In my opinion, new dragon costs in this event are a bit out of line considering the limited amount of event currency we can collect each day.
Definitely. These prices are more in line with the events that you could get lots of currency everyday. 16,000 is a ridiculously high amount considering how little currency you can get in a day with this event. I really feel for newer players that do not even have the rift yet.
Let’s face it, the goal of a gaming company is to make money and still keep their gamers happy. There’s a fine balance between what the game gives aways (Event Cash) and what the player will spend in Real$. In the last Event, I think they gave away way too much Event$. In this Event, I think they’re not letting us earn enough. They should have small routines in the game code to keep track of an individual’s and game-wide grand total of all player earnings and purchases and that way, they could keep a close but positive balance between their income and expenses. If they’re not doing that then they’re only guessing at the cost to earnings ratio. Las Vegas odds for Black Jack favor ‘the house’, but by only about 51.5% to 48.5% (if you use ‘Basic Black Jack Strategy’) although they have increased their own house odds a little at the $5.00 & $2.00 tables by not paying 3:2 on a Black Jack (that really POed me!). Those are the odds I think DV should be using but I don’t think they are, at least not in this Event.
I cloned a Glimmerwing in the epic breeding island !!!!

I agree, I also wonder if they need to gather age demographics for this game; my sense is it’s played by lots of adults, hence we enjoy downtime and watching our dragons, decorating islands, and are able to manage the ‘gotta have it now’ urge..which means their current lack of downtime between events is likely to alienate more mature players, who don’t need constant adrenaline rushes..and who like to BREED our dragons... following the hasbro path didn’t work, but they’re already veering close to it, IMO... just a thought...
Any hints on what we might be wanting to breed in the rift (I mean what dragons we might need for future limited event breeding) if we don't have a glimmerwing?

Personally I've always found the prices a bit high, especially for someone like me who struggles to earn event currency. Been checking my park every four to five hours and reaching the limit cap from habitats almost daily, and I don't even have enough for one of the 13,000 dragons yet. Close, but not quite.
It would be nice if they made four the average amount of currency we collect on normal days instead of two. That would make things easier. Although it's not like they have to worry that they're giving away prizes by raising the amount of event currency that can be earned. Because I agree with Kiwichris, this game is probably played by adults more than it is played by children. And adults have busy lives, with work and families. So there are times when some of us can't play every day, meaning that a few extra flowers isn't going to hurt. And because we have work and bills, not everyone can afford to spend real money on prizes.

Just got a 15hr breeding time w/my Elder Plant & adlerist Oaris! 🤩 You just made this Event a success for me, like you did in the last Event. If I can just breed one Event Dragon I can earn enough Event$ to buy the others. Thank you ‘adly’!
Lucky, lucky you. I haven't managed to breed any of the event dragons - plenty of swamps and seaweeds though. Currently sitting out a 37 hour breed (Leaf). I hope, for adlerist sake it isn't a twin.
Delicia is the first dragon in DV history to require a Galaxy dragon in its breeding pair without being a Galaxy dragon!
The Galaxy dragons have finally emerged from the Cooperative Breeding Cave. Now, breed Glimmerwing in the Epic, Enchanted, and Rift breeding locations with great Delicia purpose!
Breeding combo: Glimmerwing + dream element
Breeding/incubation time: 30 hours
Status: Limited tier
Delicia is deliciously fed to 20 and delightfully lingering in the co-op.
BREEDING TIP: To fulfil the dream element and reduce the number of breeding fails, it appears Delirum (fire, earth, air), Nightmare (water, air, dark), and Elysium (earth, lightning, air, light) are the top dream dragons, only adding two elements when bred with Glimmerwing (earth, lightning, water, metal).
CLONING TIP: Delicia contains all 10 elements. As if that wasn’t discouraging enough, the odds of cloning in the co-op (e.g., your random dragon + a friend’s Delicia) is slightly worse than using the breeding combo (your Glimmerwing + a friend’s dream element dragon).
Whether intentional or not, Deca continues to bend the breeding rules with more firsts. Galactic koala madness to all!
Thanks adlerist for the breeding information on Delicia and the tip on which dream dragons are the best to use, so very helpful.
It seems that Deca are really mixing things up with their breeding combos - or making things up as they go along. There are so many long fails with this combo and there is only seven days to breed it.

