PSA - don’t forget you get one more Runic Breeding cave with the doubles day (everyone has at least three now). I have my color turned off so I can find eggs easier and forgot until this evening (it’s hard to notice the actives cave with color off). I even used Kairos earlier and then noticed, 🤦🏻♀️.
So I want to make sure I understand. In the runic caves you want to breed to get more eggs if different types to get more magic eggs, but if all the eggs you create through breeding here during the whole event, you only chose 1 to keep, correct? And then obviously any you purchase with magic eggs in the Eggsquisite Market. Is that correct? Thanks.

Yes, correct. The advantage of the runic breeding caves is that they have shorter breeding times (and of course you have more slots to breed) You can try to get the one dragon you desperately need with shorter times or you try to get as many different types as possible for the bonus of new types. Or you make a mix out of both. You can only keep 1 dragon per activated cave. The dragons you breed in the different caves go in one same history. So if you have activated 3 caves (one normal from event, one with rune stone and one from double days) and you have bred 3 dragons that you want to keep , but all in the same cave, that's no problem. You can claim the dragons in the history from each cave.

Are the special visitors only part of the Shellebration? I’ve had a wizard walking around that gives DC - just wondering if I should be looking for him after the event.

AND you can claim the "same" egg more than once. So if you have bred one violetta in a runic cave and don't already have one in your park, the first one will be plain violetta. Then if you want, you can go to a different cave and claim a twin violetta, even though you only bred one to begin with. And then if you want, you can go to a third cave and claim a twin rift violetta. But you won't be offered a rift twin violetta unless you already have the plain twin, and you won't be offered the plain twin unless you already have the plain one.
I wish they had named the monolith dragons (snowflake ones too), I hate trying to figure out which one is which ( besides the colors), especially when you get an egg and have no idea which one it is.

Additional Runestones can only be purchased.
Kaleni is the event mascot and roams your park once a day. He’ll give you 25 Magic Eggs on regular days.
Elminster appears in your park every day if you’ve summoned Tiamat and Bahamut. He’ll offer either 20,000 DC or a gem, similar to the elder flag bearers. He’s not linked to an event.

Since it doesn’t appear there will be a Triple Magic Egg Day, Double Magic Egg Day inspired me to sell around 50 Rift mystery eggs I had stowed away in my Gifts and to buy some extra mini-game plays for evolve decorations. Ended up accumulating enough Magic Eggs to purchase a new dragon and noticed some friends had Clairvoyant in the co-op. But there was no Woodvine representation.
Woodvine’s adorable nature will literally grow on you. It can convert into a tree. A TREE! Right now, Woodvine is levelled up to 20 and is slowly climbing and covering the co-op in a leafy freshness.
If you’d like to clone Woodvine for your park and we’re not friends already, message me and I’ll add you.
Fun fact: koalas like woodvine even more than eucalyptus.
G’luck!

I also ran a bunch of extra magic games to see how many unique decorations I could pull out. I ended up with 30 of the 40 decorations, and found a total of 72 decorations (42 were duplicates). The last 20 or so were all duplicates, I should have stopped when I hit 30 of 40 and saved the gems.
I believe these are the rare decorations based on the numbers I saw and the numbers in game: Ivy - Black, Blue, Green Roses - Black, White, Yellow Shell - Green, Purple, White Idol - Teal, White, Yellow
I did manage to get several of these, they're just around 1/5 the rarity of the most common ones.
Every Easter, I decorate/paint DragonVale eggs as a tradition, instead of the usual pastel fare.
This year, it didn’t seem prudent to colour eggs since hoarding and stress-baking have resulted in skyrocketing prices and egg shortages for many. (Now that I think about it, there has been a sharp increase in the number of baked goods posted on social media by people who never bake or post food pics.) So, this is a photo of my DragonVale eggs from last year. From left to right: Cerberus, Aubergine, Vortex, Spirit.
Wishing everyone well, and hoping your day was kind and warm. Stay safe, stay home, and stick with the dragons.

So, o knowledgeable crumble608 , can you please clarify this for me, re runic caves::: you can’t use them for rift breeds like pearlescent, right? Thanks! I just waste runic caves EVERY time cos I dunno how best to use ‘em; I just toss in a couple of 🌈 types repeatedly 😂

I put a Number on their name when I Hatched each one eg. Mono3, Mono4 etc.

I don't know exactly what can be bred in the runic caves. someone earlier mentionned that he heard of someone who bred the event dragons in the runic caves. I believe that you can't breed rift only dragons in the caves because its not the rift. so no Pearlescent, no Rigel, no Yolk.... I don't think that you can breed Galaxies either. My aims in DV are 1. get one of every dragon type 2. get two of every dragon type (except for gem, crystalline and galaxy types because they can't breed together) 3. get one of every dragon in the rift (except for gem, crystalline and galaxy)
I have all dragons except the new event dragons. So I'm using the coop to try to clone Woodvine or Clearvoyant. The other two (Minchi and Glyph) are evolution dragons,so they can't be cloned with only one parent being the wanted dragon. besides this I'm trying to catch as much magic eggs as possible. That's all I could do for now to hit my first aim.
But I can use the runic caves to get ahead with my second aim. there are currently 19 dragons from which I need a second. So I'm breeding them in the runic caves (for example Sweetheart + Stoneheart) to try to single-parent-clone them. because this involves a lot of elements, there are a lot of different hybrid fails which get me the bonus magic eggs.
If there will be new breedable event dragons (limiteds) I will change the breeding combos in the runic caves to try for those.
If I would have already gotten two of every dragons I would look which dragons I miss in the rift and if maybe out of these missing dragons there would also be ones of which I already have a twin. I would try to clone these dragons in the runic caves because the claimed dragon then would be a rift version (normal -> twin -> rift) so you see: it depends on your aims how to use the runic caves.
If you don't want to take the time to work out a strategy it is a good alternative to just put two Rainbows in the runic caves to get a variety of outcomes.

As far as I know Woodvine and Clearvoyant are "normal" limited dragons while Minchi and Glyph are evolution dragons. All 4 are not breedable right now. But you can clone Woodvine or Clearvoyant in the coop if your friend already has one. This doesn't work for Minchi and Glyph though because they are evolution dragons and you always need two same parents to breed these.

Curious if anyone has managed to clone Woodvine or Clairvoyant? If you did, would you be so kind to post the dragon you used? I’ve been trying for Clairvoyant in co-op for about 10 times using ghostly cold. No luck so far.

I cloned a Clairvoyant using a friend’s Clairvoyant and my Elder Ghostly Cold. First try, even!

You can clone Woodvine. It’s elements are earth, plant, air. So any dragon with at least one of those three elements (like elder Earth, Arbor, etc) can result in Woodvine if you breed it with Woodvine. Only evolve dragons (and Ghostly and Gemstone/Crystaline dragons) cannot be cloned; both parents must be the target dragon.

The cloning percent change for a Clairvoyant in the social cave with a single Clairvoyant parent is 1%. If you attempted 10 tries, you'd have a 9.6% chance of getting one. That means 90.4% of the people would not, so you're in good company!
It takes roughly 70 attempts to have a 50-50 shot of getting one. Even after 200 tries, 13% of the players won't have one yet.

Probably a silly question but I'm going to ask it anyway. Can you just buy Glyph and Michi without collecting decorations? I so hate the whole collection process.
