With contacting BF could it be where you stand? We are not global moderators or such and so BF doesn't look at us in the same light when we contact them. I know the feeling the others are speaking of and my experience was with a Brandy. When you send in info and they come back and say they can't find anything wrong then ask if your sure. This is even after sending in proof. Then nothing is done. Just food for thought. 🐨 to all.
When I contact BFS I never mention the forum, and while they could go through the trouble of connecting players’ games to their activities on DV forums and social sites, I don’t think they do. I’ve emailed BFS long before becoming a moderator here and haven’t had problems with them.
I usually receive replies from 'Mike', but I’ve also had responses from 'Brandy'. These are just generic names to sign emails. There are lots of people replying to the many help tickets BFS receives. Companies often use the same names for all their email replies because customers feel more comfortable, thinking they’ve built a rapport with the rep, the familiar name who keeps responding to their emails.
So if you have a bad experience with BFS, don’t let that dissuade you from contacting them if you have a question or need help. It’s likely you’ll have someone different responding to you the next time. Koala!

Thanks adlerist for your time and info it will be a while before I contact BF because I have had more than one bad experience with them when I have ask for help with a problem. I have always been polite with them because I understand we need their help from time to time on different issues. Being told that they feel you are trying to pull something when their glitches cause us problems doesn't leave you with a warm and fuzzy feelings for BF. The game players are what/who keeps them in jobs and Hasbro pulling in the money, they act like they could care less. Things change and not for the best sometimes---miss the old BF.😕 🐨 to all 🎃

I'm not sure how to interpret the data you've shared. You contact BFS a lot and have never been told you are mistaken about something you know is true. So those of us who have been made to feel like we are trying to get over or something are not the norm. I'm not sure if that means we just need to contact them more often so we can get the normal response or, since you have never had a negative one, if that will really help at all. I am not trying to dismiss your positive experiences with BFS, I get that this is your experience, but many of us do not share that experience as of late. And I somehow doubt that it's just customer service reps having bad days. I think it's more systemic and shows a change in attitude company wide. But you are right in the end emailing BFS is the only recourse we have when it comes to bugs and such. I just think I will leave that to those players who are getting the normal response when they contact BFS and not being made to feel like liars and cheaters. It's not worth it to me for 1000 pieces of event currency. But I am grateful to you and others who take the time to report this stuff so that it does get fixed and allows me the privilege of not having to interact with BFS.
I have contacted BFS in the past, and they couldn’t find the issue I was complaining about after reviewing my game. This sounds similar to what you and others are referring to. I didn’t take their reply as not believing me or that I was lying, but rather that they couldn’t recreate and locate the issue so they couldn’t resolve it. However, I can see how this could be interpreted as not believing the player or accusing the player of lying.
There have been many more instances when I’ve complained about losing Etherium because they misprinted the Chromacorn breeding combo or the description of the Chrysalis Mystery Egg, or accidentally selling a dragon, and they’ve reimbursed me in full for those errors. So yes, I was not compensated when they couldn’t find the problem, but I was compensated when they could find it, which has occurred much more frequently. I’m not focusing on the negative experience. I’m lumping all my contacts with them together. When I do, on average, my experience with BFS has been positive.
BFS has never called me a liar or said I was cheating. I think people are inferring this language, but if someone has received an email that says the player is a liar or cheater, I’d be very interested in seeing it. I do know that BFS does not look kindly on players who hack the game. If they suspect you have, they will not provide you with any customer support, and it is cheating.
The reason why I mentioned my experiences is to let you and others know that every contact with BFS isn’t deemed as negative, most aren’t. If we’re to judge them based on the replies we receive, then it’s fair to include the good with the bad. I’ve asked many questions about events or the game and they’ve been very friendly and responded quickly. But most importantly, I don’t want to discourage players from reaching out to BFS with problems and questions for fear of a negative response, because that’s not really the case, and it leaves them with nowhere to turn.

Thanks! I’ve been breeding with you for the last two days. I finally got another but, sadly, it want a twin. Let’s keep trying for the elusive twin! -Snoops
My dear Snoops, I’ve been breeding with your Eldritch non-stop for days. So far all I’ve gotten us are twin Poisons. You don’t get more uneventful than that.
Edit: but I am still trying and will not stop until the twins Eldries show!

Trust me when I tell you that all of the work and time we volunteers put into this board promoting and helping others with DragonVale provides us not one iota of benefit from BFS.
Has anyone figured out the rhyme or reason as to the pumpkins showing up? I no sooner clear them and the next time I log onto the game, there are more. I thought maybe they refresh every 12 hours but now I have them refresh sooner. I think they are stalking me.

The little 10 Magic Pumpkins spawn one every 4 hours, can have 2 in your park at once, and a total of 5 of them can spawn in your park a day. They're probably the ones you're noticing.
The big one is one spawn a day. The other two types both have 12 hour respawns, 2 spawning of each a day, and can have up to 2 of each in your park at a time.
I only bother collecting them once a day though. 😒 Sub-optimal gameplay oh nooooooo I have clearly brought shame on my family and should be cast out like the Fake Gamer®️ I am

I hate the bingo cards. So looks like a stellar boring event again. Doubt I will earn enough to catch up on the old evolution packs, and may not earn enough to get anything new either.

If we look on the bright side of this, at least you get all of the items needed to evolve the dragon you may be missing and you get to use event candy/currency. BFS was selling the pieces for crazy gem prices before.

