I've never taken much notice of the alignment in the rift. However, after breeding two light traited Heavy Metals I wondered what would happen if I changed the rift alignment. I changed it to plant and immediately bred a plant traited one. I followed this up by changing first to cold and then lightening and also metal and now have one of each of those happily playing together in my large Melody habitat.
Rather a greedy question, but is it possible to get air, water or earth rifted Heavy Metal.
My other thought is this. If I bred those Heavy Metal so quickly after changing the alignment, would it help to breed the initial Heavy Metal if the alignment was one of its elements?

And here I am struggling to even breed one heavy metal
I do know how painful that is 'vitte'. I did mention that I feel greedy breeding so many Heavy Metal dragons just to get a collection of them all differently attired flying over the melody habitats. Playing for ten years means that I have collected several of just about all of the dragons, rifted, twins etc. Sometimes it's easy to become a bit bored with the routine of collecting cash when you've accumulated billions and when you discover something that hadn't previously occurred to you it makes the game exciting once again.
I should have realised, but for years I've bred dragons in the rift and just stuffed them into hibernation dungeon. I've always loved having habits with several of my favourite dragons and fondly remember early on I loved my island with fifteen fog dragons flying around. Now I'm busy going back to my habits with multiples of the same dragons and as long as they're rifted I can change their clothes and put them back in fresh attire.
Sorry for the lengthy post, but this latest discovery has breathed new life into my game.

You may already know this, but once you’ve bred a traited version of a dragon in the Rift, you can purchase any other traits you want from the Transfiguration Tower for 10,000 Etherium. So if you’re having trouble unlocking a trait through breeding, or have other dragons you want to breed, that’s a nifty option.

If you don’t own Dracabra, there’s some great news.
This was reported by the FB rep, not to change Punk’s breeding hint, but to suggest future combos aren’t unintentionally repeated.
Imagine the look on their faces, when the loving couple try for a Dracabra baby and suddenly the egg hatches and out pops the Punk dragon.
Then two weeks later they end up on the Jerry Springer show, with mommy Lycan swearing that she hasn't been with any other dragons in the breeding cave, and daddy Decay wanting tests to prove this is his child, because no one has ever seen a Punk dragon from this combination before so they're all thoroughly confused.
maury povich voice over…”Decay!……You are the father!!”

Punk dragon - very cool. Love the plaid wings. But I think I’m missing a reference. Is there significance to Punk’s price? 16475 c’corns. Any punk rock fans able to tell me if the number is part of a lyric, or an address, or some other reference? It’s a strange amount so it must mean something.

Not sure if I knew this or just forgot about it. Now I'm wondering if there are preferred traits for the Decay and Lycan dragons asI try for the Punk in the rift?

for reference, I got two Punk dragons in the rift first thing today, tries 4 and 5. Decay is Cold traited at level 19 and Lycan is Light traited at level 18. Both Punks are Cold traited and my Rift Alignment is at Metal. It seems to me they got their traits from the parent and not the alignment.
Hmm, the Quote tab is acting odd 🙃

Dragons bred in the Rift can acquire a trait from either parents or the alignment.
The trait has no affect or benefit on the breeding percentages or outcomes. It’s purely for aesthetics.
cecilia, if by 'preferred traits' you mean traits that look better on Decay and Lycan, you can see how each trait appears on the dragon in my park. While visiting, click on the Dragonarium button, select the dragon and click the 'Trait' button to scroll through each trait. I have all 10 traits unlocked for Decay and Lycan.
PS, I edited both your posts, LynnMarie and cecilia, so the quotes display correctly.

Thank goodness that Punk has an actually fairly reasonable breeding combo rather than requiring a dragon that needs 10,000+ candies spent on it just to be evolved.
Punk seems to have decided to rock out on everybody’s park except mine. Even my lowest level alt’s rift has the perfect stage to rock on...
Rift doesn’t want to give me anything great lately. Let’s hope Punk sets its musical performance in my park next or I’ll relinquish.

I felt like Deca realized the mistake on repeating locked combos and changes it in the files without changing it in-game!
It can certainly feel like more than bad luck at times, but I did breed two Punks in the Rift a couple hours ago, so no change to the breeding combo. G’luck, I hope you get 'Punk’d' soon! 🐨🎵🐨

I finally got Punk outside the rift today after some gem speeding each day. Still no sign of him in the rift. I sometimes wonder if there's a hidden luck stat on all our parks and mine is in the negatives. It's especially discouraging when I see the same friends with rift versions of the dragon up in social within the first day, week after week. I want their luck stat.

I have wondered the same thing. My two parks take turns with the ability to breed the event dragons for the entire event. Then swap for the next event.
Punk doesn't want to visit my park either. Maybe he thinks the Heavy Metal dragon is too "intimidating" to want to open for him. 😉
O.M.G. Withing five seconds of liking your post, I go back to the rift, breed twice, and BAM! Traited Punk!!! KOALAS TO YOU, AND YOU, AND YOU! Apples, wine, cheese, those amazing crackers but gluten free, cause Celiac.... ALL the things! Here's to rampaging koalas at your parks!

The tune must have turned to be suited as Punk finally decided to show in the Co-op cave. Thanks DragonMoonX for sharing Decay. If it was a twin too, you’ll get a surprise too! It’s not likely, however.
But of course Punk also showed up in the rift, untraited. I’m kinda grumpy still from the fail breeding on Punk in the few days but I’ll turn up the beats for a traited Punk.🍷🍷 It most likely will fall into the same roots as Enfis, but let’s hope not and traited Punk will rock on. (I hate the plaid wings.)
