Got a 24hr. timer and got all excited. Thought I'd bred an Eldritch dragon until I realized Decay and Nesting share the same breeding time. Checked change icon in the friend menu and sure enough no Eldritch

Hi all! I normally squirrel away every bit of eggs, magic, candy, whatever the event is selling, but this time I decided to mix it up! Bought ELDRITCH and have up in co-op , koala all!
I've been spending gems for extra guesses at the dragon eggs and have now won two pieces after spending about thirty gems. Now I suddenly realise that the shroud pieces (all two of them) I've aquired are exactly the same as the whole complete collection I gathered during a previous event. Does this mean I don't need to make another collection to be able to evolve the new dragons?
Since these really should be known: Golden Chest weights - Cash: 1000 Treats: 1000 Candy: 2000 Halloween 18 Decos: 600 Gems: 800 First Egg: 600 XP (If under max): 800
So currently no chance of getting anything new?
Cesspit#5766
Unfortunately, no. As amos and Arkynos stated, the new costume pieces haven’t been released yet. I’m not sure why BFS did it this way, but it’s not helpful at all. If you win a golden chest there’s no hope of making any progress in this event.
Has anyone started to collect shroud pieces via the games? I’ve paid for two chest-plays and gotten two rounds of chests for free, and so far I've gotten some candy and gems and cash, plus two old ornaments from last year's Halloween event. Are they seriously going to make us wade through an extra 30 fails from the start in order to get anything new? Didn’t we get enough of these as fails last year??
(Any word on what the odds of getting a new/dupe shroud piece are this time?)
I’d wait until all the costumes are released before purchasing extra mini-game plays. Same strategy as the Secrets of Spellform for the Enhancement dragons. We may be forced to play the mini-games early if costumes expire with the limited timer, but hopefully it’ll be like the Spellform event and they’ll still be available in the chests. Or just be available in the event store, since there are no guaranteed golden chests for sale in the Bizarre Bazaar.

Due to a potential limit on the number of friends a player can have before issues arise in the game, I will only be able to add Forum members. Thank you, for your understanding, and please consider joining us!

Yet. They may release the chests with the spellform dragons.
Surprised how fast currency is racked up during this event. Was able to buy the new dragon in only 2 days (averaged about 5500-6000 candy/day). Gotta say it is a pain switching out/in like + like dragons in the rift but well worth it on double days if you're able to do like + like breeding.

I just want to give a big appreciative shout out to those generous forumers who buy new draggies and coop them for others, some of you do this time after time as well. Thankyou 😊🌻🌻🌻🐲🐲🐲🐨🐨🐨🐨
I was able to get Eldritch with Level 20 Ghostly Moss (need that ghostly twin). 🐉❤️
Koala all. 🐨
P.S. I decided to spend up to 100 gems in an attempt to get it before I bought it. My last fail was going to cost me 22 gems. I had spent 83 gems already. It was going to push me over by 5, but I hadn’t spent my 100 yet. 😜 So last try after spending 105 gems. 🥰
They should have the possibility of buying a Rift dragon in the Bazaar, instead of just a normal one. Especially since there are becoming too many dragons to count, and hardly any of them are Rift breedable when they come out.
I don’t think they’ll ever allow players to buy traited versions. That’s suppose to be the challenge of the Rift. You can’t buy it or wish for it. You can only breed it or spend Etherium on a mystery egg and hope for it.
I do wonder if there was a plan at one time though. I was on when Tumblethorn was in the rift market for 10,000 E and the pedestal was 1,000 E. I bought both before they quickly disappeared. I thought then that we would be able to buy new dragons in the market when they were released...but not yet.
It has been like that for more than 12 hours. There is a glitch. I hope BFS compensates for the loss.
Ya, I think it might be fixed now but that's not going help with what has already been collected. Not to mention I wasted Ts'aishen because I was short on time today. It did not collect double candy, stopped at 500. Oh well I better get cracking now that it's fixed. Perhaps BFS will make up for it...not gonna hold my breath though. Maybe if they gave themselves more time between events there would be less glitches. Just saying.
I also noticed on Thursday that the game was not paying out double, despite it being a Double Day. I emailed Backflip to notify them of the glitch and asked to be compensated, because I’m most active on the game later in the day/evening, when the glitch was active.
I just checked my email 10 minutes ago and noticed BFS responded yesterday (around 4.40 PM their time MDT). They apologised and compensated the loss by adding 1,000 Candy to my total. To be honest, I didn’t really notice the additional amount. I just thought I was rocking this event. Hah!
But seriously, if you ever notice a bug and are negatively affected by it, contact BFS and let them know so they’ll be fully aware of the extent of the problem and can address it and any losses. If you think it’s worth it, ask BFS to compensate you for the Thursday bug. They’re very receptive and understanding about glitches, especially if they’ve already acknowledged them. If you don’t think it’s worth it, I can certainly understand that too, just wanted to let you know there’s a 1,000 Candy option.

