The winter island theme is so gorgeous. I bought it early so friends can come check it out. It is to the far left. The polar bears are ice skating so be sure to watch for a few minutes.

I’ve done this before when the Monolith Egg of Mystery first came out, and a friend of mine sold all his twin and twin Rift Galaxy dragons so he can get a regular Rift from the special Galaxy Mystery Eggs, since you can’t breed them. He’ll have to get the twin and twin Rift Galaxy dragons again but that’s not too bad. It’s just one of the problems with not being able to pick the type of dragon or egg you want after you have the regular and twin version. I think this is a good idea tho, and no I don’t think it’s crazy since this is the only way to get the twin egg. 🥚👍

HOW TO ENSURE TWINS ARE DELIVERED TO YOUR MAIN PARK WHEN CO-OP BREEDING WITH A SECONDARY PARK ON TWIN WEEKEND


I did a number of Cooperative Cave breeds to test the issue of twins failing to appear in a park while breeding in the co-op with an secondary park. Since speed breeding is a large part of the problem, but is widely relied upon during Twin Weekend, I sped up all the breeds in these tests. This is what I discovered...


USING ONE DEVICE

If your secondary park is on the same device as your main park, and you’re trying to breed twins for the main park — you’re in luck. There doesn’t appear to be any issues with the delivery of twins.

I sped up 26 co-op breeds in a secondary account that’s on the same device as my main park.

• After 4-6 co-op breeds, I checked my main account to ensure the twins were delivered. They were all in my Gifts.

• Remember, there is a limit of 10 twins that can be waiting since your last park visit, so don’t leave your park unchecked for too long.

• To be extra cautious, if I received the breeding time for a twin I needed, I switched to my main park to empty the queue for twins, went back to the secondary park and sped-up the breed, then returned to the main park to ensure the twin was delivered.

• From the 26 co-op breeds performed, I received all 26 twins in my main account.


USING TWO DEVICES

If you have a secondary park on a device that’s different from your main park’s device, and you’re trying to breed twins for the main account, it’s much trickier to consistently deliver the twins to your main park.

I sped up 33 breeds on an old Android device that has a secondary park, which is not associated or linked to my main park (main park is on an iPad Pro).

Three Different Methods

1. If I kept my main park open and bred a twin on the Android, my main account would receive the pop-up message for the twin (and the twin in my Gifts), about 2-3 minutes after completing the breed. After breeding about 5 consecutive twins, the pop-up stopped showing and twins are no longer received, or very rarely. Only force closing the app, then restarting the game will allow the delivery of twins to resume. Also, if I closed the main park before the twin pop-up appeared, the twin was lost. And if I continued to speed breed in the secondary before the pop-up showed, the twin was lost.

2. If I switched to an alt account on my iPad Pro, and sped up a twin breed on the Android, then switched back to my main park on the iPad Pro, I had the same results as above: received the pop-up message of the twin (this time it only took 30 seconds - 1 minute to appear). After repeating the above steps approximately 5 times, switching between parks on the iPad Pro after each twin is bred, twins will no longer be delivered to the main park, or very sporadically, requiring a force close of the app.

3. If I force closed the game on my iPad Pro, sped up a twin breed on the Android, then reopened the main park, sometimes I’d receive the pop-up message and the twin, sometimes not. Note: with the twin push notification now disabled on iOS, it’s impossible to know exactly how long you must wait before opening the game; therefore, until the bug is fixed, this method has become extremely unreliable. (Update: iOS push notifications for twins has been restored, so this could be a reliable method.)


CONCLUSION

• TWO DEVICES: After breeding approximately 5 twins from your secondary park, even though you’ve been opening your main park after each twin to clear the twins in-waiting, your main account will stop receiving twins. So after the fourth or fifth twin, force close the app and restart the game to help ensure twins will continue to arrive.

• ONE DEVICE: This is the preferred method due to less difficulty delivering twins and no disappointment from not receiving one.

