Shouldn't we have gotten an in game notification?

I had been traveling from late Dec to just last week, so was trying to catch up with all the activities and missing dragons, and not having a chance to log onto the forum. (apologies to those friends whom I have not returned gifts since I was at places without fast internet connection). Last time I checked the "help" button, it still listed event to run through 1/12. I was even so diligent to claim my dragons from the runic caves the eve of Jan 12! Imagine my surprise to wake up on 1/13 to find the Frond being released! While I am happy that we continue to have new materials to play with, it is unfortunate that I don't have any more claims for the runic caves.

I have a feeling this happened to a lot of players since there was no in-game notice and most don’t follow DV on social media. But I understand DV has reimbursed some players, so if anyone thinks it’s worth it, please send them an email.

On a much happier note, welcome back, ladyj. You were very, very, greatly missed!

Got the right time for a Frond in the Coop w/Dragon Grower’s Lvl 20 Frond & my Lvl 21 Ghostly Plant. Thanks DG 👌. Then I got a Frond in Rift w/a Lvl 17 Water & Lvl 20 Plant...this one is 💙ed.

Hatched the regular Frond, now it’s 💙ed.

Others have noticed also I'm sure but I noticed the other day that when Spellmason is walk/
gliding his wings are gray and white on top. When he flies they are stain glass print
on both sides..at least in my park. That took some thought on making him special.🌈

You wouldn’t have wanted to use your runic cave claim on a dragon with only two elements anyway that will most likely be a permanent soon after the event ends. Save those runic claims when they come around for a dragon with 200 fails!

Is anyone else having trouble breeding the new Frond? I've been trying for two days and nothing but Swamp, Tidepool, Seaweed and good old Motley.  How hard can it be to breed a two element dragon? Using Plant & Water Elders which should give better odds.

I don't really want to use iceberries to get him - although I have plenty and nothing else to spend them on. But it is more satisfying to breed the dragon than buy it.

It’s just the weird RNG luck of the game. I bred Frond on the second attempt in the Epic Breeding Cave with elder plant + elder water. My secondary account bred it on the third try with Tidepool (level 16) in the co-op using my Frond. I just took Frond out of the co-op, because it didn’t look like anyone was using him anymore. If you need Frondy, let me know; I can put him back in.

When does the Jolly Jubilee end?

The Jolly Jubilee has been extended and will now run through January 26th, and conclude on January 27th at 11am Mountain Time. When the event ends, the Mirthful Market will remain open for 2 extra days so you can spend any leftover Iceberries you may have.

Backflip was shutdown two months ago, but due to working laws in Colorado the team was given two months notice. Their last day is next week. Unless something changes, this will be the final 'new' DV event. We are hopeful that they keep on enough staff to continue to cycle existing events in the future and provide enough support that they are allowed to continue, but no one knows what will happen in 2020. This uncertainty is driving away a significant number of players which only hurts the chances of keeping the game running. I wish they would have made an announcement regarding the future of the game, but perhaps Hasbro doesn't even know yet - or perhaps they're milking one last event for revenue.

Is there any update on this please?

I’ve noticed this as well, and it’s super annoying. I hope they fix it soon, maybe I’ll send an email. If any else hasn’t noticed, themes can’t be set with the Twilight Tower or Weather Station, because as soon as you reopen the game or switch parks, it reverts back to the event theme (Winter) and now rain. This has happened before during other events, and it’s not good for players who have crashing problems and need to turn off the animation of the Weather Station.

It wasn’t like this at the beginning of the event, but in trying to resolve the issue that caused Double Icecberries Day to switch to the Spectral (Hallowe’en) theme with bats, they’ve permanently fixed the theme to Winter, which is far worse, because we can’t change it. The event theme should never override the Twilight Tower and Weather Station selections — it completely renders the Twilight Tower and Weather Station useless.