When the first set of Rift exclusives were released, BFS put them up for sale in the Rift market for a limited time. You’re right, they haven’t done it since. I was referring to acquiring dragons with traits (they must be bred in the Rift, not bought, or wished). All Rift exclusives like the ones that were in the Rift market and Chromacorn and Pearlescent, who show up in the event store, can be bought and wished upon.
I like the challenge of the traits, but I’m really into the Rift, and many players are not, so I can see how it’d be super annoying to not be able to select traited versions of a dragon.

Thanks for posting about that option adlerist. I do appreciate the thought. I have to say I do lament the old days before Hasbro, when BFS would acknowledge when a glitch happened and compensate everyone automatically with a gift of 1,000 event currency. Apparently those days are long gone. Probably because there are a lot more glitches nowadays, no doubt BFS feels it would break the bank if they compensated players for all of them.
What really bothers me though is how I now hesitate to notify BFS of any issues. After reading about how often they infer you are not telling the truth when you complain about something and leave you feeling even worse, I shy away from reaching out to them. I don't know when adding insult to injury became an effective customer service tool but it certainly has worked with me. I don't like knowing there is a possibility of being called a liar or a cheat so I don't bother emailing backflip anymore. I guess I can see how that approach can work and it cuts down on people reporting issues and expecting compensation. It certainly has worked on me.

I’m very sorry you and others have had negative experiences emailing BFS. I have never had a bad interaction with them, and I contact them a lot, so I’m pretty sure that isn’t the normal response you’ll receive from them. I may not always get the answers I want, which can be frustrating, but they have never been rude or accusatory.
I imagine there are several people who reply to emails under the name 'Mike'. Otherwise, Mike is one really busy guy. Try to not let your negative incident discourage you too much, maybe that customer service rep was having a really bad day.
In the end, emailing BFS with bugs and complains is the only recourse we have. It’s the only way we’ll see the fixes, compensation, and technical assistance we need. So it’s really unfortunate you’ve had an adverse exchange with them or read of other people’s poor interactions and feel that door is now closed. I can only tell you that my experience has been very different. Hopefully you can give BFS another chance when you’re feeling more comfortable about emailing them. Sorry you have to go though this.

With contacting BF could it be where you stand? We are not global moderators or such and so BF doesn't look at us in the same light when we contact them. I know the feeling the others are speaking of and my experience was with a Brandy. When you send in info and they come back and say they can't find anything wrong then ask if your sure. This is even after sending in proof. Then nothing is done. Just food for thought. 🐨 to all.

Nope; I’ve been obliquely once and directly once, challenged about being ‘incorrect’ in my reporting of a glitch and loss in gems. I was a GM at both times; once Brandy (not unusual sadly) once (sadly) Mike. i don’t bother anymore either, I hate the feeling of being thought to be a cheat. And it’s not worth my energy cost.
It's unlikely that our membership status on this forum has any bearing on BFS's response to us; I doubt our community is any different from the Reddit or Facebook groups out there. It's more likely that it depends on who is responding to us at any given time.
GCID: rionhow Thanks to ElektronX for my Light Rift avatar!

