Comments/feedback for Deca: This is the first time in a while where I've tried to breed one of the event dragons multiple times. This dragon is absolutely the cutest thing - might be because of the splash screen with all those cute Ikatako's in various poses. **Dear DECA - Wish we had the life preserver ring as a decoration!**

I have returned! Since I had a blast rating Ahoy, I figured I would do the rest of the dragons in the event as well! Why not start with the other fan-creation-turned-official dragon? Of course, I'm referring to Ikatako, the modern day Submerged dragon!
Let's get to it, shall we?
1. Rate Ikatako's animation quality:5/5
The Ikatako dragon may not have as many quirky or unique animations as the Ahoy dragon, but that doesn't mean it doesn't stand out! Firstly, I have to bring up the barrel animation. In addition to being a playful nod towards the original Submerged dragon design, it's a fun little detail on its own. My only criticism is the fact that the dragon gets inside the barrel tail first before popping out. I think it would've been more realistic if the dragon had instead dove in head first before adjusting its position inside to poke its head out. The way it exits the barrel is fine though. I know this detail isn't super important, but sometimes the little things can make a big difference.
The rest of the Ikatako dragon's animations are nice as well. It moves about how I would expect it to if it were a real world animal. The rearing animation is nice, and I like how the dragon's face tentacles flare out when it roars and opens its mouth. Speaking of those tentacles, a special shout out to the animation team for not making them all one piece of the puppet! I can tell they are separate parts of the model capable of moving somewhat independently of each other, and that pleases me immensely. As stated before, it's the little things that can bring out the best in a dragon. Overall, good job.
2. Please rate Ikatako's size:5/5
As I mentioned when rating the Ahoy dragon, there has been a non-stop cry from the community for bigger dragons in the game, and Deca Games has delivered at last with this event. Unlike the Ahoy dragon, however, the Ikatako dragon's large size actually works out for it! Seeing as it is meant to be a sea monster dragon, it would be a crime to make it tiny. Its size is perfect, and it doesn't look out of place when living with other dragons. Great work!
3. Rate Ikatako's price (9,250 Doubloons):3/5
The high price of new event dragons has been a rather tough subject to address. I understand the reasoning for having new things cost more, but I still think Deca Games should reevaluate the cost of new event dragons, especially when put side-to-side against returning dragons. While the Ikatako dragon is the cheapest member of the event debuting trio, 9,250 doubloons is still rather pricey for a rare-class dragon. The Chromacorn dragon--a dragon that is unanimously considered one of the rarest and most valuable dragons in the game--is cheaper than the Ikatako dragon. Even with the fact that the Ikatako dragon is new, it's still a rather uncanny difference, wouldn't you agree? I would dial it back a bit, especially if this dragon returns in a future event.
4. How well does Ikatako fit the theme of the event?:5/5
What's a pirate adventure without the typical giant squid monster arriving to cause chaos? The Ikatako dragon fits the bill perfectly! I could definitely see this dragon rising from the depths in front of a ship to raid it of any dragon treats there may be stowed away inside, especially given that the dragon grows up to be quite large. I wonder if sailors in the Vale have to take precautionary measures to protect themselves from Ikatako attacks...
5. Rate the attention to detail in Ikatako's design:5/5
What can I say? The Ikatako dragon checks all of the boxes that it needed to check off in order to meet expectations! First of all, the name of the dragon itself is very charming. Not only does it have a nice ring to it, but it goes to show how taking inspiration from other languages can make for some fun names. I mean, "squid-octopus" is a silly name for a dragon, but it works! It is a perfect description of the dragon in terms of both personality and visual appearance. It sure is a "squid-octopus" dragon, and it comes with other bonus details like wet seaweed draped on its back and barnacles scattered across its body.
Additionally, while some have expressed disappointment in the Ikatako dragon's simplicity when compared to the original Submerged dragon design, I personally believe the version we got was designed quite well. For instance, I think the smooth head of the Ikatako dragon actually works out better than the original version, even if the omitted head tentacles(?) were cool. It gives the head more of an octopus-like feel to it. Furthermore, when it comes to DragonVale designs, sometimes less is more. There have been issues in the past regarding overly detailed dragons, so it's good to see Deca Games take the more cartoony and simple route. Even so, the final version we received still preserves all of the important aspects of the original Submerged dragon design. The Ikatako dragon's design, though toned down, remains a faithful adaptation.
6. How much do you like Ikatako?:5/5
Gee, DragonVale, how come Deca Games lets you have two fanmade dragons in one event???
Jokes aside, the Ikatako dragon is already charming as is, but the fact that it was inspired by a fan creation? That's so incredible! I just can't believe I was able to witness such an event in my active playtime of the game! Even though I personally prefer the Ahoy dragon, I still really like the Ikatako dragon and the story behind it. What a wonderful creature, Ikatako.
7. Additional comments and feedback
From what I can tell based on community feedback, the Submerged dragon was one of the most popular submissions from the Ahoy Community Contest, both during the contest itself and afterwards when the winners were announced. While my heart belongs to the Lookout and Mermaid dragons--in addition to my own design, of course--I can see why the Submerged dragon was so well-received. It's a very creative design with great attention to detail in regards to the theme of the contest, and it definitely deserves its spot in the game. It makes me hopeful for more fan dragons in DragonVale's future!
Aaand done! Whew, so I don't quite know if this reply was longer than my previous one for Ahoy, but here it is! Expect these mini-essays to be a reoccurring trend from me, haha!
1. Animation: 5/5 I love the barrel and how Ikatako jumps in and out of it. 😄
2. Size (if you don’t own Ikatako, please check a friend’s park): 5/5
3. Price (9,250 Doubloons): 5/5
4. How well does Ikatako fit the theme: 5/5 Perfectly fits the ocean! And I can see pirates running into them all the time.
5. Design details: 3/5 A lot of the details were removed from the original drawing.
6. How much do you like Ikatako? 5/5
7. Comments/feedback for Deca (optional) I like the original artwork much more. I get that DECA wanted to simplify the design but too much detail was removed. I also like the original baby version more. It’s a lot cuter and has a more “submerged” sea creature look.
Ikatako 1. 5 2. 4, To me, the adult feels kind of big. But after I changed it to the baby version, it fits so well in the Paradise habitat. 3. 5 4. 4 5. 5 6. 5 7. I love the barrel and the baby version🤗🤗
Ikatako Please rate on a scale of 1 to 5. 1 = worst, 5 = best. 1. 5 The barrel dive, the roaring, love it. At one point I think I saw it spreading an ink blot while in habitat, but it must have been a neighbor dragon’s breath or something. Would have been a great animation on Ikatako though. (animation quality) 2. 5 (size) 3. 4.5 (price) 4. 5 (fit with event theme) 5. 5 (attention to detail design) 6. 5 (how much do you like) 7. It’s appropriatly ugly, I kinda love this tickle monster. (opt. additional feedback)
1.) Animation: 5 (Adorable as a baby, organic as an adult. Very well done.)
2.) Size: 5 (I think the size is perfect.)
3.) Price: 5 (Price is perfect.)
4.) Theme Representation: 5 (I think the idea of a kraken fits well with pirates, especially considering the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.)
5.) Design Details: 4 (The baby form is undoubtedly the cutest of all the dragons in the event. I love the little guy. Only problem is with the adult. I think its body is fine, but its head almost looks grotesque. Might just be me tho.)
6.) Likeability: 4 (I instantly fell in love with the baby form. Not too savvy with the adult form.)

