The Rift habitat upgrades have not changed, and the prices for the new habitats are pretty much in line. It’s best to upgrade the habitats. It’s inexpensive and you can house more dragons so you’ll earn more. Overall, players should be collecting more Etherium with each visit, so the investment in the new and upgraded habitats will be absorbed.
Did I miss something? How do we collect more E unless we add habitats? My habitats still produce the same and it is going to take a while to get to 210,000 to even buy 1 more habitat. Are the new costly EOMs guaranteed to get a form of a dragon we don’t have? The last one I bought had a water rift in it. I could stomach fails and useless EOM better before the increase. My mountain just got impossible to climb. Actually makes me less inclined to try or spend rl$ on the game to get there to blur fire (was hard before, now impossible). This “extravaganza” needs to be renamed “inflation hits Dragonvale too”. I feel really bad for anyone who just got a new device for playing Dragonvale. Oh wait, that’s me.
Yes, that’s correct, you collect more Etherium by adding and upgrading the new habitats. The last Rift habitat, #55, cost 200,000 Etherium, so the price of 210,000 Etherium for habitat #56 is in line. It was never going to be lower than 200,000.
No, the mystery egg mechanics have not changed. You can still receive duplicates.
I agree, as I stated earlier, the new mystery egg caps are outrageously high, even with the income from the new habitats. We have yet to hear back from Deca.

The 56th habitat at 210,000 plus upgrades would take someone 3 years to break Etherium even if only checking in the rift once a day… that’s as bad as the gem habitats when they were hit with the huge increase. Something in a mobile game shouldn’t take 3 years to break even. And with each habitat bought add on 10,000 for 50 more max collections. Mystery eggs should have increased to 14,000-15,000, not doubled in price. Before they cost almost 12,000 which was almost one max habitat collection. The huge increase is not on par with the amounts gained from the habitats. I wouldn’t even need to buy mystery eggs if they would release BEB so I could get traited dragons of event dragons not breedable, and make a rift coop cave. How else are we going to complete twin rifts? These should have never been introduced without a way to get them other than mystery eggs.

Just one more whine (we need a wine lounge thread, then we all could vent there and you wouldn’t have to read it), as others have said, would have been nice to have the half price habitat in the rift to make it a true “extravaganza”. Oh and why weren’t the giant moon and sun habitats in the last event? They obviously were originally planned there since the giant moon habitat is on the splash screen for the event. Did they not want us to spend event currency to get them? They wanted us to spend gems? Not cool. (I guess that is 2 whines).
I can verify the habitat #57 only costs another 10k E at a cost of 220k E. Used a hoarded, errr.. I mean collected wish.

I don’t understand why the Giant Moon and Sun habitats weren’t in the event. At the very least, Giant Moon, since is was a nighttime Star Fall event. Deca usually wants players to spend event currency over gems, because players are more likely to make an in-app purchase during the event for EC than for gems after an event. It’s very odd. I’ll ask.
I will post the new habitat and Miasmic Ether prices next…

If they go up from 210 to 400k, that's over 6 million e just in base habitat costs. Assuming 7 million e as the total...
That is 1750 × 4000. Assuming 3 rounds of collections a day, it takes 583 days of collecting 3x a day to make the ethereum back you spend.
With my current activity patterns, that might be something like 1250 days. 3 1/2 years
They're 220k for 56, 10k more each until 64. Then it goes 20k each until it maxes at 480k.
I believe #56 is 210,000. The first habitat I purchased was 210,000. The last habitat shows the price of 500,000.

Can I visit the whine bar too? I’m sad about the placement of the new island. It crushes my dreams for a couple more oversized habitats to nestle in on either side of the 2 we have. I agree the huge Sun and Moon habitats should have been with the last event! I had lots of Stardust left (until I used it all on Solarflare pedestals) that I could have spent on Sun or Moon upgrades.

The location of the 34th Island has also been brought up to Deca. It’s terribly sad. I don’t like it either.

Wow Ellie! Did you actually have all that E or did DECA tell you?
This was my Etherium total when the Rift Expansion started.
I purchased habitats 56-71 and have over 7,500,000 left. I took a break to upgrade them, and will purchase the last four habitats. But a player on Facebook already bought them and verified the prices.

The good news is that they can move islands if needed, as we've seen with the gemstone island during events. If they ever add a 3rd and 4th gargantuan isle, they can consider just moving 34 elsewhere and placing them in the 'correct' spot.
From July 29 (maybe): “The next time we get a new island (or 2 or 3), will someone please remind me to leave one of them open and undecorated so I have someplace to move habitats too while I’m rearranging another island. I am completely out of room!”
This is your official reminder to leave the new island empty so you will have a place to store spare parts while decorating. I’m sure you will make it look just as stunning as the rest of your park.
Is there any reason to think the dragon silhouetted in the banner image is something new?
Yeah, probably.

Woohoo, three new islands on their way and a couple of billion DC before I can buy the fourth (I only buy during extravaganzas and empty my piggybank each time)
I know there’s a lot of chat on “breaking even” on the new Rift habitats and those prices are eye watering, but the key for me is being able to put more dragons out on display. The whole point of in game currency is to spend it to get the park you want, right?