What bank? What does it actually cost them to give us event currency or dragoncash or gems?
That statement was kind of tongue in cheek and more a dig at how many glitches we see lately. There is no literal bank and there is no actual concrete cost to giving everyone 1000 of whatever event currency is currently in play. That is the way the old BFS would handle it, you would open your game and there would be a gift of a 1000 pieces of whatever in your gift menu. You didn't have to email them and try to convince them that their mess up cost you.
Of course while there is no bank, there is a cost inherent in giving away event currency and gems. I personally believe the cost is mitigated by the goodwill gained but that's just me. And right now BFS is all about getting players to use up their gems, burn through their stashes and spend real money on the game. Which is certainly understandable and necessary to sustain the game, I just think there could be a better balance.
I have acquired the uncanny Eldritch, and it is glorious!
Eldritch is fully fed and in the co-op. If you’re interested and we’re not DV friends, please message me. I am more than happy to add you. (But please heed Kiwichris’s broom warnings and do not post in this thread — lest your words be swept away.)
To my current friends, I’ve changed my Friend ID to match my forum name (adlerist#5274) because it was causing much confusion. If I have a gem/treat exchange with you, my old ID may show in your Gifts. At least that’s what I’ve noticed with other friends who changed their name after I added them.
dee (aka snoops), I tried to co-op with your Eldritch and managed to wrangle us some twin Thickets, but sadly, my friend, I did not find Eldritch. If you want, we can double down and try for twin Eldries simultaneously. I’ll start breeding mine with yours now.
Many happy koala returns to everyone and their Eldritches. I will add more forum members from these threads and send a PM so you’re aware of the silent add.
Thanks! I’ve been breeding with you for the last two days. I finally got another but, sadly, it want a twin. Let’s keep trying for the elusive twin! -Snoops

I'm not sure how to interpret the data you've shared. You contact BFS a lot and have never been told you are mistaken about something you know is true. So those of us who have been made to feel like we are trying to get over or something are not the norm. I'm not sure if that means we just need to contact them more often so we can get the normal response or, since you have never had a negative one, if that will really help at all. I am not trying to dismiss your positive experiences with BFS, I get that this is your experience, but many of us do not share that experience as of late. And I somehow doubt that it's just customer service reps having bad days. I think it's more systemic and shows a change in attitude company wide. But you are right in the end emailing BFS is the only recourse we have when it comes to bugs and such. I just think I will leave that to those players who are getting the normal response when they contact BFS and not being made to feel like liars and cheaters. It's not worth it to me for 1000 pieces of event currency. But I am grateful to you and others who take the time to report this stuff so that it does get fixed and allows me the privilege of not having to interact with BFS.

I enjoyed nagini’s quip, cos that’s the angle the old bfs used to take, to keep goodwill and gain player loyalty, and it worked with me, spent RL$ regularly and happily, and oft emailed them thanks and appreciation. Geez, we even had a personal link thru SBF winning that meet and greet comp 😄 good days... but everything changes and the Overlords, who ONLY care about shareholder$$ bought dv, and they use the stick, not the carrot, and although I’ve said this before, I STILL don’t get why they risk, and have lost, losing players through their stick policy maybe we are not whales and it’s only whales that count ( wouldn’t that be fab in RL 😃) anyhoo, play this game with beautiful dragon creatures, and enjoy the temporary escape from increasingly crazy RL, that’s my current position fwiw 😄
Thank you Kiwichris and rion for the information and input on the matter. I had forgotten that Kiwichris was a global moderator ---- I remember when you had your put down by BF not that long ago. There is enough of this in the real life world and we sure do not need it in Dragonvale which should be a fun escape from the RL. 😵 🐨 everyone.
