WHAT?! You’re not allowed to shock the daylight out of us!
I’m so glad your back! Even if it’s for a flash. I had the same untraited trouble with Weaver, I think it was. But eventually it came around with a trait. If we can’t breed traited dragons in the Vale, then it stands to reason, we shouldn’t be able to breed untraited dragons in the Rift. It’s untraited nonsense!
I hope you well, that is all I wish. ❤️
please tell deca this! I 1000% agree! That’s a lot of agreeing! 😄
Just to provide another point of view, I personally really like the untraited possibilities in the Rift. Being a "newer" player who has never had fire in the dragonarium, I do not really care about getting a rifted collection of all dragons, and therefore rely on the Rift as another breeding location for getting the untraited dragons I need. Someday, when I have all the untraited (and all the twins), I suppose I will begin to care more about traited.

I think what I wrote is being taken a little out of context, as the post I was replying to is no longer visible. Arkynos attempted to breed a traited Glitz 150 times in the Rift, only to end up with an untraited Glitz on the last attempt. Players who have all the dragons, typically move on to other goals like all twins and all traited dragons. And we have all had experiences like Arkynos’ so we fully understand the pain. That’s why members responded so positively.
I know many new players do not like traits because they find it too expensive to level up the dragon. When you haven’t developed a large amount of DC, you’re constantly running out of it, and treats to level up dragons is a huge problem. Many players on Reddit are new, and over the years this has been mentioned a lot. I think players understand it’s suppose to be challenging, but when the topic comes up they do complain about it.
My full Rift concept is to *allow players to add or remove a trait when a dragon is bred at the Rift Breeding Cave*. I am taking the needs of new and veteran players into consideration. In my reply to Arkynos, it wouldn’t make sense for me to write up an explanation about a Rift feature, since that wasn’t the topic of the discussion.
Perusing the DV subreddit and starting a new park every so often to see how new players are experiencing the game and the challenges they face is very enlightening. It is interesting how the needs of new and long-time players can be very diverse, not just with the Rift, but other aspects of the game. And I can see how the balance of satisfying both could be a difficult goal to accomplish for a developer.

Ok, I totally agree with everything you said. I didn't mean to downplay Arkynos' situation, I understand how that could be incredibly frustrating. I only meant to provide another opinion. Apologies if anything was taken the wrong way

Sorry to hear that NinjaKiwi.. Before buying any more Toy Chests, wait until closer to the end of the event, you may get lucky and be the one you need in a toy chest from Sandakloz or one of the presents scattered through the park.
🐨🐨🐨🐨🐨🐨🐨🐨
You were 100% right to advise me to wait, I got a pink feather from a hiding gift today! Only two left (one feather to get Lokilure and a purple flutter fruit to satisfy my completionism)
I don’t know if the odds are weighted but the the last couple of days I have received BOTH of the missing evolve decorations from clicking gifts in the park (today I’m assuming I accidentally tapped a gift while scrolling around because one chest popped up without warning). Note I also have four duplicates from these chests so a missing decoration is not guaranteed, but I feel like their frequency and accuracy (for missing ones) has increased over the last week? Doesn’t really matter because now I have a complete collection! 100 decorations all collected and soon I’ll have my Lokilures! Only 36(!) dragons to go until my Dragonarium breathes fire again!

Currently breeding for whatever twins I can possibly get my hands on
What? Who's this? It's been ten thousand years... Okay maybe that's an exaggeration. It's just been two. Ish.
Wow, the forum looks different! Sorry for not dropping in more often, things have been... difficult, as I'm sure entirely too many people can relate to.
Thanks to everyone for all the twins I've been sent! I've been pretty close to Blue Fire for a lot of the time I've been away, and have actually hit it a couple of times. I think about three quarters of the twins I've checked off the checklist have been sent to me by forum folk (forumers? forumites?) so many many thanks, literally couldn't have done it without y'all.
Anyway, on topic, I come with the tale of woe that has been my attempts to breed a Rift Glitz. I was in a good position to start, with traited Yanghis and Jadice actually ready (this breeding chain gets worse every year! I can hardly imagine being new to the game and seeing it, it must look nigh insurmountable). I had a feeling on day two after my normal attempts (through 5k) that it was going to be one of those dragons and decided to burn my Etherium stash on it. I begin spending my way through the 20k breeds. Still no Glitz, day after day. I barely register the newly breedable bunch of returning event dragons, I'll be getting several of them from the Runestone Caves anyway, it's fine, I have bigger fish to fry. Today, the last day of availability. I throw everything I have at it. I traverse new depths of Etherium spending I'd never reached before. 150 total attempts this week. On attempt 150, oh, that egg! Finally! A Glitz!
No Rift Trait. You have to laugh. Or... at least make a forum post about it. 😇
ARKYNOS!!!
I almost fell over when I saw your name!

