If trying for Ignis (before you have your own) in coop, using a fire + air dragon is better than using just a fire or air elder because of the cloning and breeding chance since Ignis is a Hidden dragon.
How much of a better chance like what’s the percentage. I just bred Ignis in the cooperative with Fire elder. The elder dragons gives a boost to get rare and Epic dragons too so wouldn’t that make them at least equal to or maybe better than using a fire/air dragon? I didn’t have any luck with hidden bolt and atramento but I got it with Dark elder. I’d be interested in knowing the percent for using a fire/air and the percent using a Fire or Air elder. Thank you for your help!

Yes, but if it is like Frons then it doesn't contribute the hidden element to the breeding mix, which throws you back to only cloning. And since the parents themselves have a higher chance to be the result, I would take the one with the shortest breeding time
You can clone with Plant or Metal elder or a plant + metal dragon like Iron Blossom. The new event dragons don’t contribute the hidden element.
This is a really interesting point! I hadn’t even thought about the hidden element. When I bred ignis I only got fire and air fails so it is definitely like frons. I’ve had luck with elder dragons and the new ones in the event. It could be better to use a fire/air but I don’t know why Ignis being a Hidden dragon makes it better to use a fire/air dragon.

samiam and crumble608, you both brought up some important topics!
No one except Backflip and Deca knows the percentage increase for breeding with higher level dragons and elders. But there is an increase because it’s stated in-game.
The purpose of breed with a fire/air dragon is it fulfils more elements in Ignis’ breeding hint, which could bump the breeding chances over an elder. It is not due to Ignis being a Hidden dragon. The only contribution the Hidden element provides is making Ignis an epic.
But as you both stated, the contributing elements from Ignis only includes fire and air. So yes, there may not be any benefit to using a fire/air dragon over an elder, especially since we don’t know the percentage increase for elders.

So many useless rifted galaxy eggs, though, through mystery -.-
The one time you don't want them...
Sell them on a doubles day and get the pinecones for them. You don’t get event currency if you hatch them, but you do if you sell them without hatching.
Thank you for the advice. I collect them specifically though, duplicates and all.
Camp Lakeside is definitely the first one to attempt. It gives a bigger Pine Cone reward, it needs just 100,000 points to unlock stage 5, and it's goals is half points earning, and half a couple of dragon breeds. Camp Maple will probably be next with multiple dragon breeds of the same type, and just 200,000 points needed to reach the top of the Tower. Camp Canteen might be more your liking, if you have acquired the skills to complete 2 dragon breed types with 1 egg, but 350,000 is required to reach the top, so you will be repeating a few levels, unless you strike it lucky with a twin epic.

Thank you so much for taking the time and answering my question! I didn’t get why the Hidden element made a fire/air dragon better than an elder. I thought maybe it was b/c it’s an Epic and using more elements helps but I hadn’t heard that theory before. What you said makes sense I get it now. I’ll probably keep using elders but if I don’t get the new dragon I’ll switch to a fire/air and see if it helps.

That's how I was able to breed Atramento. I just kept dumping my Lightning elder in co-op until the results yielded a success.
And now I've got my Air elder in co-op to try for Ignis. Though I'll admit I did stop and wonder if a fire/air dragon would be better, but I eventually settled on Air elder because of the improved breeding odds.
We share our physical lives with those in spirit. For life, like love, never dies. Love knows no limits, not even death.
I did breed 2 Frons (no rifted) but the other 3 Hidden dragons remain very well Hidden. Still trying to find (breed them) in coop. Meanwhile, enjoying the ambiance in the Whine Lounge.

I went for a very different strategy, one I hope I don’t regret. I am breeding fire/air dragon against one of three new event dragons so that I can try for ignis and those dragons at the same time. That adds in rainbow and double rainbow fails, but allows me to try for two needed dragons at once. I am trying for ignis in a simpler way in other breeding spots to alleviate those extra fails. I got three cumulus in a row in the rift, and then a fourth later on. I thought I must be doing something wrong and was relieved to get a river dragon on my fourth try, thus proving other results were possible.

If Ignis only provides Fire + Air elements when breeding with it, Doesn’t that mean you’re better off breeding another Hidden dragon with Ignis? Because then you have the chance of breeding + the chance of cloning?

PRO TIP: if you don’t have a regular and/or traited Valor dragon, you might want to breed one (hint, hint, clue, wink...)

I love, I want. Ignis is beautiful, like a flaming fox/turkey/dragon hybrid. Must have. 😍❤❤❤
🎼I like it, l ❤️ it, I want some more of it! I tried, so hard, I can’t rise above it! Don’t know what it is about that little dragon’s lovin’. But I like it, I ❤️ it, I want some more of it.

I think he is asking if breeding my cumulus with your ignis would be the best way to go? I would be breeding a hidden dragon (cumulus) against a fire/air dragon (ignis), plus I am using ignis as one of the parents. Thus, I have a cloning chance and a breeding chance of getting the dragon. I never thought of that, but that does seem like a fantastic idea.

Yeah this.
It doesn't matter how many more regular hybrids you can breed, because they just fill up the gaps after the epics have taken their piece of the pie. If you start adding more epics, then you have a problem with longer fails, but it shouldn't alter the %. I'm not sure what the numbers are, but if I have a 3% chance of breeding an Ignis and a 3% chance of cloning an Ignis, then breeding an Ignis with a dragon with a Hidden trait should give me a 6% chance of breeding/cloning an Ignis. Which has got to be better then what ever boost I get from using a Level 20 dragon in trying to just Clone Ignis.

Or am I thinking about this wrong ... Does Ignis add the Hidden element for breeding, so I already have a chance of Breeding it, as well as cloning it? Because if that's the case, then breeding it with a Fire or Air dragon should give me the chance to breed it, and clone it, with the smallest number of fails.
Thank you, thank you wapatango for the twin Frons. I nearly fell off my chair when I saw it!
