🍷🍷🍷+🧀 No R Zombie = No R Macabre = No R Wendigo... (yet!..🐨)
ladyj 🐨🐨🐨🐨🐨🐨🐨🐨🐨🐨🐨🐨🐨🐨🐨🐨🐨🐨🐨 it’s been proven that 🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎 or 🍏🍏🍏🍏🍏🍏🍏🍏🍏🍏🍏🍏🍏🍏🍏🍏🍏🍏🍏🍏🍏🍏 are the best apples for the Rifty dragons you need!! Help me contest buddies- I can’t remember exactly.
I think it was🍏🍏🍏🍏🍏🍏🍏🍏🍏🍏🍏🍏🍏🍏🍏.
Would make sense, green apples taste best in fondue cheese and go great with wine. They are also good fall apples for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere. They make great carmel apples and apple pies.
Okay. But no doubt there are good epic dragons to use that have the right elements? Because I rarely find a limited that has the elements I need, and I often get just 10 candy. Maybe it’s because I’m missing the limiteds I need.
Using the perfect dragon for Gaia or Kairos quests will give you two chests. You can use a level 1 dragon and still receive 2 chests.
The challenge in the events uses your dragon and a friend's dragon, so the chances of you both having the 'perfect' dragon to challenge with is highly unlikely. You are 'challenging' each other, not going on a quest together.
The challenges give rewards based on the levels of dragons used. The higher the dragon level, the better the rewards. I only match one element with a friend's level 20 dragon and then use one of my level 20 rainbow type dragon (rainbow, double rainbow, leap year, party etc) - which has all elements - and receive maximum event currency every time.
Fletch_smf if your epic dragons are only at level 10, try matching your rainbow type dragon with a friend's elder dragon that matches one of the elements in the challenge.
Wait ... am I trying to choose a friends challenge dragon with the elements, or without? I figured if I challenge a dragon with no required elements, with my dragon that has some of the required elements, I would have the best chance of winning.

I think you are over complicating or over thinking this. 🙂. You need to match the elements you’ve been given. For example, if the elements are Plant, Fire, Earth and Cold, select your highest level rainbow type (ten elements) and see if one of your friends has an elder Plant, Fire, Earth or Cold and use that - otherwise a friend’s level 20 dragon with one of the elements.
Try it and see how you go - you can’t do any worse than getting ten event currency.
Gems and treats are en route to your Vale. Thank you so very much, Prisca! Simply over the moon with this striking twin that changes with the moon, cheers!

Does Wendigo have two different appearances? (Night / day) The child in the teaser looks very different from the button in the breeding hints.
I think it just lost the baby fat. 🙃
Keen eye though!
crumble608, yes, Wendigo has two looks! If it’s nighttime, or the Twilight Tower is set to a night theme, it emerges like this:
However, during the day, Wendigo appears like this:
The animation is also different for both versions. So twice the love for Wendigo!
But I really, really adore you baby fat comment, FluffyRae! 😄❤️😄

Dang, I need to breed the dragon I need to breed the dragon I need to breed the *limited* dragon, in the rift. Oh well, might as well get to it...

Edit - Well that was fast, rifted Zombie on second try. Edit the 2nd - ... Why the heck is my rifted Spectre not in the rift? Please enjoy this spooky hold muzak while we wait...
I should be so lucky..😢...so far, all the Zombies I bred in the rift are non traited! Seems like all other outcomes were rifted, except for the Zombie..😣
You are not alone. Got all excited - then wondered why when I tried to move it from my hibernation cave to a habitat it said my rift gate was full. Then the penny dropped :o\

I was so happy when I saw it, it's my very first event dragon and a twin to boot. I am over the moon.
Every day is a good day to feed dragons. Prisca#4020
But with my friends dragon, do I want to choose 1 with the elements, or 1 without?
So, I never read it as a competition, but a cooperative. I thought the goal was to make sure you had as many of the elements asked for covered as you could between the two dragons. Sometimes it gets upset and gives you less if you have too many, but that is more the outlier.
I always choose a dragon from the current event for my friends dragon that has at least one of the asked for elements. Level doesn’t seem to matter. If there is a dragon from the event that has more than one element asked for available, I choose that. I then choose a rainbow or leap year or something from my side, but never the same type twice in a row. If you keep using the same dragon/type on your side it also gets mad.
I think the key is to choose a dragon from the current event on your friends side. But that’s just my thoughts and what I do.

I've been using it as cooperative, but I'm going to try the rainbow strategy.
Success so far with neighbour dragon being 1) matching element elder (one time) 2) non-matching element elder (one time)
Victim of choice: lvl. 15 rainbow. I'm not sure what to call it, but it gets me much better results in this sample size.
If the theory is true, the best thing a rival/coop dragon can contribute is level, not elements. (Before this, I've had all elements sometimes, but didn't get full candy anyway by using low level rift dragons.) I'll keep picking elders of the wrong element to see if it does anything. MinyaZ's strategy is a real game changer either way, though.

I have been trying to breed Macabre in the Rift and Wendigo elsewhere, to no avail. So I'm headed off to the Whine Lounge with an assortment of goodies and some vintage wine, to share with anyone who cares to join me

sun as lisgie mentioned, the game doesn't like it if you use the same dragon for every challenge. Use other rainbow type dragons with ten elements as well - Aurora, Leap Year etc. Other ten element dragons may also work (Dream, Muse, Surprise), but I only use Rainbow types - there are plenty of them to choose from.
To clarify, an elder dragon is a Level 21, Primary Dragon (Plant, Fire, Earth etc). Use that with your rainbow type if it is available, otherwise, as you suggested, use a level 20 dragon with one or more matching elements to the challenge.

We need some fresh goodies and another bottle of wine in the Whine Lounge. I'll clean up the remnants of the last gathering - most of us are still here feeling sorry for ourselves.
I am also trying for a Rift Macabre and Wendigo in all other caves, but no luck.
The koalas seem to be in very short supply this event.

I need to join in. I would really like to BREED Wendigo not have to buy it. I have the currency but I enjoy the game more when efforts of breeding are rewarded. It is really tough though when all breed chances are set sooooo low nowadays. 2% is way too low with how many dragons we have now.

Count me in for sure!! I finally got a zombie dragon today and thankfully it was rifted. Fingers crossed that I can actually get a rifted Macabre in the next 3 days. I absolutely love breeding in the rift, but I have a hard time spending 5,000 E$ or more per try.

I totally agree Amos. I too want to be able to breed Wendigo. This is after all a breeding game, not Dragonmart

After my 🍷🍷 and the tons of NZ special delivery 🍏🍏 (as recommended), I finally was able to breed a R Zombie. Now, onward for the R Macabre, and one step closer to the R Wendigo...🐨🐨🐨🐨🐨🐨