1. Animation: 5 2. Size: 3 bit big 3. Price: 5 4. Theme: 5 5. Design details: 5 6. How much do you like Ikatako?: 5 7. Comments/feedback: I like it but sticking to the original design would be much cooler. This though does remind of the Ood from the new Dr Who.
5/5 The use of the barrel is well done! But the Race Track animation looks like Ikatako is sliding instead of running.
2. Ikatako’s size
5/5
3. Price (9,250 Doubloons)
5/5
4. How well does Ikatako fit the theme
5/5 Everyone knows it’s not a deep sea pirate event without a squid/octopus dragon.
5. Design details
4/5 Where’s the anchor and chains and ship mast, Deca? Too many details of the Submerged Dragon were omitted.
6. How much do you like Ikatako?
5/5 I’m fascinated with the mysterious giant squid, so Ikatako was always going to tick all the boxes.
7. Comments/feedback for Deca (optional)
Stringless Worm’s Submerged Dragon was a perfect blend of a deep sea creature and a pirate-themed dragon. The original baby version is simply adorable, and sadly was significantly changed. I do appreciate that the unique, unmistakable cephalopod eyes were retained in the adult version of Ikatako. Also like the squid/octopus name.

6. How much do you like Ikatako? 5/5 One of my faves if the event!!
7. Comments/feedback for Deca (optional) I like this dragon so much! I really liked the Submerged dragon’s head, the octopus head isn’t too bad but the original is better. Both baby versions are very cute tho!

1. 3 2. 5 3. 5 4. 5 5. 5 6. 4 7. shape of the baby form's head throws me off but it gets better as an adult. It gives off Cthulhu vibes which is great overall. I like the barrel but the quality of it doesn't look right in baby form and being in a barrel doesn't seem right in adult form.