• DOES THIS MEAN I’M MISSING A LOT OF TWINS FROM FRIENDS DURING OR OUTSIDE OF TWIN WEEKEND? If your friends are speed breeding most or all of their co-op breeds with your dragon, rapidly and in-a-row, during Twin Weekend, you’re probably missing some of the twins they bred. However, if they’re not speed breeding, it’s likely you’ll receive those twins — provided you don’t have more than 10 waiting for you between sessions — but it’s no guarantee. When Twin Weekend is not running, it’s much less likely you’ll be missing any twins, since the probability of twins eliminates the speed breeding and non-delivery issue. But again, it’s no guarantee.

Thanks so much for posting this! I’ve been busy this weekend so I was planning on speed breeding a bunch of twins today. I knew there was a bug when doing this but I couldn’t remember how to get around it so I was going to ask you lol. I’m gonna bookmark your post!

Bred a traited Yule proving Snowball works and my twin weekend haul consists of mainly past event-only dragons that can’t be bred normally:
Zilla, Davinese, Ahoy, Zipzap, Fluffles, and Canna. (And two primary twins I don’t have

(Though with tons of gems sacrificed on my alts and gem fodder. And most of my gems were wasted trying to clone Remiscene and the gamery for evo decos...)



Now, I’m trying to clone Wedingo and I kept getting 10 hours, Obsidian and Coal. And got my mains co-op cave clogged with a Shiver fail trying to clone Fluffles with one parent. At least the recipient doesn’t have a Shiver in the first place, so it’s a good thing?

Is this a punishment for me turning greedy? Oops. 😅🍷😅🍷

I’m in the Southern Hemisphere, so may be wrong, but shouldn’t the Seasonal Island be in Winter mode, rather than still in Autumn?

Amos, just be aware that it could take a while for the traited-twin Jet to come around again. For the Daily Rewards, if you own all the dragons in the collection, you’ll receive a random twin or traited twin. The game does not recognise that you’re missing a twin or a traited twin. I asked Backflip about this back in the day, and they confirmed.

But I agree with samiam. It’s not a crazy idea if you need the twin. There’s no other way.

PSA: Update for Lunis, Solis, and the Runic Breeding Caves


Lunis and Solis are currently unavailable. Deca has confirmed this is due to last year’s Lunis and Solis bug at the RBCs. Initially, it sounded like successfully cloning them at the RBCs would crash the game. But it now appears successfully breeding Lunis and Solis will cause the crash. Therefore, until the bug is fixed, they will remain unavailable. If the bug is not fixed during the event, Lunis and Solis will be available after the event concludes.

If you’re keeping a checklist of dragons to breed at the RBCs, please be sure to cross of Lunis and Solis. They cannot be bred or cloned at the RBCs.

Go to the Egg History and click on ‘Claims left’. That will show you all the dragons you have bred and what you can claim. If you scroll to your Snowflake, it will show you a picture of the dragon.  You don’t have to claim the dragon, there is a X in the corner.  

Works with Monolith too. 😀

I was wowed by the detail on Chaiko. It’s very ornate and heavily inspired by Asian art. But you’re right! Chaiko does look like the Japanese carp windsocks that are flown during Children’s Day.

No, I do not believe Snowflake 7 can be cloned or bred.

Deca said they’ll try to give us an update on all the requests for the event. There are a lot of requests, with the clonability of Snowflake 7 at the top. We do not know if Deca will change Snowflake 7 so it can be cloned or not. As soon as I hear any news, I’ll be sure to let everyone know.

So very thankful to DECA for TWIN weekend. I managed to get twins of all my missing dragons (except Snowflake 7) and 50+ of my missing twin pedestals. Now just missing twin pedestal for Angler, Combustion, Terracotta, and Gourd (and Snowflake 7).

Clutch 22 hour fails before twin weekend ends. Will they be Wedingo or a trash Arctic fakeout? I don’t want to speed up gems to be met with disappointment...

Also, I put my Woolen with my alt's Neyvee and got it first try! I wish it wasn’t after twin weekend. I guess it can’t be helped.
