After trying about a dozen times for a Thrasher in the Rift w/Lightning & Metal (both Lvl 20), I switched to Lvl 13 Lodestone & Lvl 11 Copper ( the only 2 Metal/Lightning combos I had in the Rift) and got it after about a half dozen tries. 😀. It’s now 💙ed.
BFS employees did leave in oct. They didn't stay for two months they were laid off. There's a post about this a couple posts after the one you quoted. A small group of people working on dragonvale stayed until dec. I've been following this closely and so far this is all we know dragonvale-tips.proboards.com/post/192960
Does anyone know how many more dragons BFS have that haven't been released? I don't mean a definite number but an approximate. I know this event is basically over and we won't see anymore for this event but there seems to be more.
I just want to say thank you to bfs! I loved the event dragons for your last event especially the final one Spellmason! They were beauitful!
We’ve received mild hints of golden hybrids in-waiting. The IG post from the BFS employee, which I linked in the Updates thread and you linked in your post, said (in the replies) that she had a few dragons in the backlog. Also, there was a recent accidental leak in the game that revealed the name and image of an unreleased dragon (it wasn’t Frond or Thrasher). So there’s at least one more running around, but who knows exactly how many are in the backlog. And how many will make it to the Vale.

adlerist can you let me know what the replies to that Instagram post say? I keep hearing about the replies and how they talk about the new owners but people on Facebook and Reddit just give summaries of what they remember the replies say. It isn’t very reliable. I don’t have Insta so I can’t see the replies online or I haven’t figured out how to see them lol. Sorry to be a pest, I should probably breakdown and get Insta.
I’ve noticed this as well, and it’s super annoying. I hope they fix it soon, maybe I’ll send an email. If any else hasn’t noticed, themes can’t be set with the Twilight Tower or Weather Station, because as soon as you reopen the game or switch parks, it reverts back to the event theme (Winter) and now rain. This has happened before during other events, and it’s not good for players who have crashing problems and need to turn off the animation of the Weather Station.
It wasn’t like this at the beginning of the event, but in trying to resolve the issue that caused Double Icecberries Day to switch to the Spectral (Hallowe’en) theme with bats, they’ve permanently fixed the theme to Winter, which is far worse, because we can’t change it. The event theme should never override the Twilight Tower and Weather Station selections — it completely renders the Twilight Tower and Weather Station useless.
I'm really irritated by this too. My vision has problems with some colors and light and dark shades so i have a fave theme that makes it easier for me to see my park and find flag people. The rain also makes it harder to see. It's annoying to have to change the theme and weather EVERY SINGLE TIME I start the game. It does totally make the tower and weather station useless and i wonder why i wasted gems buying them if they don't work.
I have some new parks & one is trying for the dawn dragon which requires daytime but since it’s always nighttime with the theme that’s been forced on us I have to remember to change it every time I logon which I never do which means I’ll never breed dawn before it leaves next week. ☹️ Whoever is in change of DragonVale please fix this! Thanks!

So very sorry! I didn’t know an IG account was required to read replies. In the Updates thread, I posted all the relevant responses regarding DV and the new owners. We can further speculate about the future of the game (always good fun!) in that thread.

Yes! I would even PAY for more runic claims. Monte Rift and Eldritch Rift are not playing nice. I am only missing 7 rifts and I really want these two. I would rather breed them but since I have spent a lot of BEB trying and failing I would call it a day and claim them. 😜

I bought an additional runestone so I'd have an extra claim, it's only $4.99 for one. When you're on a runic cave, and you see the rune icon in the upper right corner, click on it. You'll get a message "Not Enough Runestones" and an option to go to the market to buy more. Click yes and you'll get a runestone to activate a cave for a week. I assume that since there's an option to buy 3 runestones, we could redeem more than one runestone per cave, but I didn't test that.

I definitely do no have an IG account, but can read all replies. Using a windows pc, reading it with Microsoft edge and with firefox. Maybe only some browsers let you read it.

I tried reading the Instagram replies on my iPad & iPhone. The link opens in Safari & I also tried it in Firefox. I can read some replies but when I click View All Comments it won’t expand. Even when I request the desktop site. Maybe it’s because I’m not using a PC, but I don’t own a PC. I haven’t tried it on my MacBook Pro but I think a lot of people use mobile because it’s much more convenient. That means people on mobile who don’t have an account can’t read all the replies. A lot of people have Insta so it’s not a big problem but judging from what people have said on other sites it does seem like there are some who didn’t read the replies. At any rate I didn’t really want to open an account if I didn’t have to.

The Wiki also has a new quest : Far-Off Travels - Fire and Air - 16 hrs - confirmed as Venture.
Spellmason is the only new Ornamental dragon missing a quest.
Thank you minyaz! Right now (maybe it’ll be added later), I don’t see Far-off Travels in the list of wiki quests. But it’s such a perfect quest title for Venture, how can it not be.

Managed to breed Thrasher in the runic breeding cave yesterday. I have one claim left, so naturally I claimed my Thrasher dragon and the egg is now incubating in the nursery.
Also, I just want to say that I love how you named yours Metallica, alderist. I think I'll do the same, or name it after a member of the band. 😊

Yes! Thrasher definitely seems to be an homage to the thrash metal of Metallica. I like your band member name idea a lot! Lars is an excellent dragon name. I’m surprised it’s not one of the automated dragon names in the game (after all, we have Mars and Larson, so surely Lars was an oversight). Hetfield also holds its own dragon-ness.

It’s been a good Event for me...I was lucky enough to breed all the Limiteds just not the Remi or the Venture (which weren’t Limited). I had plenty of Iceberries so I bought those 2 a day before I thought the Event was gonna end. Now I still have plenty of IceBerries so I should be able to buy almost all of the Pedestals that I need that they’re offering. I even bred 1 of the 5 Enhanced Dragons (whose breeding odds are ridiculous) I needed in BeB and 1 of the 6 Ghostlies I needed.
This Event was almost like the good ol’ days B4HAS (Before Hasbro).