Bingo Boat is not my favorite. I hate using all my breeding spots and E to try to get the dragons to send away. Even using like+like it almost always gives me the other dragons with the elements. Coral + Coral just netted me SIX Salamander dragons. 😒 I am not spending 200 gems to clear boards. Oh well, not all events can be as great as the last one...
I usually stop trying in the rift after the third like+like fail, and i make myself stop at 10,000 e for breeding cost.
Sometimes I think BFS changes the odds after each card is completed, making it harder to get the requested dragon- why else would you get so many salamanders??
According to the sandbox, the odds favor getting a coral dragon with coral+coral.
Thank you adleris and cyn will keep that in mind and consider. All on this thread have done a fantastic job and are a great group. 👍 Have always been very helpful and quick to answer. Thank you for the guidance and answers as well as the laughs along the way. Have only been doing DragonVale since 2017 so am still learning as I go.🎮🐉 📖 🐨 to everyone 🍀

You guys all have my undying gratitude for all the work and time you put into this board. I realize that my gratitude and five bucks might get you a cup of coffee depending on where you purchase it and what type your looking for, and is of no benefit at all. Still, since it's all I got, I'll add to my useless gratitude and throw in a worthless wish for you guys to get compensated from BFS for all you do. For sure you are responsible for many players increased enjoyment with the game and for helping us navigate all the twists and turns. No doubt you have positively impacted the bottom line for BFS. There should be rewards.

You make some good points here. Perhaps delineation between help and compensation could make the BFS's customer service responses clearer. If you are looking for help, in my experience emailing BFS will be positive. They were very helpful when I had an egg stuck in the rift and other issues like that and fixed my problems quickly and efficiently. Compensation can be a different matter. When BFS can't recreate or locate an issue, they will not take the player's word for it and you will not be compensated for whatever type of loss you have incurred. This can certainly feel like being called a liar and a cheat. And it does feel like adding insult to injury. I do get that for BFS it makes sense not to take the word of a player. People could email them with all kinds of bogus complaints. I don't think that would happen, but I understand the fear that it might. However, you mention how you were not compensated when they could not find the problem but you know that you did indeed have a problem so the fact that they could not find it still does not change that reality. That being said, it would be nice if BFS could take that outcome into consideration and understand that just because they don't find it doesn't mean it didn't happen. Perhaps they could have a consolation prize for times like that. You don't get back what you lost but you get 5 gems or something so that you don't come away from the experience feeling like you've been called a liar and a cheat. But you are right, I doubt BFS has actually called anyone those words, the experience just invokes those feelings. Still in all fairness at least BFS has customer service. And they have customer service that will respond to you. And if you need help they will do their best to give it.
I've contacted Backflip quite often with bugs, suggestions, and feedback over the years. Looks like I average about 3 emails a year, and I've been playing since 2011. Most of my interactions have been very positive, although I did fight with them quite a bit over the loss of visions when I made an in game purchase a year or two ago. I imagine they get quite a few emails from players asking for something back, and unfortunately given the nature of the anonymous internet I would guess that many of those requests aren't valid. Their reps would then need to look at each one, checking the history of the player's account and reproducing the problem. Given the vast number of park and device configurations, that can't be an easy job.
The few times I have lost something, I generally don't ask for it back and instead write them with something along the lines of : "I spent/did the following in game and the results weren't expected and this was lost. You should get this fixed before it impacts too many other players.". I give them every detail I can think of to reproduce what I did. A few times I got a 'thank you, we're going to fix it or we're sending your suggestion to the team' and that's it, but most of the time I also get back whatever was lost too.
I do remember in the old days that they would send our compensation to all players everywhere when something was broken in game. The problems happen so often now with their quick release events that they mostly have given up on that policy. How many times have new dragons been breedable at the start of an event, only to be removed minutes or hours later with the rest of us wasting gems and etherium trying to breed it? They keep making the same mistakes over and over.
Has anyone figured out the rhyme or reason as to the pumpkins showing up? I no sooner clear them and the next time I log onto the game, there are more. I thought maybe they refresh every 12 hours but now I have them refresh sooner. I think they are stalking me.

Thanks, Arky, I was starting to think they were mocking me. I would prefer they gave them all right after reset so I could find them, be done with it for the day, and return colour to my park. As it is I have to keep my park colourless the entire day instead of enjoying the event theme. Rather sad way to run an event.

Thank you, cynmed. That’s some expensive coffee you’re drinking! I take mine black.
I for one would not want compensation from BFS, makes you beholden to the company line. As it is I can gripe and complain when warranted and you know I do... FREEDOM! The only reward I want is BFS going back to the time when if they knew they screwed up (announcing Doubles but forgetting to activate Doubles), compensating all players automatically without being asked.
So after purchasing the Eldritch dragon I only fed him to Level 13 figuring I would be safe from long fails in the Co-Op. NOPE, but at least I now have a Rainbow fail sitting there if the Airship calls for one.
Tip: the Donations earn lots of candy, fast, especially if you donate dragons that combine the needed elements.
RIFT BREEDING COUNTS FOR DONATION! Even with dragons at only 13/14 level, I was able to get needed donations for the specific dragons on the first or second breeding. Since Rift breeding is instant, this is a fast, quick source of candy, especially for those who've got developed Rift areas.
I've already got the Eldritch, without having to spend any actual $$. There doesn't seem to be any limit on the candy you can get each day, either.
After you find all the pumpkin visitors, they'll reappear again in a few hours, and again just after midnight (EST). The minigames also reset after midnight, so you can do searches for pumpkins three times a day, and play the minigames twice.
