One of my top DV goals is to unlock all the traits for all the dragons. So when I run out of new dragons to breed in the Rift, I work on traits by cloning a dragon that has a locked combo (since it can’t be a breeding fail). For example, I’ll breed Omen with Moon, and set Moon and the Rift alignment to the trait I need for Omen (and set Omen to a trait I need for some of the potential breeding fails). This way, I have a decent chance of obtaining Omen with the desired trait. I find this to be far more Etherium-effective than buying all the traits, especially since traits are unlocked for the breeding fails.
The Transfiguration Tower allows you to change traits. You don’t need to have all 10 traits to use it; whatever you’ve unlocked will be available. As crumble608 said, it doesn’t cost anything to switch traits. And of course, you can sell a traited dragon and its trait will remain available forever.

I was expecting something different from our final gift today, and by that I mean a choice of the new event dragons. I was planning on choosing Hedera since I already have just about all the others that I wanted from this event. But when I saw a list of all the butterfly dragons, I chose Morpho instead.
And to be honest, I like Morpho better than Hedera anyway. Its so beautiful, and it'll look great in my Omnitat that I've changed into a butterfly sanctuary, with Pixie in the middle of it all, adjusting its flowers and fluttering its wings. ❤ 🌸

I got impatient. The completionist that I am made me buy Woodvine & Clairvoyant. I got ‘em all again and the Dragonarium is burnin’ and blowing smoky Ghosts. I still have E$30K+ just in case there are any last minute surprises and 3K+ Gems. I’ll use whatever E$ I have left over for Peds & Decos. I haven’t spent any real 💰 in over 2 years BUT in appreciation to DECA for rescuing DV and for my Koala in this event, I’m gonna buy some Gems, provided we’re no longer being ‘punished’ for in-app purchases...can anyone confirm that? And what the heck, I just got my COVID19 Stimulus!
I appreciate all the help I’ve received from all of you Valers during this Event. Thank you.
Now if there was just some baseball to watch...😥

Hi all! Anyone have this problem...yesterday I opened the last gift from the event and was excited that it was an extra pick from the runic cave eggs. I went in and looked around but decided to wait on my pick. I went back in a few hours later and now there are only a few (10 or so) to choose from. They seem random but where are the rest???

I think you are mistaken. The gift was never a choice from the runic cave eggs. It was only a choice between the limited chrysalis dragons in the event. At least, that’s the only choice I ever had.

For those of you with some space in your Omnitats, you might want to try putting your Pixie dragon in there. Turns out this little critter has a swimming animation, which is really cute because it looks like it's peeking out of a bunch flowers as it drifts along in the water.

Don’t forget to use your confetti cave. For those of you with the weather turned off, the normal weather for this event is butterflies, but on double days the weather changes to confetti.

I purchased Runestones early in the event, and Tolzar’s Optical Oracle remained. We’ll see if it stays that way when the event concludes, but Deca has said Tolzar will not be removed from paying players’ games.

When is the last day we can claim our eggs from the runic caves? I am still trying for some, but I don't want to miss claiming what I want!
The pop-up messages in the game have the same confusing wording from The Traveling Dragon Faire. The last day of the event and the day the event market closes are the same date, and there’s no mention of the last day players can collect event currency and claim eggs. If it’s the same error as the Faire, the last day to collect Magic Eggs is Monday, 25 May at 11.00am MDT. And the event market closes on Wednesday, 27 May at 11.00am MDT.
It’s unfortunate the last day to collect Magic Eggs is not mentioned in-game because for this event it’s especially important since that’s also the last day players can claim eggs from the Runic Breeding Caves. I’ll ask Deca for confirmation.
UPDATE: there has been no confirmation on the Spring Shellebration end dates. Sorry about that. I asked twice through the Game Reps channel, and didn’t receive an answer, so I figured they were sorting it out. Then today, a player sent me an email she received from Deca’s support that cryptically says they can’t disclose the last day of the event.
Maybe they’re extending the event, maybe it’s something else, but the event FAQ page that’s linked provides no dates so far. It only says, 'we'll let you know [when] the event is about to come to an end'. The message in-game still states event currency will be converted on 27 May, so it sounds like we have until 25 May, 11.00am MDT to claim eggs from the Runic Breeding Caves. However, since nothing is confirmed, if you’re absolutely sure about which eggs you want, it may be best to just claim them now.

It was really strange. I need a Tulip in my main park, so decided to bring my rift version down to try and clone it. I opened up a spot in a Hidden habitat, so it would have a spot for it. I clicked to move it, and it went into a dark habitat that I had missed filling all the way when moving some dragons. Then when I went to breed using it, I filtered on dark to see if it would show up, but it didn’t. I had to filter for hidden dragons to find it. It is still sitting in that dark habitat, except when in the breeding cave.
It got weirder tonight. I tried the same thing in my baby park, for the same reason, I still need a tulip. This time I decided to empty a spot in a dark habitat, to see what would happen. The tulip refused to go into it, preferring my hibernation cave instead. I had to open a spot in my hidden habitat for it. I will admit that in my baby park, it is a small dark habitat, whereas in my main park it is a giant dark reward habitat. Anyway, just weird.

It could be because the dark habitat is the reward one. For reward light and dark habitats, they also have the rift element and their respective element. That's why your Tulip dragon can sit inside.
