PonkiPong is an entertaining dragon. And I like it even better after getting one on the first try in the co-op cave using my Eldritch dragon and adlerist’s PonkiPong. This is unprecedented luck for me. I have also gotten a traited version in the Rift.
A dragon does seem more likeable if it is easily bred - even if it is just luck. I bred a normal PonkiPong in the rift, so now just need some luck to also breed a traited version. 😊

I also bred a normal PonkiPong in the Rift (my third overall). In my experience the Rift is either feast or famine. I am enjoying the feast phase at the moment. The Co-op cave is the same way. My daughter tried for a Swiftgrace for over two months before finally getting one and she gave up on Eldritch after a similar drought of several months. Then she had a run of koala and successfully bred several dragons. She is now trying for Eldritch again which is why it’s in my Co-op cave now.
I can’t pass on this dragon because I am compelled to keep up with all of them, but Ponkipong is not my cup of tea either! Almost disturbing in it’s way-too-cartoonish image and animation. I think I need to go look at Nightbloom to recover…
The big one with the pink stars on his knees isn't bad. I like the simple designs too, because they remind me of the way BFS made their dragons. If it was the big one by itself, I'd probably try for it. But the whole belly bounce thing reminds me of a video game I played as a kid called Chuck Rock. Long story short, the last level of the game has the player in a dinosaur graveyard. You have to bounce on the belly of a dead, bloated dinosaur in order to reach higher platforms. And dragons are similar to dinosaurs in terms of looks. So when I saw the belly bouncing thing, I was like nope.
A big belly with a target on it might be an interesting project for a tattoo artist. Or not!
Today, in the Rift, I was going for a traited Serenity dragon using Coal and Cold Rift, but bred a normal Triple Rainbow among others. Do I understand correctly that traits and Rift alignment contribute additional elements to a breeding pair? Coal and Cold Rift contribute only three of the four required elements necessary for a Triple Rainbow. I can’t find anything in the forum’s breeding information about traits and Rift alignment contributing a missing element during Rift breeding, though I may have missed it. Thanks!

The Rift in Rift dragons counts as an element, so that was the fourth element that allowed you to breed a Triple Rainbow. Congratulations on the Triple Rainbow, if you needed one!

Thanks for the confirmation about Rift breeding! The Rift has always been a bit of an afterthought for me. I thought traits were like enhancements in the Vale and that the Transfiguration Tower was the Rift equivalent to the Alter of Altercation. So much for paying attention.
I am a bit in awe of completionists who acquire normal, twin, and rifted variants of every dragon and pedestal. If I tried to do that I would be babbling incoherently in a padded cell. I am content to have my Dragonarium breathe red fire and cough up ghosts.

I agree that it's amazing that some people are able to get normal, twin and rifted versions of all of the dragons. I don't see that ever happening for me. I pretty much have the following priorities:
Normal - Gotta have 'em all, even if I don't particularly like 'em. I figure that the guests who come to my park deserve to see whatever dragons they want to see!
Rifted - I'm trying to get them all, but it feels kind of pointless since there are way more Rift dragons than there are habitats in the Rift to display them. I'm currently trying to get to the point where my Rift habitats are filled with unique Epic Rift dragons, as they maximize E earning potential. After that happens, I'm not sure if I'll keep it up. What's the point if they just end up living in hibernation?
Twins - I keep twins if I get them, but to get them all? I'm just not going there. The whole idea of twins is sort of interesting, but more or less superfluous. If twins had some utility that normal dragons didn't, I might be tempted. However, it just seems to be much too time consuming.
Just my 2¢. And yes, Long Live Red Fire and Ghost Breath!

You’re correct, traits are a type of enhancement, purely for aesthetics; they are not elements and do not add to the breeding combo. But the Rift itself is considered an element, in the same way that Surface and other epics are elements. On a traited dragon’s profile card, the Rift is shown as an element.
I’ll add this info to the Rift section on the Help Desk. Cheers!

It may sound like a lofty dream to collect all twins or all traited dragons, but your collection can grow quickly. A lot of new players can’t imagine having red fire.
But perhaps I’m not a good example for all the dragons, all the twins, and all the traited dragons, because clearly I am pretty nuts.

So... We never know what dragons DECA are putting in the "last event day reward chest", but I sincerely hope that they have chosen to include Singularity this time round! I think many players would benefit from this, especially seeing as galaxy mystery eggs have not been in the market since what seems like forever Is this "requestable" I feel like it should be
It is an older dragon and in the event so there is a good chance they will add it.
Remember the days when even the NEW dragons were a choice and you could pick a twin or rift if you already had the correct order?
Backflip stopped the practice of putting brand new dragons in the final reward egg many years ago, because it upset players who spent event currency or gems to acquire the new dragons. There were too many complaints, and it probably wasn’t very profitable for Backflip, so they omitted the new dragons.

I did request that Deca include last year’s dragons to the final daily reward egg for the Luck of the Vale event, and they added them. While requesting specific dragons might not be granted, previous dragons in general are a possibility. So we shall see…

The Pong of Ponkipong (larger dragon), brings up Chomp vibes. Surely these two must be camping buddies.

And I am sure I did NOT realize the Rift element could be a wildcard for any element in a breeding pair. This was a rather large gap in my DV knowledge. Thanks to all for filling in the blanks.
Noel dePlante was decorating the ferris wheel with lanterns for the evening rides when he heard a plop, plop, ploppp. JUMPIPLOP was jumping and plopping on the lanterns, extinguishing their light. 'Jumpiplop! The lights are to help the riders see at night. Why are you putting them out?!' exclaimed Noel. Jumpiplop jumped and plopped on another lantern, 'Fire hazard'.
Jumpiplop has dived into the co-op pool and is teaching all the dragons to sink or swim. Koalaplop to all!

Riptide and Psyche are two of my favorite dragons in the vale. How could two dragons, that are stunningly beautiful and absolutely gorgeous, combine to make something that looks like that? 😳

I admit I love Jumpiplop lol! I love the name and I like how swampy he seems.
