I’ll be doing extra rift breeds or spending lots of gems trying for chests to get to the max in that game today. Sigh...
