Which brings me to the question of setting up for the next comp. Are we okay in paying out multiple winners for these limited dragons? I was thinking of making the next comp for the first weekly limited, that generally gets released during the second week of an event, but that would only give us 7 days to try for it.
Or would we prefer a comp for permanent epics, that we will eventually get?
Please have your say.
I definitely do not like competitions for permanent epics. In the past, sometimes competitions would go on forever, as someone tried non-stop to get a permanent dragon. Occasionally this would cause them not to get a limited dragon, because without dropping out of the competition (and who wants to be a quitter, especially when you have a shot of winning) you couldn’t use all your breeding spots for the limited. It always took some of the fun out of the competition for me when this happened. Maybe with the introduction of the co-op and rift, this isn’t as much of a problem as it was with only 2 breeding spots, but I personally, would probably not enter a competition for a non-limited epic. I actually had this discussion with Pixie years ago.

I’m sorry I’m so behind on my pledges. We been on fire evacuation warnings & watches & haven’t been paying much attention to anything else. Our power is scheduled to be off for a couple of days (our utility’s method of trying not to spark another horrendous fire), so I won’t be able to access the Internet & pay my pledges. I will eventually get to everyone, I promise.
I have sent a gem to one of kaylou ’s parks and now, one to red .
I was wondering, could 4 of us losers each take one of the winners and pay them off in place of mishkasmom . It seems to me that she has enough to worry about, without having to worry about pledges. It could also hopefully be an encouragement to her in this difficult time. If that would work, I’ll pay off Red, from my baby park.
Edit: I will add that I had this thought when I noticed that miskasmom has not joined the next competition. She might not be able to anyway with all that is going on, but if her pledges had already been paid, it might make it easier for her if she wants to join. So a modified gem shower, instead of sending gems to her, we send gems for her. So, I guess I am wanting to know if this would qualify for her paying the pledge.

Ok mishkasmom already sent a gem to cynmed for the twin. Hmm I will pay 2 gems for kaylou to RED. I think she, too, has other things to do now that are nuch more important
dragon list (last dragon : Gatren) DV friend id: Crumble#7733 friend link coop friends always welcome, but all my gems are spoken for
I got a 24 hour timer in coop with lisgie and did t think anything of it at the time, just went off to bed. This morning I going like, wait.... it was a 24 timer ! So I just checked the change icon and low and behold!.....A WOVEN!!!
Finally! I’ve never been so thrilled to see a target, like I am with this one.
I would like to thank all those who supported me in achieving this great,....um....achievement! I would like to dedicate this to all my fellow competitors who offered their encouragement, koalas, chocolate, and most of all whine!🍷🍷🍷🍷
I was reading old posts and saw this one. Did this Woven make you a Winner or a Loser. I know you feel like a winner either way, because you got the dragon, but for payouts, I wanted to make sure. Glad the dark chocolate truffles helped entice the Woven into your park.

OK - I've got to ask about non-limited/permanent epics and why that would be a bad competition rulilind. I have only been playing since March, so I'm not sure I understand your point of view. Not questioning it at all, but I'm obviously missing a vital piece of information. And yes, the COVID-19 lockdown led me to DV, so it's a love/hate situation for me.

crumble608 - I agree with helping pay off kaylou's gems too, but I'm not sure who is still owed (if anyone). I thought maybe LynnMarie, but then I remembered that last second Woven! Please let me know if any more pledges need to be covered for mishkasmom or kaylou.

In the past, there were only 2 breeding spots, the cave and the island, when a competition was for a permanent dragon, like Double Rainbow or Daydream, the contestants were committed to breeding for it in one of the spots until they got it. So, when a limited came out, they only had one spot to try for it, unless they dropped out of the competition. Sometimes limited dragons only came out for a few days, like Moonstruck which was only available for 3 or 4 days. If you only had one breeding spot to try for it, you were at a definite disadvantage. I spent over 700 gem and got one at the last minute using both breeding spots. Since a permanent dragon can be gotten at any time, I don’t want to be locked into breeding for it in one spot when I need that spot for a limited. Several times I would visit someone’s park who was still trying for a permanent competition dragon, and see that they hadn’t gotten the limited yet, with time running out. As I said, maybe the addition of the co-op and the rift negate that, but it does limit you unless you drop out. In the past competitions could go on for weeks. Also, for the events when lots of old dragons are offered, but only for 4-6 weeks, newer players or returning players like myself have so many dragons to try for, a permanent epic competition hinders them in getting the dragons available right then. Everyone will try for the limited dragons that come out, because they want to get them before they disappear, but like I said, with a permanent, there is no hurry in getting it, and some of them become common fails later on, like Double Rainbow. I hope that explains it. Fletch_smf had asked for people’s opinion, and since I had had this conversation before with a former moderator, I thought I would express my thoughts. I am sure other people feel differently.

Oh yes, the dark chocolate was just the thing! Who knew, that koalas love truffles with a good whine. 🤷🏻♀️🍷🍫🐨😆
Since I got the Woven, in co-op, after the comp closed, it made me a loser as well. I had already received a gem or two from some of the others by then. 😊

But I'm happy to go with that. Most votes was for the next 1 week limited, so the majority of voters seem happy with that as well. I think that means we'll have 2 competitions this event, for the first limited and the third, both for a week.

Thank you for clarifying when you got the dragon. I had already paid you as a winner and was glad to do so. But, if you were owed any gems by mishkasmom, I didn’t want you to be left out.

It’s all good! I actually don’t know if I’ve been “paid” all the gems, just assuming that I have and collected them as they came 😊. If someone is unable to play/pay, it’s fine with me. I like the fun of being a part of the competition! Not in it for the gems lol.

Have paid 1 gem of 3 to both of Kaylou’s parks and 2 gems to Red.
I guess you missed our post earlier, we decided to give you a modified gem shower, instead of sending gems to you, we sent them for you. Because you had so much going on, some of us losers decided to send gems to our winners on behalf of you and Kaylou. You had the fires and Kaylou had the death of someone close. We decided it was a way to support you in difficult times. So you really don’t owe anyone anything. And since our winners are newer players, the extra gems should be a big help to them. Hope things are getting better for you..

Hey you. I’ve paid up the other 2 to Kaylou, so your debt to her is paid.
And Red has been paid as well. :-)
I am pretty sure I’ve been way overpaid! Is there anyone left that I may help with?
