I agree, it’d be nice to not have the extra breeding fails that BEB brings, but I must say I’m very pleased it’s here because I stopped breeding in the Rift having obtained all the available dragons in trait form. I still need some limited dragons, and now they’re finally here.
This is the first time we’ll have a chance to breed a traited Eldritch. At last!
on the other hand, it's really nice to have all the extra unique outcomes for the runic breeding caves, lots more potential 100-iceberry-bonus breeds
I have received chests from friends. How do I give back?
The chests are automatically given to your friends when you send them gems. It is a feature on double (probably also triple) days. You do not give/receive a chest if you only exchange treats.
When I first sold extra decos I received in chests as prizes, they sold for cash. Today, I’m getting 50 berries for each deco I sell. Don’t know if that’s a change or a feature of double days, but if this is true in all parks, it’s a good time to sell your extra decos.

I need all the dragons that “have” to be transformed with feathers and stocking and all those other items. But to buy the items, for all the 11 or so dragons, it will cost me a gizzilion gems, which I absolutely do not have.

Harmony is IRON BLOSSOM + Ornamental element Festive is Any Plant, Earth and Cold Trepak, Lokilure need all ten decorations and Coal and Gift dragons to evolve.
Most event breeding combos are posted on the first page. I try to keep it up to date with market event dragon combos. Also check out this link for most breeding combos in the game.

Gosh darn, I got so excited when I saw the hint was available, I just assumed it was a new combo and not the evolving instructions 🙄

Yes! The ornamental evolve decorations were selling for a pittance (10,000 DC). I disappointingly stopped selling them in hopes BFS would fix this and let us earn Iceberries (thanks BFS!).

PSA Tusk and Shiver are currently not able to be bred.
Festive has been included with Harmony in the limited tier and is only available for the week. My guess is that Tusk and Shiver will make a similar appearance when the next two limited dragons are released.
I’m so pleased with this event that I purchased a rune to activate the one cave that was dark. Until reset in a few hours, all my caves are cooking, which is just lovely.
I have another question about the runic caves. Somehow, my mom got another rune stone. Does she need to choose an egg before she uses that rune stone, or will it just up the number of claims she has left?

To the best of my knowledge you don't need to select an egg before using a rune stone. However, using a rune stone doesn't increase the number of claims you have left. I'm pretty sure you get only one claim per cave, regardless of how many rune stones you use.

I have another question about the runic caves. Somehow, my mom got another rune stone. Does she need to choose an egg before she uses that rune stone, or will it just up the number of claims she has left?
Make sure your mom activates a cave that hasn't been activated already, then she will be able to claim an egg from that cave as well as the others that have been activated previously.
To check if a cave has been activated, click on the cave and see if there are any claims to be made. If not, then this cave hasn't been activated. This assumes that your mom hasn't made any claims from any caves yet.
The maximum number of claims that you will be able to make is five - one for each cave.