I’m sure Deca keeps track of in-app purchases and players’ ages because BFS did this. Data is gold (just ask FB 😄), so games treasure this info. However, nobody except Deca knows how they use it.
Based on the DV subreddit, which has over 16,000 members, I’ve always had the impression that DV players, especially newer players are around 12-18. But regardless of age, Deca received a lot of responses to the short time between events from both long-time and newer players. Deca said they are planning on having more downtime in the future, but the DV Rep did not know how soon this would occur, or how often.
I hope it’s soon and often. Deca desperately needs to embrace mini-events between regular events, like a two-week long BEB, Twin Weekend, Shimmering Solstice, etc.

This issue has been brought up to Deca, but with a slightly different perspective from newer players. They feel the prices are high for returning dragons, especially since there are so many. A lot of new players farm Plant dragons, even for events that have more ways to earn currency, like donation cards, because they don’t have the dragons or the Rift to make the cards yield a lot of event currency. So Plant dragons are their only option to earn for every event, until their dragon collection grows.
For long-time players, I agree with what you and oomagooma25 are saying. While it’s nice to have no currency cap, without a major mechanism to earn the bulk of our Flowers (donation cards, Runic Breeding Caves, etc), it’s almost like there is a built-in cap as we’re limited in our ability to earn (it’s oddly levelled the playing field and now we have to resort to Plant dragons too, which seem like a discouraging step back — what’s the point, if you still have to rely on an old Plant hack after eight years). I don’t know if the earning/price change is by design to entice in-app purchases or unintentional, but I will pass on your, oomagooma25’s, grandpakenny’s, Kiwichris’s, and DragonMoonX’s feedback — thank you!

I’ve asked Deca to add the Galaxy Egg of Mystery to the Rift store, but I do not know if they will do this.
Please email Deca and request the Galaxy mystery egg be added to the Rift market. The more players who ask, the better chance it’ll happen. Thanks!
While Deca are thinking about adding the Galaxy mystery egg to the Rift market, perhaps they could also think about making the Galaxy Daily Reward dragon a rift dragon of one that is owned, but not a rift version. Rifted Galaxy dragons are extremely difficult to get and getting duplicate rift Galaxy dragons as a daily reward is rather disheartening, especially when they are the same rifted dragon over and over - Eridanian seems to be the current favourite.
The DragonVale Facebook Group has already discovered the quest for Delicia!

If the event dragons aren't breedable like Hano then maybe add a way to get a rifted one too? I'd spend event currency on it even when I was able to clone with a friend for the regular one.

I guess there isn't much reason why we shouldn't be able to spend gems to get a rifted version? It still shouldn't be easy, though.

Keep at it! Unlike previous events where I had miserable luck trying to clone the non-limited dragons, I have managed to breed Hanno and Grove in one park, and now (thanks to Adlerist) all three in the other park, and without excessive trouble. Hanno was easiest for me, then Grove. Without a Glimmerwing in the rift I expect to have to buy Delicia, but really, that's not too bad. My park koalas seem to be on the road to recovery, I only hope the same for those scorched ones in Australia.

Ok... I’m doing the little happy-dance. I just confirmed that I bred a Delicia on my Epic Breeding Island using Glmmerwing x Nightmare. So it IS possible to breed it.

Later on, when tbe event dragons return they will be breedable (at least it has been like this up to now). So you then can try to breed for them in the rift. But the list of dragons to breed for in the rift is getting longer and longer...

I cloned a Glimmerwing in the epic breeding island !!!!
What's strange is nothing has changed in the data for breeding or cloning Glimmerwing. There is no breeding definition, and cloning has values for social breeding (20 and 1) and values of 0 for all other caves. If we can now breed the dragon outside of social, Deca has now changed something in their internal code that overrides the file definitions. I would also expect to get one cloned in the rift, but have not had that luck yet.
I don't have a Rift Glimmerwing, so have purchased some Epic Mystery Eggs hoping I might get lucky with one. I have received some nice unowned twins - Scourge, Stella and Quantum. I don't have rift versions of these, so the next event with Runic caves, these will be first in the breeding caves. I have also had multiple Epic fails of dragons that I already own. But no Rift Glimmerwing - yet.
Thank you for the Hanno dragon, oomagooma25 ! Hopefully it'll be a twin so we can both have one. 🌸🌴🐨
Welcome. Glad you were able to breed one!