I really like the idea of players getting to pick whether they want a trait or not! Like maybe we get a ticket every week and we can use it to add a trait or get rid of it. 😃
But I really really love this GIF of the polar bear falling off the ball 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
It’s like Yule rolling off his present ball, but it’s a million times funnier 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣

Woohoo! So pleased that you have completed your decoration collection. You can put the iceberries saved towards some of the other dragons you are missing. Don't forget that you can sell your duplicate decorations for 50 iceberries - every little bit helps.

I don’t believe there’s been any changes to the chests — it’s just your luck shining through!

Excellent points adlerist and it must be a developer's headache trying to please all levels of players - there are always some that aren't going to be happy with some aspect of the game. And what a great idea to be able to select a traited or non-traited version of a dragon when it is bred in the Rift. That would help reduce the level of frustration of the trait/non-trait breeding in the rift.
No apology needed TriwizardChamp. It is always good to get other players perspective and remind veteran players that the rift can be challenging when it is first obtained and those players would prefer a non-traited version of their dragon. And while I would love all rift breeds to be traited, I also understand your point of view.

Does the name fit the dragon after all because I believe it does not want to grace its presence in my park. And that 3.9 chance is really a zero chance.
Maybe my park is in the wrong side of the equator?
Getting real tired of other epic fails and lodestone. 🐨🐨🐨
Adlerist, I am in Australia and I have had this problem on both my iPads, on and off over the past couple of weeks.
Edit - this was meant to reply to the above post.
Thank you so much for the confirmation! I’ll report this. Also, I’m going to move all the ad bug posts to the Bugs and Glitches thread so they’re all in one place.

If I'm going to use a runic breeding cave 2 times, does it matter if I claim my dragon before I use it the second time or if I use it the second time and then claim my dragon? I know we get 1 claim per cave, just want to be sure I can activate it again if I claim the dragon first.

You can activate the cave at any time, even if you’ve made a claim from it.

please tell deca this!
Except when you are like me and have been relying on your rifted Apocalypse and Winter to breed a rifted Snowpocalypse the ENTIRE event to no avail- which means I cannot try and breed Zero in the rift 😩; HOWEVER, it is nice to know I could get a non-rifted version of Zero in the rift when I've been unsuccessful so far in the Vale.
That said, I JUST started Snowpocalypse and Permafrost in a Runic Cave and got a 7 hour timer, which the only option with that timer is a ZERO 😍 (I sure hope I'm correct on this). I tried the egg trick, and it's not showing a Zero, but I'm guessing it was because it is in a Runic cave? 🤷♀️

Congratulations RED that should be a Zero. You are correct, the icon trick does not work on dragons bred in the Runic Cave.
I've been trying to breed a traited Neyvee and finally managed to bred one yesterday - without a trait! So frustrating.
But, I have also been trying for a traited Twinkle and have managed to breed a traited Twinkle. It was a dragon I was going to use once of my Runic Cave claims for, so I can now use the claim on another dragon.

Congratulations on getting Zero! Once you claim the egg, it’ll show in the icons.
I was able to get Zero in my parks. One thing I’ve noticed since Snowpocalypse is always used in combos is that it’s super easy to clone. I kept getting Snowpocalypse fails in the Rift. I’m glad I wasn’t trying for Zero in the Vale only.
